This one will be short 'n sweet.
This day was my union's annual Member Appreciation Day, and I went with Elina. It was unbelievably hot and we weren't really in the mood to do much because of the heat. The union was giving away tons of door prizes including 4 iPods, a Wii, and grills, bikes, and so on. Our tickets stated that drinks could be obtained until 4:30 but when we returned around 3 to see if we had won anything, the drinks were not available only water. What gives? Why print that on the ticket but then change the times? Both gold name tags I spoke to had no clue so that was nice. I drank the water because I was thirsty, but that irked me.
Elina was disappointed in the "New Crypt" and SoB was down for most of the day.

I'd be a wee bit concerned about guest misconduct around the car, were it me.
Terpy, who has seen cars at the Disney Studio Park and Animal Kingdom mistreated by guests, and the same back by Juke Box Diner at Kings Island and before that at Geauga Lake in the 50's section. Some people just cannot behave...probably the same ones who grace the park with their "artwork."
Also the line jumpers.
If you're actually interested in learning how to solve the Rubik's Cube, I highly recommend the book Mastering Rubik's Cube by Don Taylor. My dad has a copy of it, and it's quite useful. Although it's long since out of print, there are a couple dozen used copies floating around amazon.com (and one which is supposedly in new condition, but the idiot selling that somehow thinks they can get $79.39 for it...).Another tip would be to read the directions that come with your Rubik's cube. I used to work with a guy who just played with his cube all day long and could solve it in mere minutes, all learned, you guessed it, from the directions.
Well, my teacher from a couple years ago learned to solve the Rubiks cube on Youtube. Now he can solve it within one and half minutes (Well, a couple years ago he could. He might've gotten slower, or faster, depending on how much he still plays with it). Now I'm gonna have to look up the world record.
Edit: The world record for solving a Rubik's cube was set by Erik Akkersdijk in 2008 with a time of 7.08 seconds (that is a single best time). The world record (this is for an average of three out of five, where your best three are taken) is 10.63 seconds by Tomasz Zolnowski.
He wasn't that good, but I was impressed that he could solve the thing in the first place.

I do the exact same thing...The workers always give me a wierd look though
I just unhook the chain, walk through and hook it back. I'm too big to be ducking under things.

Did anyone else notice the long pole type things on top of FD's overbank turn? What are those?

I was there by myself yesterday from 2-10. I was wearing my Mystry Mine shirt. I rode DB 12 times while waiting for my last ride for the night I tried to talk with two guys in front of me one was wearing a grey DB shirt and the other guy was wearing a blue shirt, I know that the one in blue works at ki but they just blew me off oh well. I did see Ryan "wildman" and Chelsea from DB crew was very nice I tried recruiter her to join KICentral.
I saw you at least 3 times, mostly in the DB queue. Every time I saw your shirt, I thought about how I should get down there and ride that thing.
I was wearing an orange shirt with black shorts. I'm around 6'5 with a ton of hair.
Chelsea from DB was awesome on Monday. She even listened to me vent about a seat assigner who was very rude.
I also heard from Brian on the Eiffel Tower that this is the last year for the Crypt. He said that one of the arms "exploded" last year and that you could hear it from across the park. One of those statements I believe. Guess which one.
Ummm. The one about the arm exploding?
No. I believe that this is the last year for the Crypt. If one of the arms did "explode" surely we'd have heard about it by now.

I read nearly all of the Trip Reports that people take the time to post. Every report I read either teaches me about KI, or helps me learn about the members of KIC. If you write 'em, I'll read 'em.
For a while there I was getting pretty cranky about mine not having many or any replies but now I really don't care. If something interesting happens, I'll let you all know. If not, I'll still let you all know because, well, I like to share.

53. Unlike some people that power lap DB. I ride it maby, once or twice when I visit. Unless the line is super short then I marathon the baby!
I don't go crazy when I'm at the park, but once I've ridden everything else that I want to, I'm going to ride Diamondback.

