  1. According to the park's hotline operators, and confirmed by another poster in this thread the wristband is no longer exclusive to passholders.
  2. Sounds more like you were at Cedar Point than Kings Island. I smell the Cedar Fair attitude bellowing downward........sigh..... I thought all of the people working at Diamondback were really nice today. The people working at the queue were really nice and the person assigning seats was nice and let me request my seats. But, there was one REALLY rude worker that was working the exit gate when I was getting off once. I would agree except for the supervisor out front. Unnecessarily rude. Also, while she may have been nice, the separator in the station was very inconsistent. While my group of two was not permitted to wait for the front seat because the line was too long (equal with a pole in the station) a group of three directly behind us was.
  3. If I ever become "Single Rider so and so" I'll wonder what went terribly terribly wrong. I love coasters, don't get me wrong, but once my day consists of one coaster, it's time to move on.
  4. Maybe that was the case but I couldn't justify waiting over an hour for The Beast. I guess I got spoiled last season. Plus we were waay tired and didn't feel like dealing with the crowds.
  5. You're right about the single rider supervisor. She was kind of a jerk to me too. I love how she told me that you have to prove you're a single rider. I still don't know how that's going to go. Seems like there are still some kinks that need to be worked out. I mentioned Maverick's single rider line and that perhaps it should have been split like that and her response was "We're not Cedar Point, we're Kings Island." I said that both parks were owned by the same company and her response was the same, "We're Kings Island." That was fairly rude I thought. I hope to be able to use the single rider line when I go alone this season, but I may need to check with the park to see what criteria is being used that day.
  6. I know right. Their guesses were way off. I got in line back by Central Grill, and I was in the loading station an hour later even with a full queue. Not only does DB have a superb capacity, the crew did a fantastic job and I have to give kudos to them for throwing trains out left and right like they did. Not once did I see stacked trains, and the line never stopped moving. I saw them stack a few times while we were in line around noon. Even though they did stack every now and then, the line still moves very well.
  7. ^^^ I agree. The first drop seemed like it would never end and took me completely by surprise. Also, the hill coming out of the hammerhead was really an airtime surprise.
  8. If you rode it on opening day the third one would be heat. It had to be like 85 or 90 degrees in there. I could barely breathe once we got in.
  9. Honestly, there were so many people there and I was getting progressively tired as the day wore on, I'm surprised I remembered to say hi to as many people as I did. If I was that close, I probably should have said something, I would have liked to have talked with you. I did see Cory Butcher and Captain Nemo, but I forgot when I made my first post.
  10. I simply was not prepared for the lines in the morning for "ERT." That shocked me quite a bit. Good for the park, though. Hope they did well and made lots of nickels.
  11. I was in the third car back and coming down into the helix before the midcourse brake, I was out of my seat for what seemed like 3-5 seconds. I loved the ride, the first drop stole the show for me. Very deceiving until you're on it.
  12. Not every woman sweeper had the suspender outfit. I saw two together at one point and one had khaki shorts and a regular yellow shirt on.
  13. We got in line on the clock side of the Eiffel Tower at around 11:45 and were off around 1:40 or so. Not too bad compared to 9 when I was told the wait would be 4 hours.
  14. I guess I'm thinking that if one year its a pass perk and the next its available to non pass holders is just a reason to wonder what the next "perk" that will be offered and then changed will be. Am I alone in thinking that pass holders maybe should be offered a discount as an incentive to a purchase?
  15. This is kind of a rip-off. Anyone can buy them this year regardless of season pass status. I would have loved to see a discount for pass holders, but none yet. I called the park Thursday and was told $8.99, so in two days the price jumped a dollar.
  16. There is, but I was given conflicting information about it. I was told by an area supervisor that you have to prove you are in fact a single rider, meaning in her words, "If we see you talking to people around you, we won't let you in the single rider line." She did say that you will have to wait in whatever line there is up until the entrance sign, and then if there is room or whatever criteria they might be using that day or hour or minute, you may or may not get into the single rider line. "This is a perk, this is us helping you out, this is not a guarantee.", she also said.
  17. I didn't see too many people. I ran into violakat and gigacoaster, Avatar, Phantom Theater and iChase and friend. That's about it. I was wearing an orange Chad Johnson jersey if anyone thought they saw me but wasn't sure.
  18. Before I went to bed, it was closed, now it's not. Interesting, but DB should give great rides today. An early treat for those unable to make it to the park today.
  19. Seems to me that info may need to come out lickety split in order to properly run this event. We're under a month away and nothing firm has come out. Wouldn't the park like to give people time to plan? I know the date has been set, but for all we know, something may come up and prevent things from happening.
  20. so it will be marked down? and i can just like, buy my tickets, and come back later to ride, right? yes Thanks! I assume you're the one who makes the decision for that kind of thing? He was just channeling Terpy, that's all.
  21. I found this definition too. I was wondering what it meant, but now I know, and knowing is half the battle.
  22. I placed a null vote because I wouldn't vote for Paramount, Cedar Fair just got the park (relatively), and I was too young to really remember Taft or the other one. If CF had been going on year 6 or 7, my vote would have gone to them. That said, I think things are looking good for our fair park.
  23. That's funny. Every free shirt I've ever received has been way too small. I like to start at 3 and go from there.
  24. Agreed. I would think they wouldn't have a problem dressing up this time as it won't be 90 or so degrees out.
  25. How far back past the lift hill is the queue going to go? It looks like it could stretch for quite a way back close to the little "waterfall" that will be feeding the splashdown.
