  1. Well, based on my last few rides on it this past season, I wouldn't go that far. That thing seemed a hell of a lot more bumpy than it used to. And I could tell halfway down the first drop that it wasn't going to be a fun trip on the BS...
  2. Well I'm no fan of this decision...
  3. Demon Drop is not going anywhere, at least this year, as I've been hearing they is a operating crew on it. However, in all honesty, I see it leaving after 2008. The parts are getting old, and it's becoming a lot harder to find replacements these days. And the fact that I've heard that it would often get to the point where the mechanic would stay at the ride platform waiting for it to break down again... And the fact that several times last season when I was up there DD would not be running for all or most of the day. If it's not sold before the start of the 2009 season, I think Demon Drop will go on to ride heaven...
  4. Yeah, seriously, that's not bad for only being there two and a half hours. Shame Xcelerator was closed. I've heard that's a helluva ride. I need to get to Cali one of these days, if only to get away from the Midwest for a while.
  5. LOL at Cory. I'm bad, so I can't remember if Ki does this, but I know that at CP, the turnstiles they have at the ride entrances count the number of people that pass through on each day.
  6. So, using that logic could we say that Behemoth could possibly a prototype for a coaster at another CF park...? Hmmm...
  7. Uhh, would you happen to mean a copy of Nitro? Because I'm pretty sure a prototype of the ride would have to come before to actual ride itself.
  8. Huh, that's weird. And the pic of TT is still on the KK rides page... Is there any reason why the park would close this section of the park for an entire season? Are they demo-ing it for a future addition? Just seems odd...
  9. And I'm thinking this was far cry from the way we thought we'd share it... --DiSab, showing off his love of Rush (again...)
  10. Love it. --DiSab, a die-hard Rush fan for the last 10... months.
  11. Because they don't have the funds to build enough restrooms for that. Classic. Yet so true. Hell, they barely have enough restrooms for the Skyline stand(s) in the park.
  12. At KI: Wood - The Beast Steel - FoF tied with Firehawk Flat - Delirium Anywhere: Wood - The Voyage Steel - Millennium Force Flat - Skyhawk (CP)
  13. Haha, you may be on to something. At least, I hope so.

    Eiffel Tower

Yeah, I can second that one, although I didn't do it in high school. But I do have the tendency to do it in class every now and then now that I'm in college, and it's not the most fun when test day rolls around. I would think that they did, cause those towers look an awful like the other Intamin lattice tower installations.
  15. KI Man you pimp, getting all the female ops... Can I go to Australia now?!?
  16. Splashin' Safari is an excellent water park. Some of the slide you can't judge by looking at the website. For example, ZOOMbabwe has some kick-ass surprises in the slide itself that you can't see from the outside. And Bakuli is simply amazing. Zinga's not bad, either.
  17. ^Haha, that'd be sweet.
  18. I can't see this happening for a long time yet. Maybe removing some of the older, worn-out slides for some new ones, but removing the entire thing? I just don't see that happening.
  19. Very nice, beastfan. Now if only I had at least a little artistic talent in me... Tell me about it. If only we could get good computers to use... The last three semesters I used my computer for most classes for note-taking and the like. But this semester, I have found it easier to take notes by hand. Mainly because diagrams of chemical reactions and invertebrate anatomy don't seem to transfer very well to a Word document. I remember second semester last year I ended up surfing the internets for an entire Chem 124 class period for 2 good reasons - (1) my teacher was boring and an idiot [this was the class in which we spent a good 45 minutes talking about the difference between soap and detergent], and (2) it was the first day Maverick was testing, so I was IM-ing one of my friends (who worked on Maverick last season), got several good pictures from the CP webcam, and ended up doing a Cedar Fair Village feature later in the day about the first test runs. Good times, good times.
  20. I will likely be there. If UD sponsors an Opening Day trip like they did last year, I'm so there. If not, I'll hopefully find some people to go with.
  21. Yes, that may be, but once the launched train hits the upward slant into the hill, that's when the intense force on the legs would probably kick in. But you're probably right about the flying legs.
  22. I know WildCat at CP has anti-rollbacks on several of it's hills, and I'm sure other of the Schwarzkopf Wildcat designs do as well. I would assume it had/has a valleying problem, and I would venture to guess it's because of the single-car trains, as they are lighter than longer trains. And to whomever has suggested it further up: I wold hate to see a launched stand-up coaster. Take the force on your legs and body produced by a normal stand-up, and add a launch sequence to that. Not fun - at least in theory.

    Drop Tower

My guess would probably be routine maintenance. Open door (probably) for access to the outer components, and the light so that the workers can see.
  24. Riddler's Revenge, lol Already done. See - Intamin Stand-Up Coasters
  25. I'm sure that will be fixed soon - I mean they just changed the website names in the last few days, so I'm sure they'll take care of it. Remember what they did with the Top Gun train logo on the KI website?
