Well next time I am up at CP take my place on TTD because that drop back down backwards is WORST then going up and I never wanted to go on it in the first place! LOL

My aunt was stuck on Drop Tower at Carowinds for 5 hours when it mal-functioned. But I haver never seen it happen, I have been on TTD when its rolled back though.

My friend and I were talking about what we might do next summer....her coming here or me going back to Ohio. I am planning to attend the 10 yr HS reunion next year if we have one up there, but I really really really want to do both Kings Island and Carowinds and so does she with the 2 new rides coming to both parks. She hasn't been to Carowinds since we were in HS. But anyways we were talking about Firehawk and it turned into a convo about comparing those two and then me going into how it actually scared the living CRAP out of me. No roller coaster has done this before, (except when I went through the phase of being scared of them) but I have never screamed, cried, laughed so hard as I did on Nighthawk. Cedar Point, I thought those rides would scare me, but none did! I finally met my match on Nighthawk! So my ? to you....is there a ride out there that actually scared the living %&*! out of you?

I can't believe you paid $50 to go to HRP! We didn't even get a discount when we went, and you are supposively suppose to when you live in NC/SC. Whatever, hey the hotel you stayed at looked like the one we did. hehehe

It could've been different because the train could go out where you go up going where you face out looking out toward the lift instead of being on your back and not knowing. I wasn't sure, because I didn't go on Firehawk and didn't watch it after finding out you had to pay 75 cents for a locker! LOL (don't get me started....it was the same at Carowinds too) Am I wrong or does Firehawk have something for you to hold onto unlike Nighthawk? Nighthawk you have nothing and that scared me to death, just curious it looks like it does looking at teh pictures.

The day I was at Carowinds last week, 4 cars were broken into in the parking lot the day I was there. Its the same kind of ? about what do you pay all money to park, are they keeping a good eye there?!

Ok what I THOUGHT was the back of the train, was the the part that went up the hill first....get what I mean????? My aunt and I were in the row that went up the hill first and the guy that told us where to go to lane 6, which DUH is the back if you think about it, but it wasn't because it was fron going on that ride. But my brother was like in row 1 and I was in row 6, row 6 was front row going up that hill and row 1 to me was the last one. Get what I mean?

I didn't go on Firehawk at KI but I did go on Nighthawk (which is just like that) at Carowinds....we got 2 day passes when we went and so him and my brother's g/f went last week. Well they got on that and was sitting in the front and I was like oh you mean you were like the back which is the front. And he was like no it was the front. I was like no you were in the back. He was like no we rode in the front! Well when I went on Nighthawk we were in what you would call the back of the train, but it turned out to be the front. Am I making sense? he swore they were in the front going down the front hill, but unless the train there goes the other way, thats the only way I could see that. Sorry if this is confusing, but I am curious now.

Honestly the only time I really hard the music was I was standing there and not doing anything. Thats when I was standing there waiting for my brother, I didn't pay attention to it any other time.

I was at Carowinds yesterday, and heard some one say that they brought back a refill jug they bought on a previous visit. Dunno how they got that through the gate...cause they go through your bag....but we bought the jugs and refilled them once during that day.

I was at the water park at Carowinds yesterday and I saw more security personal in there than I did through out the park it seemed like. Everytime I turned around there was another one walking by me. I didn't see anything being there yesterday, but I was watching behind my back.

I took plenty of pictures, I still have to download them. There was some construction work going on over by Nighthawk, but that was the only thing I saw. Super Saturator's line was crazily long and it looked like they had 2 maybe 3 trains going. I went on that the year it opened and that has been it. But that rumor was being talked about there yesterday about it being torn down. My only complaint for the day was that Nighthawk only had one train going at the what seemed like "peak" of when people were going on it...when the park opened. Toward the end of the day there were 2 going and no line. The beauty of going yesterday, everyone was at the water park and so the lines for the rides weren't there even after the water park closed.

