  1. I was skeptical about Drop Zone, but I rode it anyway and loved it. I was also a bit nervous about Skyflyer, but after avoiding it for about 3 years finally rode it and loved it as well. Although I don't do it now unless it's under 10 dollars.
  2. I voted for the fall event and the prime schedule. I think the fall event would be best though. Although it might be nice to have it in early June right before the park opens as a kind of sneak peak type deal. Either way it doesn't really matter I had such a blast at this years that I would want to go to another no matter when it was.
  3. I too made it to the park yesterday, and had a great time. First ride was Drop Zone, which I ended up doing twice with hardly any wait at all. I then hit all the usual rides including all the coasters. I also finally caught the Twistin' to the 60's show. There were really two standouts of my day though. The first being that I went to ride the backwards Racer. I occasionally like the backseat. I don't know I just think it's cool to see the track that way. Anyway I walked through the line and by the time I got to the back some people from the previous train switched seats and I'm sure you can all guess which one they took. I wasn't really upset about it too much as there wasn't any line and I would have waited through another cycle. Then the ride-op asks me if I walked through the line. I say yes I did. And then she proceeded to tell them that since I walked through the line and they were just staying on that they had to move and let me have that seat. I thought that was very nice of her to do and on my way out I stopped at Guest Relations and left a compliment for her. I've had people do this to me on slow days before and it is a little frustrating when you're getting ready to walk on and someone else is there. The second was being able to ride Flight of Fear and getting out just in time to get in Firehawk's line right before they cut the line off for closing. All in all it was a fine day to go and I had a blast like always. On a side note I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I have to ask. Why is it that if you buy a Coke from a vending machine it's $3.00 but if you go to a stand or a shop it's $3.50?
  4. I chose Circus of Horrors 3-D, but I'm really looking forward to them all. Club Blood is first on my list to check out and I want to see Dead Awakening too. If there was a bottom of my list it's the Fear Zones. Not because I don't like them it's just that everytime I go through them I always seem to get stuck behind a group of teenagers who get scared and almost run me over trying to get through. Although I must say last year was better when they only let small groups go through them at a time. I hope that's what they do this year as well.
  5. I always get stuck going on Saturdays since that is my normal day off. I would say Fridays have a better chance at shorter lines though. The first weekend is always good last year I went on the first Saturday and did more than I thought I would. It's been a long time, but if I remember when it was an upcharge the lines were still long, just not 2-3 hour wait long. The way I've had to do it in the last couple of years was guess which attraction would have the worst line and hit that one first every week. Sometimes you get lucky though and can hit one right before closing. It's hard to time though, I've just gotten lucky doing that. And for some reason it's always Circus of Horrors 3-D that I make it on. That one has always been my favorite. I look at it this way if they charge for the event I'm still going. I'm not going to miss out. This is my favorite time of year, and always a good time. Plus who doesn't like riding The Beast around 1 in the morning?
  6. I'm on the fence about this one. I like the Halloween event being included with my pass. However I remember it being that much better when there was an extra charge. I'm still going either way. In fact I'm looking forward to it. It is a little bittersweet though. While I like Halloween time the best it signals the end of the season which is always a little sad. Although I do remember when I had to pay I was able to hit all the haunts plus a few rides. Whereas lately I have to split the haunts up each visit to get them all in. So I'm fine with a nominal charge for passholders. It sounds like I won't be disappointed and my money will be put to good use. Now I won't be upset in the least if it's still free don't get me wrong. Either way I'm there.
  7. I personally cannot wait. It sounds like they're really going all out this year.
  8. The park was packed, it took me forever to find a parking space. I was there for the Weird Al concert. I saw at least one person I know from here at the metal detectors. I only got to ride Racer and the the Zephyr then it was time for the show. Which was just as well. I'll be there again on Tuesday as well.
  9. This is probably as good as place as any. But I talked to someone during The Beast tour and your camera phone was going dead so I said I'll put the photos on the web if you'd like. I'm sorry I can't remember your name, and I haven't put them up yet, but I will and let you know when I do. Just didn't want you to think I forgot.
