  1. They are not too big, they easily fit on a shelf. Mine is roughly 14 inches x 5 inches x 2 inches.
  2. The people who are not happy about it. (Just trying to add a little of The Interpreter’s old literal humor into the conversation. )
  3. Has anyone seen the WindSeeker pin at the park yet? It is still not up on the site…which I find odd.
  4. Things have sold out on the KIGEAR site several times in the past on different items and restocked, sometimes within a few days…so I wouldn’t worry too much that it will not be back in stock.
  5. The Beastie should have gotten a new pin in the series automatically, it puzzles me how it got passed by...but with that said, I voted for a tram one since I already do have a Beastie pin. I think a pin with the trams sitting underneath the old Kings Island marquee would have been great.
  6. My wallet let out a sigh of relief…so far the park hasn’t listed anything new on the KIGEAR site today!
  7. The full train that I have been waiting for is up now!
  8. So where’s your signature?! (Maybe you can still run over to the park & sign them before they go out!) I am looking forward to seeing so much park history all in one place instead of spread out over years of maps, Fun Gudes, press releases etc…and I know that you are swimming in rare stuff, so this should be amazing! I never would have expected a physical book at this point in time, so this is really cool. Thanks in advance for your hard work!
  9. Well, today’s item is special…a coffee table book about the history of the park! And at the moment, there are signed copies available:
  10. Turns out Orion is #50…they put up 5 pins today…but they left off WindSeeker for some reason…this is the pin that we didn’t get to see in the last Limited Edition set. Planet Snoopy is #45. I hope the site puts up WindSeeker soon so that I can finish my set. I have enjoyed these pins and am grateful that the park put out so many pins in this set, I think it is a great representation of the park’s history. (The only things that I can think of that didn’t get a pin that I wished did are The Rotor, The Beastie, the trams, a parking lot sign…and although I know it wouldn’t have been possible, The Happy Land of Hanna Barbera & Nick Universe.) Thanks again to the park for going all out for the 50th Anniversary!
  11. Yeah…I guess I need to go back to school again. One could only hope!
  12. Oh joy…at least we know what 4 of the upcoming pins are.
  13. Now it’s Vortex’s turn! I wish that they would have gotten more creative with the track…maybe a partial corkscrew or half of a loop.
  14. Today on the site the “new” listings are for 2 different Christmas ornaments. I believe the brass one is the same as the one I bought a year or two ago. (Am I wrong?) I have not seen the fireworks one before though…but it really doesn’t look $19.99 nice to me…more like something I would expect to pay $14.99 for. EDIT: I dug up the one I bought a year or so ago…the new one is different…they swapped out some rides…it is really similar…yet different.
  15. Today’s new offering on the site is 5 new sweatshirts: They are $70.00 each…I think they look nice, but I am not a fan of printing on sleeves…I think it looks dated…like it’s from the 90’s…for those of you who are old enough to remember that time period.
  16. 42, 43 & 44 are now up. I’m glad Diamondback got the deluxe treatment! Looks like a quality pin…but kind of a depressing design.
  17. No one has mentioned the new deluxe Diamondback cut-out that is being offered on the site. (I don’t know about the park.) The park is certainly going for higher end stuff this year. This is limited to 250 pieces. At $199.99, do you think this will sell out decently fast? (Or even at all?)
  18. Since the park has been on overdrive all year long…which has been making me very happy…and broke, I figured that it would be nice to have one catch-all thread to post whatever new stuff that we find either on the KIGear site or at the park.
  19. The Haunt pin looks great…and so does the description of the Diamondback one…hopefully those will be on line this week. On a side note, I received The Crypt & Delirium pins in the mail this week…there is no justice, The Crypt pin is a lot nicer than Delirium’s. Delrium’s pin is plain/flat, Crypt’s is nice a nice 3D one. It got me thinking, I wonder if the person(s) designing these are even familiar with the park? Admittedly, if I were an outsider I would think The Crypt must have been a better ride than Delirium based on their logos…but Delirium has proven itself a fan favorite over the years. Once again, disappointed that Delirium didn’t end up with a better pin…but whoever designed Crypt’s pin did a very nice job with it’s 3D effect. And here is today’s offering… (I wonder why the delay on the most recent 3 pins on the site?)
  20. I recently picked up one of the Coasterdynamic K.I. MV Railroad cutouts. To be honest, I am not a big fan of the whole look of the cutouts…but that hasn’t stopped me from buying them. When my set arrived today I was amused that what really impressed me about this set was the box/crate that it came in! It really is a work of art. Here is a photo of the crate from the KI Gear site: And here’s a couple close-ups that I took of mine…although my photos do not do the actual quality justice. So, finally, here is my new product suggestion for the park…how about a new line of artwork done the same way as the front of this crate? (Is is done by laser?) I would like to see some rustically framed artwork, they could be in different sizes, but I would personally prefer 11x14 inches. I think this rustic look would be perfect for rides like The Beast, Mystic Timbers, Diamondback. They could make multiple different variations for each ride…such as, for The Beast, one could be the logo, one could be of the ride, one of the warning signs etc…, if the park didn’t overcharge and made them reasonably priced I think the park could sell quite a few of these. As a further recommendation, if the park does possibly make something like this…and decides to make them Limited Edition….PLEASE do not incorporate the words “Limited Edition” into the actual artwork…the reason I say this is because when I buy something that I want to display, I am displaying it because I like what it looks like…not because I am trying to impress anyone who sees it. (As an example, I think this is one of the main flaws of the “Limited Edition” pin sets…who wants to look at that bottom line all the time?) To me, that bottom line distracts from both the pins & the background artwork…I mean really, do they expect someone’s friend/relative to see it and gasp in amazement “Wow! And it’s limited edition!” So, in conclusion, I hope someone from the park’s merchandising department considers this idea in the future…although, no hurry, I’m still trying to catch up with everything I want from this year!
  21. Well, the KIGear Black Friday isn’t what I had hoped for…I have pretty much everything on the list that I want…I would like to own the banners, but I think those are way overpriced. One thing that IS nice is free shipping on orders of $100.00 or more! https://www.kingsislandgear.com/collections/black-friday-20-off-select-50th-anniversary?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=blackfriday&fbclid=IwAR2RClSBivquLgAM2I7zi54fthH-gk9lOxP2Y-0yJx1k8UBBx4qZ0fH7Sko
  22. Hoping (probably unrealistically) that the KIGear site will have some sort of Black Friday sale…I can dream.
  23. I agree with both opinions of TombraiderFTW & Shaggy about the latest batch…there is no justice that The Crypt ends up with a pin…I mean really, the parking lot trams were WAY more beloved and it doesn’t appear they will be getting a pin. And as for the Delirium one, I love the ride and was hoping for (finally) a nice pin of the ride…but it is basically a bigger version of the one from years ago…Delirium deserved better.
