^^I agree with you. I just got back from Cedar Point yesterday afternoon. It was my first ever trip up there and got on everything I wanted to except for Maverick so that would be my first ride on a day like that. Hopefully I will be able to get another trip up there sometime and hopefully the waits aren't as bad as they were Wednesday.
I was thinking about attending this event but decided not to and its a good thing I did. I will still be at the park but I will actually be working as I just got hired into Food & Beverage. I've heard a few comments about Jukebox Diner on here but even if you don't like the food from there you should all come by and say "Hi" to me as that is where I was assigned to work.

^^Yesterday (Friday) it seemed pretty common as the crew was trying so hard to break the capacity record for the hour as they did it for about 3 or 4 straight hours. I didn't even ride at that point, just standing at the exit watching how fast the crew was moving was giving me enough thrill.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet but if you are at the park in the morning, in front of the fountains at the Kings Island sign, the National Anthem is now performed live instead of the recording that nobody could ever really hear.
It is performed by one cast member each day from either Down Home Country or County Line. I will have a video up asap showing the singing of our National Anthem from today (Saturday)

Second year running - County Line is still the best show at Kings Island.
Thank you Ryan. Somebody with the same opinion as me. I loved County Line last season, and love it even more this season.
The cast this season is also VERY friendly as I have seen the show over 20 times this season and even watched 5 out of the 6 showings of it Monday the 27th and after every show, I will go up and talk to the cast and they seem to really enjoy having me around for all of the shows.
If this was last season I may have picked Flashback: Totally 80's. I thought the show was very well done last season but now this season I just can't get into the show.
Endless Summer I think is the best it has ever been. The skaters are VERY talented and seem to just enjoy the show alot more than previous seasons.
Down Home Country I enjoy, I just don't like older style country music. Most of the songs I am not a big fan of but I think just the way the show is performed by the cast really makes me enjoy it.
I have yet to see Marty's Party though. Once my younger cousin comes into town in a couple of weeks, I will try to take her into it as I really want to see the show with all of the great comments I have heard about it.

100% The only thing that just about got me was the question about Rick Wallenda. I always forget if he broke his fathers or grandfathers record.

Monster is the only ride that makes me the slightest bit dizzy. That's mainly because I shift my weight to one side and try to get it to spin, thats what makes the ride fun
-
I noticed going up the hill on DB that it sorta wiggles back and forth. A snake-like movement I thought that was pretty cool. Kinda funny how you don't notice things like that until you ride several times.
I have noticed what you are talking about but didn't notice it until like my 10th time on it.
Another thing I notice and I know other people have noticed is when you get to the top of the lift hill on Diamondback you feel a slight hesitation, especially the further back you are sitting in the train, when that happens the front of the train is starting to crest the top of the lift hill.

After a little bit of research, The Beach actually bought 2 slides from the old Wyandot Lake so maverick2007 was correct. The Beach received Jet Stream and Zuma Falls after they were auctioned off and it was rumored that one of them were going to be installed for this season.
Below is a picture of the pieces that I saw. Again not really the best picture but you can see what I was talking about.
-
According to screamscape they bought one of the old Wyandot Lake slides.
Maybe thats what we'll see in a year or so.
When I went to Bob Evans a few weeks ago I saw what appeared to be pieces for an enclosed water slide in the field across the street from there. I'm not sure if that is exactly what I saw and I had no idea if they were parts to an old water slide that they had or if it was possibly for a new slide that they would put in. Since I had no idea I took pictures of it but the quality isnt the best. Ill try to upload them if I can if you guys want me to.
I'll do a little more research on this slide that screamscape says they bought and see if it could match what I saw.

When you pull up the homepage look off to the right where the park sponsors are and you will see something that says follow Kings Island. Click on that and it will give you the link to everything in order to follow Kings Island.
To make it easier though for now I will give you the link though. Kings Island Insider

Great TR Mark. Im sorry I'm just trying to remember who exactly you were. When you meet 15 new people at once its hard to remember who exactly was who. Nice meeting you nevertheless. Glad you had fun in our big group

