  1. Firehawk's throughput is my biggest turn off. After waiting and baking for a good half hour or more, I don't get much thrill out of it.
  2. Remember when construction projects were mysterious and you only knew what the company showed you. Oh internet and widespread inclusion of cameras in phones
  3. I miss the combination of Jeffery Seibert and Paramount's media muscle.
  4. Old news. The green track at the Ohio manufacturing plant is probably not relevant to Kings Island, so it'd be advisable to just throw that idea out the window. Is it another Mega Coaster? Let's not forget Cedar Fair was maladroit enough to build two B&M Mega Coasters back-to-back in Canada's Wonderland.... so anything is possible with this companies inane thought process.... Forgive the large picture, I couldn't save it and crop it down to show just the shack.
  5. I hope you can have happiness return to your life. Anyway, somewhat back on topic. Is that little shack below Son of Beast's station a gas pump?
  6. Oh to be a young amuesment park enthusiast. The older you get, the less important these facts are to you. It may make you feel unique or part of a group now, but you'll later realize that it's all trivial. So, you spouted some piece of information to a guest and they were impressed. Or, you felt like an insider because you talked about something with a park employee. Once your life's focus turns to paying bills, keeping your job and making sure you can survive on your own, the thrill of knowing these things dies.
  7. So, I have 100 likes now. Did I win the internet?

  8. In my professionial internet amuesment park forum user opinion, I'd say those are supports for an inverted coaster.
  9. The grass and trees under Top Gun look fantastic. I would really love to see some trees and landscaping brought in on this project.
  10. I can understand leaving the Skyride one, it's in water and by the deck. The Cobra ones aren't exactly in a difficult to get to place and aren't exactly astheticly pleasing. Though for all I know it could be costly to remove them
  11. I wonder if they'll finally demolish the remaining King Cobra footers.
  12. Son of Beast gets my vote, I loved it in it's original form. Tomb Raider bored me even when it was fully operational.
  13. Intamin doesn't have the best track record.
  14. I wonder if we will see any new trees in 2013 ... I just made myself sad . In all seriousness, I don't think there will be any new attractions for 2013, given the demolition of Son of Beast.
  15. I always love the sound of Top Gun's brakes, tiss pew pew, tiss pew pew
  16. I wonder how often the wood was treated for termites
  17. The photos and videos that aren't allowed to be taken at the park are ones taken by cameras brought on the ride by riders. On ride photos taken by the park and sold as souvineirs are fine.
  18. Indeed, and this isn't a direct comment to anyone here but in general people think they are entitled to everything. You should be grateful that the park is even releasing the images and videos of this demolition. I remember coming to the park opening day in 2002 and seeing King Cobra in pieces and being heartbroken because I had no idea that the ride was leaving. They are doing the fans and community a favor and I for one am thankful for the time they take out of their days to share with us.
  19. I find I only need a top three for each category. Steel 1: Diamondback (Kings Island) 2: Incredible Hulk Coaster (Islands Of Adventure) 3: Dueling Dragons (Islands Of Adventure) B&M trend Wooden 1: Thunderhead (Dollywood) 2: Voyage (Holiday World) 3: Legend (Holiday World)
  20. I want to know why so many people want a coaster in Son of Beast's plot for next year. Personally, I would be a lot happier with the park using the land to expand and possibly connect to X-Base. I'll take new rides, shops, eaterys, restrooms and landscapes over one new coaster any day,
  21. I hope I'm not the only one who was thinking, "Is this just a thirty second video of the structure sitting, OH WOW, nevermind"
  22. I don't think I've ever been stuck on a coaster at Kings Island. I did however get stuck on Tomb Raider: The Ride when it had an error mid ride and returned to it's prone position. We waited for about ten to fifteen minutes for maintainence to come and unlock the restraints. It wouldn't of been that bad if they would of turned off the looping drum music
  23. Not nessicarily, heights are a big fear issue for some people. Just remember to not feel pressured or that you are letting the people you are with down if you don't feel comfortable enough to ride a ride yet. When you are ready, you'll know
  24. There are many factors to consider. Coaster clubs like ACE have been rendered obsolete in certain ways by the internet and the abundance of communities that can be created at will. As for enthusiasts, everyone grows up and moves on to new things in life. Just in my lifetime I've gone from being the diehard rollercoaster fanatic, to an adult who still enjoys parks and rides but doesn't center his life around them. You also have an econonmy that's not in the greatest shape, so parks are doing their best to cater to the largest possible audience to sustain their business. Spending twenty million on a record breaking roller coaster may bring an influx or visitors short term, but it's not going to help your business as much as families or broad appeal will. I think the enthusiast population will always exist but it won't be as predominant as it was. When you can learn about any coaster, park, manufacturer etc. with the click of a mouse, it's hard to really be that much more in the know than anyone else