I just got home not long ago from the exciting day at Carowinds. I went with my aunt and 2 cousins....we got there about 11:00 and left at closing which was 8! Here's the highlights: -Nighthawk (1.5 hour wait) THE LONGEST WAIT OF THE DAY! We hit the ride first remembering that the lines got worse at KI as the day went on, NOT TRUE HERE! It scared the living crap out of me! First off we got to be in the first row and then we got to the top and it slowed down and almost like stopped it seemed and the next thing I know we were looking at the water and I felt like I was going to fall out of the straps. THis ride has nothing you can put your hands on to hold on too! That bothered me! -Vortex (rode it 4 tmes in 20 min) I love this ride! I love the stand up coasters, but hate that bicycle seat. The funny part was when my cousin and I rode together, we both had problems getting our seats to go down. -Carolina Cyclone (rode in front...next one on after getting up there) Great ride! Rode once because I had a headache already and my head got banged around on that one. -Afterburn (rode twice in a 10-15 minute period) Love it better than the Top Gun at Kings Island. We were going to buy the DVD of the ride, but they never had us on the screen so we backed out of that. -Drop Zone (got in in less than 10 minutes) Sat next to 2 SCREAMING girls. And had a scarcastic ride operator, but loved it! Haven't been on the one at Carowinds in forever! -Ricochet (5-10 min wait) I don't recall ever going on this ride! But had a good time...rode with 2 people going to Cedar Point next week. We didn't go on Hurler or Thunder Road because of the heading pounding! I did go on Fairly Odd Coaster, loved that when it was Scooby Doo...rode some of the kiddy park rides with my little cousin. WE did go to the water park also...but after two slides, I got banged up on the last slide I went down and got hurt and I was done after that. But the crowds weren't that bad, minus the water park.

LongLive- That slide he/she is referring to is a body slide and when i was there the lifeguard sent 2 people down for having a shirt on. Plus you aren't missing out on that slide AT ALL! I banged my head on the slide when I came down into the pool.

My aunt and uncle's nieghbors were at Carowinds and wintessed this. My aunt is all like we aren't going to the water park and I am like are you NUTS in this heat I am! That is disgusting, kind of makes you question security at parks if they didn't find that disturbing.

My aunt and possibly 3 other people are heading to Carowinds on Wednesday! I am so excited! I haven't been to the park since Richochet opened.

I just read the articles about this after looking at one of the SF websites. Why would anyone jump a fence to get a lost item?! I almost lost an earring on Vortex, but heck I would've lost it and been like it was my own doing. I feel for the family and all, but sounds like it was the kids stupid choice to do what he did and he paid, sadly, with his life. Fences are there for a reason and the signs are there to make you aware that you aren't suppose to enter.

First....Tazmanian Typhoon... My brother told me about this but I find it hard to believe....that some one flew out of the inner tube where you drop into the funnel type thing. (my friends say it reminds them of the slide at Six Flags) I asked some one when in line who has a season pass if they heard anything about it and they said no. But my thought was, if that had happen, it would've been closed down. It didn't happen the day I went, but my brother says the day he, my niece and cousins went some one flew out of it, but wasn't killed, but was injured (obviously). I was just curious....

might I suggest you wear flip flops or anything on your feet and deal with hanging onto them. I wish I kept my flip flops on when I was in the water park, I had packed the flip flops just incase, but didn't want to wear them in the park. But my feet got so torn up from the pavement and the stuff they put down to help with the sliding on the steps....that it would be worth to hang onto them. I did hear the lifeguards tell kids to take them off and hold on to them on the slides. After I got home and found my feet blistered and torn up, I really had wished I wore them!

Thanks I guess I will find out when I go in 2 weeks. i think it is crazy to make you put stuff in a locker to go on a ride, they should have the bins at every ride.

The only doubt I have for this ride is its jerkiness! My friend's neck got messed up on this ride when we went the 24th and my back was messed up not even getting to the chain hill. Ya know there were so many rumors about Vortex being torn down that day, I wouldn't be shock if they have to re-evaluate SOB if people start complaining more about it. It seemed like it worked with Flight of Fear cause they got the restraint system changed.

Does this apply for Borg (dunno the new name at Carowinds) too?