  10. Which is really funny considering the loop was also the smoothest part of the ride.
  11. I want to thank everyone involved in making this happen. My mother and I had a great time, meeting everyone we did. We also really enjoyed The Beast tour the most. And I personally liked watching the promotional videos. And your right the state that Americana is in is very depressing, I remember going there as a kid and really enjoying myself. Thanks again. I hope to meet up with people that I've met in the future at the park. Oh and I took loads of pictures that I'll try and get online as soon as possible. As for suggestions, the only one I would have would be to maybe have a Q and A history lesson of the park. Kind of like the promotional videos thing. I know most know the history but I still find it cool to see all those old items from when I was a kid and some before I was even thought of.
  12. I always get stuck with the blue train. Today I rode in the back seat. It was a bit rough for me today as well. I think I've only been in the red train once in the 10 or so times I've rode it this year.
  13. I thought I had put that in there. But I did ride Gemini. I don't know why I forgot to add that. You're right it was great. As for the other there was an employee at the entrance he told mu mom she had to tie her little purse around her waist. I had my camera attached to my belt and with a strap. I'm guessing he thought I had something in it and that I was just going to throw it away when I was done. I'll have to look into the Halloween thing. I get another week of vacation and in fact am taking it the last week of October. I usually go to Fearfest every week, but will definatly look into going up there once more. There was somewhat of a breeze. And as always the fans with misters. The only line that I really got hot hot in was Maverick.
  14. I haven't been to Cedar Point in at least 15 years. I was lucky enough to get to go this year on my vacation. I got to the park about 11 after one wrong turn thanks to mapquest and traffic. Found a Pepsi can outside so I saved myself 8 bucks. I would have gotten a maxx pass, but I didn't know if I would get to any other parks so I just got the gold pass for KI. First ride was Demon Drop, which I missed last time I was there. Next I head over to Top Thrill Dragster which had a 45 minute wait, which is no problem for me as I've never rode it. I have to say I didn't know what to expect. As soon as we launched I got my hands up whereas everyone else that I went with held on for dear life. I took in the 3 second view before looking at the ground. I have never rode anything like this before and I was not dissapointed. After that we headed over and rode Corkscrew which was about like I remember it being. The best part about that ride for me is the fact that it goes over the Midway. Then we hit up Magnum XL200 which was as great as I remember. Rode in the back and got great airtime. Then we hit up Witches Wheel, which is just like the old Skylab. Still a fun ride. Now it's time for Maverick. Just as we entered the 1:45 min wait, it broke down. I thought best to wait it out which turned out to be good as a decent amount of people left the line and it was only down for about 15 min. After finally getting up to the ride, I have to say this was my favorite of the day. I came into the line going through Camp Snoopy so I didn't see the drop, it was all surprise when I got on. If the line wasn't so long or if I would ahve been there for more than a day I would have rode this one again. After that we took a ride on Mean Streak which I wish I would have skipped. Same thing with the Cedar Creek Mine ride. I liked them okay just wish I would have rode something else instead. Then we go over to Millennium Force which had about an hour and a half wait. Finally got up to the station and ended up having to throw away my Maverick cup. Which is my fault that I didn't pay attention and put it in a locker. I thought it would fit in my cargo pocket but it didn't. The guy was a little rude about it. He started freaking out on me when I got to him. Plus his English wasn't that great, so maybe that's why it sounded rude. Oh well I'll know next time. Now for the ride. I love the way it's so quiet going up the hill. It was worth the wait having never been on it. We then went straight to Mantis. I was looking forward to this one since the only other stand-up I've been on was King Cobra. It was great although the little seat thing kinda rode on me a bit. However if I went any lower the shoulder bars wouldn't have fit right. If you've never rode this I would recommend it. After all this we had enough time for one more ride. We all headed over to Raptor. After thinking about it I left my group to go ride Wicked Twister which was another one I really wanted to do. I walked right on and rode with some kid who came in line behind me. This ride while a little short was extremely fun. I looked at my watch and guess what? I had enough time to make it back to Raptor too. I got in line for this and my mother got back in line so I stepped aside so she wouldn't linejump anyone and waited for her to catch up. I didn't get the onride video they had though. I thought this was a great way to end the night. I also was warned about the last second jerk it gives before going back into the station so I was prepared. All in all it was a great day. On the way out I bought another Maverick cup, I really wanted one for some reason. The 4 hour drive back to Cincy wouldn't have been so bad if everyone I was with didn't go to sleep on me. I wouldn't trade it though while being tired I had a great time and can't wait to go back. Everyone up there was really nice. Even the guy who freaked out on me was I'm sure nice. It was just busy and very very hot out. Plus I know he was just doing his job. I should have gotten a locker, like I said now I know and next time I won't have that problem. If you made it this far thanks for reading. I have pictures up on my myspace page which is at www.myspace.com/21831681 If I put them up somewhere else I'll let anyone that wants to see them know. I also have pics from Kings Island in one of the folders on my myspace page. Editied to say that I also rode Skyhawk which I found to be awesome as well. And also Power Tower I rode on the side that shoots you up. There was no wait for that side. I like the weightless feeling you get at the top.