Some of the more dumber things but yet it still gets people to laugh.
1) The older man that usually works either the carousel or the Tower most of the time, I believe his name is Mike. Every day he works the tower and is the actual driver of the elevator, when there is a good sized crowd inside he will go over the rules, facts, etc then he will put his back to everybody in the elevator, take the mic, and make a farting noise into the mic to try to make people laugh while going up.
2) The second one is also from the Tower but a different guy driving, he was trying to fit 3 more people into the elevator so when trying to get everybody to scoot back he says, "Ok, I need everybody to step towards the back of the elevator, don't be afraid to squish the person behind you and no pull my finger jokes."
The second one actually got a little chuckle out of me as I would most likely be the one to say something like that if I was the employee.
I just thought of another one, a couple years back, me and my cousin were back at the viewing area of WWC, before they installed the new cannons that guests can shoot, one lady whose name slips my mind loved to have fun with the guests viewing and the guests inside the boats.
Anytime a boat would come she would look at the number and say "Hi boat number (insert number here)" If they started talking to her she would just talk back but if there was a boat that didn't say anything to her, she would fire the cannon at least 5 times and would get everybody absolutely DRENCHED!! After getting done soaking people from one boat she suddenly said, "I love my job, its a very good stress reliever because I get to come in and press a button that says cannon and soak people"

Anyone else think that this woman is trying to garner public support so that she can have a lawsuit land her some money?
Would not surprise me one bit. Unfortunately there are many people now that will do anything to get some extra money. It blows my mind some of the lawsuits people file against theme parks, grocery stores, and places like that to earn extra cash.

One has to take some responsibility for your own actions, know your surroundings at all times and use common sense. Flying debris is the biggest concern during this type of emergency; so any building you go into is better than nothing.
I COMPLETELY agree with what you just said. I'm sorry but Mrs. Felix needs to try to put herself in the shoes of Kings Island. You try getting 10,000+ guests into certain shelters around the park with sometimes not even 1/5 of that number of employees.
I was not there that night but what I have heard so far from MANY people, I believe Kings Island did the best that they could. Just like what MarketingExpress said, this isn't a common occurence in this area, tornadoes don't get this close to the park everyday nor do they every year for that matter.
Like you said hamoperator, you need to know your surroundings, if there is a tornado warning, common sense in this situation is NOT to stand under the awning at the front entrance. If you hear a tornado warning or even just a severe thunderstorm warning, it is said to always take shelter in a sturdy structure which Kings Island has MANY, and there are alot of them right there close to the entrance.
I'm sorry but I think people just lose their minds when it comes to some things like this. They think that somebody HAS to take care of THEM all the time which is NOT true. (Sorry for the all caps, just trying to make a point)
Kudos to all of the employees at Kings Island for doing the best job that they could in this situation and also kudos to those guests who listened to those employees and also doing what you needed to on your own to get to shelter in the park.

^^^One of his friends I believe. Thats the only Josh I can think of

^^^The two links I am giving you go to the member profiles of the two people I was talking about who are both ride op's on Diamondback.
Both have pictures of themselves on their profiles, Gabriel (Gabe for short) is the one you saw as you can see in the picture.

^^The Gabe you are referring to is Captain Nemo here on the forums. There is also another ride op named Cory who is known as Cory Butcher here on the forums as well. Hope this helps

I don't care if they go back to handing out passes and disallowing groups
This is EXACTLY how I feel about the whole situation, at least with the passes groups that were in the main queue already couldn't just jump into the SRL like they are now. Like everybody else has said something needs to be done about the jumping from the main queue to SRL or vice-versa.
IMO, they need to start having two security guards posted inside the queue area. I believe that if they have one security guard pretty much at the bottom of the stairs at that turn to watch, it will limit the number of guests jumping from one line to the other as that is the main area in which you see this happening. Also I believe that another needs to be posted INSIDE the queue area, keeping people from trying to reach their friends with ice cream cones, beverages, things like that because I see that way too often and if you try to tell a security guard 1) They aren't even watching the line as they are outside of it and 2) They wont even do anything because they weren't watching and they didn't see it happen.
I have been in line for Diamondback many times and have seen guests tell a security guard about a line jumper and that security guard just looks around then walks away and doesn't even care about it. I know what I said about the 2 security guards posted in the queue wont KEEP people from line jumping but I believe it could be an effective way to try to keep the number of line jumpers down.

