  1. Whoops, sorry I killed a kitten by starting another post! I looked but didn't see that one.
  2. So, I've seen a lot of adults on here saying how awesome the Peanuts will be, but to those with kids under the age of 8, do any of your kids like the Peanuts? I turn on the specials every holiday and even Netflix them and my kids are totally not interested. They're 4 year old twins. Truly, after watching as an adult, a little kid probably can't even really "get" them til about age 6. On the other hand, my kids of course knew who Dora, Diego, Little Bill and Backyardigans were. I can't even see making the trip this year, and that's sad, because they enjoyed it so much before. Think I'll hit one of the indoor water parks instead.
  3. Thanks for the tips! I know last year they didn't check our stroller and I brought in juices since my kids don't drink soda. But since we're bringing a wagon instead this year they might check, I'm not sure.
  4. Hi all, we're planning a KI trip this summer for our family (husband, twins age 3, possibly some grandparents). Unfortunately my husband has recently taken a huge pay cut, so we're trying to save as much as possible, but really want to give the kids at least a small vacation, so it's KI and the aquarium. Does anyone have any money saving tips? We're using hotel points for our hotel stay, and plan to keep some food in the car for snacking, but we'll have to at least eat one meal in the park, and probably some drinks. What meal areas give you the best bang for your buck? Same for drinks... and any other money saving information. Also, can anyone tell me what days of the week are least busy in teh summer? I'm assuming of course M-Thurs, but is one of those days less hectic than the others? Thanks so much for your help! We came last year but money wasn't an issue so we didn't pay much attention to prices.
  5. Hi, just got back from a trip Saturday, and while I had a fab time, I was thoroughly disappointed with The Crypt. There were 5 of us total, and only two had ridden when it was TR. We got the other three all psyched for it, and it broke down two different times before we finally could ride. Once we got in there, I was disappointed. Instead of all the great theming and the "storyline" of going through the tombs, there's practically nothing but darkness and cement now. Even the floor is literally nothing but cement and a big drain. Are there plans for new theming in there???
  6. Thanks for the info, I'll just pack all their snacks and stuff into the stroller. BTW, what is the Parent Swap program? I looked at the KI site to see but couldn't find it. Thanks again!
  7. Hi all, I'm new here, so forgive me if I repeat a previous thread. I looked around and didn't see on on this topic, so here goes. This weekend I'm taking my twin two year olds to KI, along with DH and MIL. We're staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. The twinkies are big for their age (36 inches tall) and I've looked at the KI site and it appears they can ride a lot of stuff. But I still have a few questions, as I've never travelled there with kids, just on several pre-kid trips. So here are my questions: 1. what are the rental strollers like? We have a Graco double stroller but if the rentals are better we'll leave the double. 2. are there a lot of Nick rides that young toddlers will ride without being scared? 3. what are the don't miss attractions? 4. Do the characters walk around/do meet and greets? My kids might die if they get to meet Dora and Diego in person and maybe get a pic. 5. how strict is the "don't bring in outside food/drink?" I saw in an infant thread that they're more lenient with babies, but what about toddlers? I was thinking of bringing some frozen juice boxes and trying to sneak in some water. 6. Should we even consider Boomerang Bay or is it too big for two year olds? 7. Anything else I need to know?? Thanks in advance. We plan to show at park opening, play for about 3 hours, leave for nap time, then return probably about 3-4 and stay til their little legs give out.
