  1. Boy did you dig up some old videos
  2. New stage?? there is no new stage in that area.
  3. Ironic....especially given the fact that Silverwood didn't buy the e-platform. In fact I think I remember reading that they were told there were some changes made to the coaster that would make it un-necessary.....guess not.
  4. Most likely due to the fact that a majority of our theming was actual props from the Tomb Raider movie and had to be removed when the liscene was lost. I believe that KD's theming was simply build for the ride and had nothing to do with the actual movie. I could be wrong, but that seems like the best reasoning.
  5. Yes the greenhouses are owned by the park, and the landscaping department uses them to grow their own flowers for the park. I'm not sure I would say that those crates are necessarliy for Kings Island....I think they are on the "other side" of the property fence and more in the area that is Great Wolf now.
  6. More likely the second coming of the KI Event that was started last year.
  7. It is interesting to me that the LA times has confirmed that Knott's Berry Farm is recieving the Club Blood attraction this year after we opened it here at KI last year. CF made such a big deal last year over our "new" event from the "Creative minds of Knott's Berry Farm's Halloween Haunt"....yet now they are recieving 2 attractions and a show that are Kings Island created...hmmm, sounds like we must be doing something right on our own, lol. LA Times
  8. Contrary to popular belief they were not dressed up as clowns like the circus. Here is a link to a picture from the history section showing the clown band from the 70's. Historical Photo

    New track?

I did not notice the piece of the lift hill the first time throught.....you do seem to be right though, seems like a standard side coaster and not an invert like the flyer would need.....interesting.

    New track?

Most likely track for Sea World Orlando's newest coaster Manta. Rumored to be a B&M Flying coaster
  11. Man...I would love to get ahold of a video copy of Celebration. I have the record the the park made of the show, but would love to see the visuals.
  12. Anyone looking for more detailed information about this project and the progress, including some construction shots can find it here: Details & Pictures Also, as an aside....you may recognize one of the names on the list of people who are running this FEC, Bill Balfoure used to be the head of the Entertainment department for Kings Island.
  13. In Case you havent heard Kings Island....even under Paramount operation has had award winning shows as well.....there are many IAPPA Awards in the administration office for shows at Kings Island.
  14. You will be pleased with the offerings from the Entertainment department this year.....trust me ;-)
  15. Except that the Yogi cosume wasnt tossed in 2005. Besides....the spongebob costume would have been god awful for someone to try to skate in. You have to still have a decent range of motion and mobility in the costume in order to skate in it, and with the spongebob costume the performer would loose all upperbody motion...not good for a skater.
  16. Geez....and people were complaining about the pricing at Winterfest. This event costs $15, only has 6 activities, and most of those you have to pay extra for. That being said.....I love going to these sort of events and I hope that the Beach has a successful year!
  17. Now...I dont know anything about this since I havent been to the park in the last week or so.....BUT, given the direction this truck is going and the relative location of the sign in the background it would appear that this truck was heading to the back acess road entrance located next to the premier parking area. This is the road that leads back behind Timberwolf Amplitheatre and runs all the way back to the woods, and right passed the boneyard where the G-Trains are being held. Hmmm
  18. I'm sorry I do not have a photo to show....but I have seen it with my own eyes today. The whole top part of the sign, not just the mountain and "Paramount", but the entire neon Kings Island part is gone. All that remains is the top of the support bars above the "scrolling sign" section. Also removed are the decorative aspects of the sign, the iron work beneath the arch and the parts that made the sign look like collumns.
  19. EXCEPT>.....I am pretty sure (if I remember correctly) that if you turn over that magical season pass you would find the phrase "not valid for FearFest" So, no....it wasnt a perk.
  20. Because they charge a seperate admission charge to the event....which means that they wont have 40,000 people in the park on any night . Obviously less people = shorter lines = more time to do the attractions. Thats not really the fault of the park. After all...Kings Island wanted to charge seperate admission this year, but gave in to all the whiny season pass holders and other GP who complained about the possibility of being charged for it.
  21. Actually....its not about what they hear, I believe the complaint was that they SAID the "F" word....which they dont, thats the point I am making. People who dont listen carefully enough to understand what is said, shouldnt be a reason for the park shouldnt be a reason for the park to come under fire. Kevin and the Entertainment department, believe it or not....are very aware of the products they put on display, and should not be criticized over something someone mis-heard.
  22. Ok....I've stayed out of this for awhile, but I feel I must put in a little input. First of all, this show's "plotline", much like many theme park shows, is open to interpretation. The show is not designed to have a plot slap you in the face and say "here I am!" This is not a 2 hour broadway show that you pay $100 to see. Although I think that many people have agreed on the general idea that the show is built upon. As for the discussion about the "B" word and the "F" word. Ultimately the answer for the "B" word is yes....it was originally in the show, its part of the song that was not originally deemed necessary to censor, and it is a word that the park felt was ok to use in the adult-oriented event. As for the "F" bomb, I can say with 100% certainty that it was NEVER used in the show.....in fact it is one of the few words that is still deemed too explict for use even at this adult event. I know for a fact that they say the word "Funk" and not F**K. This is the radio-edit version of the song that they use in Dead Awakening, if you look on Lyrics on Demand you will find that this is also what the song is referred to as on the CD cover. Lyrics On Demand As for people leaving the show in the middle....as many others have stated here, this is a common occurance for ANY theme park show, especially ones in an outdoor venue. The average theme park guest will only remain attentive to this style of show for 15-20mins, and most are not at the park just to see a show, they see it as something to do while they take a break. So dont think that the walk-outs are an indication of the shows popularity or failure, take a look at the ratio between the good guest comments vs. the guest complaints....the good ones prevail.
  23. You can't "up" the capacity of these attractions. At least, not the ones located inside of buildings. All the buildings have maximum capacity ratings set by fire codes which they can not go over. Now...on the other hand, they could up capacity on the outdoor attractions.....but then everyone would wine about the constant "conga-line"
  24. Why would they need to get rid of it because its "kinda x-rated"?? The park advertises it as an Adult Oriented Haunted Attraction. Plain and Simple their going to push the envelope. The actors in there are actually wearing more and less revealing clothing then was originally planned. They are suppose to be sexy, yet creepy at the same time. And just because you found it boring doesnt meant the general public all feels that way. I couldnt count the amount of people running out of their yelling about how awesome it was and how they loved it. It doesnt necessarily have to be "scary" for it to be fun. Club Blood relies more on the creepy and shock value.
