  1. I think you might me mistaken here, because KD doesn't have a Flight Deck that I know of. But I'd assume KI's FD logo will look similar to the one at CGA. I found this pic of it through a Google search. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3053/233939...35beced.jpg?v=0
  2. ^Well, given that PTR is a few weeks old, I'd assume they will paint the rest orange. At least, that's what I've heard.
  3. Here's a question -- how well can you see the stage in Riverbend from the lawn? 'Cause I was considering going to the Rush show there this summer, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get seats under the roof. But if you can't see the stage all that well from the lawn (especially since it looks like the roof dips pretty low), I'm not sure if it'll be worth it...
  4. Originally I wasn't too happy when I heard the first rumors, but I think I've come to accept it. I am looking forward to a smoother ride, as well as the trains actually racing.

  6. Well when you do, let me know.
  7. Yeah, that's updated correctly. It did previously mention one side running backwards, so the fact that it does so no longer is one sign of a change in store.
  8. I second that one. Guilty as charged.
  9. I had a trial by fire, if you will. First coaster was CP's Raptor. And I've been hooked ever since.
  10. He lives!!! He lives!!! *Insert theatrical, evil cackle here*
  11. Ya, I saw that naming contest back when it first started, and I thought, "what the hell, I'll enter..." Well I ended up as one of the finalists! Not the winning one, but I was still invited out there for AfterShock's opening ceremony to be on the first public train. Not sure if I'll actually be able to go, as Idaho's quite a ways from Ohio, and I'm low on the money thing. Anyone want to pay for my plane ticket? I'll get PICTURES!
  12. Yup, same here. I was hoping to go there with Cory Butcher, but that got cut... I do love the Nighthawk logo, but I hope they repaint the ride sometime. My guess is a dark purple track with yellow spine, and maybe rails, to match the logo, and black supports.
  13. Great to see KD opening up. I could have been there... Good to see Dominator is all up. The paint job is gonna look sweet once it's finished. I really like the color choice.
  14. Hmm, I kinda like Stunt Driver: The Pursuit as a name... Or even just The Pursuit.
  15. ^Nice one. Hell, I wonder if he can fit on any of the rides...
  16. Not really sure what they'd do about a third train. I'd like to see a third, but if that doesn't happen, they could at least lengthen the two existing trains by a few cars.
  17. Actually they do close DT when it rains, 'cause the roof leaks and it can't run with water in the trough. And as far as I'm aware, they do keep most of the coasters running in the rain, albeit with 1-train operation (due to the rain-related Magnum accident last season). The only one I know they close for any kind of rain is Dragster. Opening day of Maverick laster year I rode both Maverick and MF in the rain.

  19. Maybe, maybe not. I think it really depends on the person. I find forwards very rough on most days, but occasionally it will be fairly smooth. Backwards has always been the opposite for me - smooth mostly, but occasionally very rough. And you really can't use the argument about the same wooden track, because wood ages, bends, warps, etc. uniquely. You could technically make the argument, that, say, The Beast and The Voyage have the same wooden track, and therefore would have the same amount of roughness, but that's not true. Or The Beast and Racer. Each track has different weights running on them at different times, depending on how many guests are in a train. So it's likely that the tracks on each side of Racer have aged differently over time, providing a different amount of roughness. I can't see this happening, as (1) why would they rename it? And (2) they have already announced the name changes, and Racer isn't named/themed after a Paramount movie -- ergo, no necessary name change.
  20. ^I wasn't there, but I don't think so, as both before and after there were only 2 trains that were modified to run on Sonny's track.
  21. I dunno, it may grow on me over time, but right now I'd rather they kept one side running backwards. But I'm not going to judge until I ride it for myself this year.
  22. *drools* I can't wait to get there this summer. I'll be there with some friends sometime during the week of July 14th.