Well, it doesn't look like a Tornado has ever hit KI...Microbursts, yes, Tornado no...I guess the park is in a good location to avoid them.
That's good.
And if a Tornado did ever hit The Beast/Racer...they had better fix any damage and re-build it exactly as it is!
Although I'll bet there are people who want one to hit SOB...
I wish everyone would leave the Son of Beast alone!!!
When I read that, all I thought of was this video .
Even better is
video right here. Unless this is the one you meant. Sorry Gabriel just had to put this up...No, I posted the one I meant. I hadn't seen the SOB one before you posted it.
I wasnt sure if you meant to put the SOB one up and it posted the original one or not. Thats why I asked about it. I think the SOB one is just hysterical though and makes a good point at the same time.

I've been on Zephyr a couple of times when the ride ops were playing Simon Says with the guests on the ride. It was quite fun actually.
Last summer my cousin and I were the next ones on Firehawk in Row 5 when all of a sudden the driver started beat boxing and all of the other ops started dancing to "Jump On It" This was one of the days I remember the most from last summer.
Also while I was in line for Son of Beast a couple weeks ago the ride op kept saying "Welcome back (insert train color) train, how was your ride?" Of course many people did not respond and his reaction was "Yeah I'll give you a little time to recoup after that ride" then he would say, "Ladies and Gentleman welcome to the Son of Beast, The only ride in Kings Island guaranteed to give you a headache"
I laughed at his statement and at the same time I saw pkiboy in the station agreeing but I still dont think its that bad of a ride. Just a normal wooden coaster that beats you around like it should in my opinion

Sorry Gabriel just had to put this up.As for the whole storms and tornadoes situation, I thought it was funny but kind of scary at the same time that I was really close to asking to go up to the park yesterday evening. I think it would have been interesting to see what Kings Islands procedure was for tornadoes first hand but glad I didn't have to experience it.
Me and my family were at Texas Roadhouse in Milford when we saw the first storm that went just north of there. We went over to Walmart and right when we got out of the car we heard the sirens start going off and learned that there was a Tornado Warning for South Central Clermont and a funnel had been spotted going towards Bethel.
At around a quarter 'til 9 I received a call from my Girlfriend saying that the first storm hit Goshen head on and that it had straight-line winds with it but nothing else. Suddenly around 9 I look out the front doors of Walmart and find that it is PITCH BLACK outside so I tell my mom that I was going out to see it and sure enough just to the North was a HUGE storm and not even a minute after that the Sirens started going off again and we learned that we were the ones under the Tornado Warning this time. After this we raced our ways to our home in Goshen and quickly turned on the TV and sat in the basement.
Overall just pouring rain and a little bit of hail was all we got but indeed a very scary situation that unfolded last night and I am most certainly glad that everyone was ok and that nothing major happened to anybody not only on here but everybody else around the area.

Awesome video guys! I am with Kat on this one, I loved the ending and I knew seeing Jackson in that video that he was planning to do something to somehow get on camera and say something like that. Very great video and looking forward to seeing more in the future.
I just remembered, I actually knew a couple of the girls you talked to towards the beginning of the video as I also live in Goshen myself. I never thought I would see anybody else from Goshen on any kind of video involving Kings Island or Diamondback but I though it was pretty cool to see them in the video.

46 for me, I think I can get 4 rides in today. I will be up there in about a half an hour and I am determined to get to at least 50. The reason I'm making it seem hard is because were planning on going to Boomerang Bay and my baby cousin is with us so were spending a lot of time in Nick. I think I can make it though

Had an awesome time Friday. I really wish it wouldve ended up raining but oh well, once the buses started to clear out everything was fine. Those two rides on Zephyr then the one on Shake, Rattle, & Roll were not the best decisions, especially after not feeling well coming off of Flight of Fear. But hey at least we didnt end up like the guy on the exit ramp of Diamondback.
We need to get another date set to go and maybe get some more members to come. I had fun Friday despite the crowds and it was nice meeting you also skaterboy!
It's a Mid Summer's SCREAM!

Hey if I had a SoB shirt I would wear it. I wouldn't care what anybody else thought, I personally like the ride and would like it to stay.
Hope everybody that is attending the event next weekend has an awesome time. I've been to all 3 KIC events in the past 2 years and had a blast at all of them. Not to mention, as others have said also, even though there isn't alot planned for the people that are going, the backstage tours, ERT times, etc are not all what really make these events so enjoyable, its the chance of meeting new people, meeting other members of the KIC universe, and spending time with friends and family that really makes these events truly enjoyable.