I am always amazed at how often I hear change, cell phones and other objects either hitting the floors of the DB trains or hitting the pavement below. Looking up at the nets just below the first drop tells you how often stuff comes out. The bottom of the hill leading into the first helix and drop off of the MCBR seem to be the worst thieves, however.
Out of curiosity, how busy was the park from 8-10 yesterday?
Not very I would assume. From 8:30 to close I was at DB, and the line was around 10-15 minutes give or take for the random "protein spills that seem to happen very often this year. I saw a guy spill over the fence in the station at The Beast.
I agree. Ride in row 1 one time and look at all the cell phones that are actually inside the track. I counted at least 7 phones on the track box yesterday.

I went from 36 to 60 over my last two visits. Currently I'm sitting on 60 laps.
Wow. Seriously. Is Diamondback the only thing that some of you are riding when going to Kings Island?I can answer for Mark in this case. Yes, that IS the only thing he does. I see him there all the time power-lapping it. Sometimes I'm surprised when he's willing to stop to talk to me for a minute or two.
Personally, I prefer to do other things as well, and I'm really enjoying taking a little of Terpy's advice and spending some time just wandering around the park, hanging out, relaxing, and just enjoying spending time there. I went to the water park today just before the rain and just walked around people watching, and then relaxed for about 15 minutes or so by the wave pool. That was very refreshing.
I might also add that I have enjoyed meeting many of you while at Kings Island, and making new friends is quite the pleasure.
My casual riding has led me to 36 Diamondback rides so far, and while that isn't all that many, I'm okay with that.

I'm totally with you there Flyer. Even though I got 10 laps in yesterday, I still managed to wander aimlessly for most of the day watching people play games, watching the slingshot, being lazy etc...

I was supposed to go to the park with my brother but his coach scheduled a game for the 8th so this was a solo trip.
Nothing too eventful, I hit all I wanted to, got to marathon Flight Deck and could have for the rest of the night if I wanted to, put 10 more laps on DB bringing my last two trips total to 24 and I had a great day.
On my third to last ride on Diamondback, I was in row 16 with a first timer. A group of younger kids were in front of me and as I'm known to do, I start chatting with them in line. While on the ride going down the third hill, I see one of the girls reach for something that is flying towards us but she misses. Right after that I see something hit the floor of the car and bounce up towards me. Thinking quickly, I catch the object against my body and discover a set of keys. Through the rest of the ride I have the keys securely in my hand, and I even posed for the picture yelling "I caught someone's keys" and holding them for the camera to see. On the brake run, I announce loudly, "I caught someone's keys." The male of the group in front of me looks back and says "Those are my keys." What are the chances that 1) I would be paying attention and 2) that I would be able to actually catch the keys? It was close to 9:30 and it was getting darker, ten more minutes and I wouldn't have been able to see much of anything. He actually lost his wallet too, but didnt' seem to care much about that. I felt better that I helped someone avoid a crappy ending to their day.

I've came to notice security has become more lax at the front gate. They use to always go threw my camera bags now they hardly ever do.
Every time I go with my camera, they check my bag.
Security inside the park is a laughing stock. Yesterday (6-8) I saw a woman smoking outside a designated smoking area near the age and weight game in Oktoberfest and I saw a security guard walking behind her and the guard did nothing. Way to go KI security! Isn't that what the security force is supposed to be looking for? The simple fact that the security force can not or will not enforce park policy is troubling.

I remember taking the ride for like $15 one day and since I was the first ride of the day, I got to go to the small airport and fill up on gas. I thought the helicopter ride was pretty sweet and offered a unique view of the park.

Would "CFL" bulbs be "Cedar Fair Light" bulbs?

If the above link works, it should be centered on the MCBR where you can see something bright red back there in the woods. Can't really tell what it is though.
Not even close. The arrow was centered at the intersection of 741 and Kings Island Dr.

Here's something that I consider terrifying. If you watch the track on Diamondback on the first drop between the two supports, it will give a little while the train is on it. That's not terrifying, the fact that the largest support shakes quite a bit after the train drops, that scares me.