  15. I'll be there with my mom. Both of us are looking forward to it. welchce TOPGUN1993 flightoffear1996 Jamesv7 cat13 Vortexfan92 jessy8 Raptor66 standbyme PKIVortex cholderfield shatzer tubaman james78
  16. I'm ready for the fourth to be here I've got my tickets in hand. My mother went ahead and got one for me and herself since my birthday is two days before the event. It should be a lot of fun. Only downfall is I have to work late the night before, but the way I look at it I can catch up on sleep the next day. On the off chance though you don't make it right at 9 where would you go to pick up everything?
  17. I had that same smile when I got there today. They were running empty for a while when i was in line for Son of Beast then I noticed people so my next stop was Drop Zone. I didn't realize how much I missed it untl I rode it today. Wait for it wasn't too bad only about 15 min or so.
  18. I got the game for 15 a couple of weeks ago. It was 19.99 as someone else said last year. When the sale hit it went back to it's old price of 29.99 and it was 50% off when I got it. I want to get a Son of Beast shirt this week. The ones that I found that I liked were down in the shop in Action Zone. I opened my game and so far I'm one for one on it. I may buy another one and keep it in the shrink wrap as well.
  19. I also took advantage of this I got the Kings Island monopoly game. I plan on getting a couple shirts if the sale is still going on next week.
  20. The PM went through afterall so everything is good now. I already got my tickets as well. They came in the mail on Tuesday. Which was fast considering I ordered them on Sunday.
  21. Earlier this year I was stuck on Vortex at the mid-course brakes for about 5 minutes due to slow loading. This past week I was stuck on Delirium for about 15 minutes because the floor didn't come up. I knew something was wrong when we were slowly turning around to our original position when it kind of dis engaged and just lightly swung back and forth. I didn't mind though it wasn't all that bad.
  22. It looked like an old sign. An even older sign which there is a picture on here somewhere was at the front gates to the park. The "P" one with Spongebob on it talking about repair. I have to admit that I am a little biased towards it as I like the ride. Overall I look at it this way. I've ridden it at least over 200 times with the loop, about 5 without. I want the ride to be open only if it's safe. If there isn't a way to do that then it won't be open anyway and I and everyone else can't ride. I guess what I'm saying is this. I would rather have an open Son of Beast than a closed Son of Beast, but if it never opens and is just a pile of wood rotting then yes I don't mind if it goes and something else in its place is put up. Other rides have come and gone that I loved and I got over those I can get over this too. The Beast is the only ride I have to ride everytime I go anyway. I'll be there next Tuesday as usual if it's up then I'm on it if not then I'll enjoy my day on many of the other rides like I did this past week.
  23. I can't remember when Flight Commander reopened either. I want to say it was the 92 season. I know I rode it al least one time after the accident and before it was removed. As for Son of Beast when I went Tuesday there was a sign in the entrance for it that said Son of Beast was closed for testing. But there were no tests that I could see, both trains were on the storage track. I didn't get there until about 1 though so it may have tested earlier in the day. I rode it during the 8 days it was open and thought it was fantastic. Lines were about a 25 min wait which I thought was kind of long for a weekday.
  24. For some reason when I send a PM it doesn't come up in my sent folder. All I was going to say was that when I RSVP'd I did so for myself and my mother. I'll try to send another PM later if you need her name for the nametags if it doesn't come up on the list with mine.
  25. I was there last tuesday and it only had one train going but while we were in line they loaded the other train on the tracks. This was around 12:30 to 1:00 I'd say I can't remember but it was the first thing I rode that day. After the other train was on the tracks I want to say both trains ran the rest of the day. They were anyways when I came back for a second ride.
