  1. Any news yet on whether or not the unlimited drink wristband will be making an appearance in 2009?
  2. According to the KI map, the lines will be longer in the morning. Take that for what it's worth, although it's really probably pretty accurate.
  3. Count me in. Also count me in to help out in any way that I can.
  4. Since the other thread is gone, what's the significance?
  5. Don said at the offseason blues tour that the queue would likely be similar to BLSC, Firehawk, or Delirium. I was hoping that DB would get something similar to Maverick, but it appears not.
  6. I just found an old ORP from FoF. This was back when the OTSR were still being used. After I'm done moving, I'll put it up as it's packed away now.
  7. Thanks for the TR. I previously have never been to a six flags park, and after reading this, you've opened my eyes a bit. Great job.
  8. You mean where the spot will be to take pics OF Diamondback? Because I'm pretty sure no one will be taking (legal) pictures ON the ride because of the camera policy. I would assume the Eiffel Tower will be a hot spot for shots of DBack, as well as directly under the initial drop and helix. It appears that one could get many good shots of the lift, drop, helix, splash, and woods from that one spot. Don't forget the Crypt's exit walkway.
  9. Why not? They run nationally on cable stations like CNN, WTBS, etc. Because I don't have cable. I just can't justify paying for television.
  10. Yep. It looks like the concrete has been poured for the queue area directly off the midway. Aside from that, who knows?
  11. It would seem that the "More Flags, More Fun" tagline is here to stay, much to my chagrin. I really did enjoy the "older" commercials, even though I don't live in a SF market, so really I don't have to see the new one at all if I don't want.
  12. I do almost everything solo. If I want to do something, I hate waiting for someone to go with. I usually meet interesting people at the thing I'm doing anyway. That being said, I don't mind doing things with a friend or a group, it just seems I'm by myself mostly.
  13. For the most part, I have to plan my trips in order to obtain the day off from work. I know I have every Sunday off so sometimes we go then, but when I have a weekday off in the summer, I'm at the Island. But even that's planned as far out as the Friday prior.

Wow. I guess if you miss a day around here, you miss alot.
  15. Just because it isn't painted now, doesn't mean it won't be.
  16. Cool idea for a TR. I like the TRs from different locations that aren't parks. Mixes thing up a bit.
  17. Sure does. Once you get your receipt or whatever it is you have to print out, you'll need to have it "processed" to get your new card. Typical strategies include entering with your receipt and coming back out later after the line has died down and having it processed then, or waiting in a massive line. I thought it just reused last year's card. I know people who processed their renewals in the fall kept the same card. Sorry, I should have been more clear. We had Platinum passes last year and only got Gold this year so we had to have new cards. My mistake.

  19. Good thing we had our '09 passes processed in November. No lines for me. I'll see you all at Diamondback. I do think that the earlier it gets done the better.
  20. When I saw Skillet last year I think they played for around 45 minutes. I'm sure that as the day goes on, acts will play longer sets.
  21. Don H. himself said that there would be no pull through. Since he is in a sense, the park, that is the only person I listen to. Keep in mind that while Diamondback is a B&M, Maverick is an Intamin AG coaster. I'm told that matters.
  22. Sweet. Thanks for being there to capture this occasion. Just another perk of belonging to this site. The coaster MOVES. Should be a great ride on the 18th.
  23. As much as I'd love to stay on the forums and watch this thing move, alas, I have to go to work. Hopefully someone will have video when I get home. Happy testing!!!
  24. Well, my 24 hours or so will go like this. 12:00am Friday--Get off work 12:45--Get home 1-1:30--Get to bed 8-8:30--Get up and leave for the park 9:15-9:45--Enter the park and attempt to get in line for DB. After that it's all about just enjoying the park until about 9:30 when we'll hopefully get back in line for DB for a night ride.
  25. I do, but I don't think anyone's are going to be much different. We all had basically the same vantage point.
