  1. I seen a few jumpers myself this year. More so far this year then all of last year for me.
  2. I'm a front seat kinda guy, but from time to time I like to change it up. I have done back seat on all my favorite coasters, and there is a big difference. A few weeks ago a friend and me rode the back seat of Vortex for the first time; it was weird and cool how your pulled thru the inversions, I wasn't planning on that! Oh, and I did SOB in the back seat once..... once.
  3. I say bring on the coaster, but for a place called Kings "Island" there sure isn't much water around!
  4. If it bleeds it leads. So sad, but true.
  5. I will say, I can't complain in anyway about the employees of Kings Island. I haven't ran across anything negative with any worker this year so far. All with smiles and kindness, now I never worked in a amusement park but I have had jobs that deal with the public, to keep a smile takes work.
  6. Sound like Fun! Just kidding, The TV is going to be how I see the jump. Being how gas prices are, from Columbus it cost me about 20 bucks in gas alone for a Kings Island trip and I was just there friday, and I got my riding in. Next trip for me will be sometime in June.
  7. Ya I have notice that a couple times this year with them only running 2 trains on Vortex and Beast, must be a Cedar Fair thing, and I agree with you I don't like it. I'm not a real big fan of long lines and I tend to go to the park when I know it's dead just so I can walk on most my favorite rides and then leave. With only 2 trains on Beast and Vortex, both these rides get long lines even on a slow day. I went to Cedar Point this week and it was the same thing. 2 trains on MF! and only 2 on magnum XL-200. Lame, lame, lame. It was somewhat slow that day at Cedar Point but the line for MF was over a hour by noon. Is Cedar Fair not happy unless there guest waist half there day standing in line? If that's the case and I keep seeing this kinda thing this year it could keep me from buying a pass from them next year.
  8. I was there, it was packed, full of students from all over. Not many cars in the parking lot, all busses. I got there at opening, it was cold, first ride for me was FOF, they had all the lights on for some reason. I then did Vortex and then Beast, with a Scrambler ride to boot. Did that from 10 to 11:30. I then stood in line for SOB for one hour, after that I took off.
  9. I was at Cedar Point today, Platinum Pass work just like at my home park. Even got my early ride times. I rode MF and Raptor, both in the front seat before the park even opened.
  10. I'm going to the point tomorrow, I'm on Vacation.
  11. SOB BADLY NEEDS A THIRD TRAIN! Most the commments I have heard in the park the last few times I been there, most don't remember what happen with SOB a few years ago, and I agree the lines are getting a little long for that ride. I didn't even ride it yesterday because the line was crazy. There have been many times when I'm waiting at the station and both trains are out on the coarse, could be loading a third one. A coaster that big needs three trains.
  12. To be as kind as possible, I will just say, I'm not impressed!
  13. If there's bring a friend day is only those 2 days, that's real lame! I was going to use that to try to talk my mother on to a rollercoaster, and I know Mother's day she won't be going to Kings Island!
  14. Go to Exit 19 on I-71 just south of Kings Island, lots of eating places and cheap! Well cheaper then if you eat in the park. Me and a Buddy went there today, eat at the Golden Corral, all you can eat shrimp, good eating!
  15. Ya I was told the same thing, But I know last year we still had to sign in if we were from another park, I'm just wondering if maybe by chance they did away with that time consuming worthless step and just let us get are card scanned like anyone else. It would seem to me in the world of computers, there computers at Cedar Point would be on the same page as the computers at Kings Island. Although last year I thought the same way and was quite amused with how out of step some parks were. I know it's gone now but I went to Geuaga Lake many times last year and it was never a computer used, they were in the dark ages!
  16. I have made it down to Kings Island twice so far this season and every time I'm there I make sure to ask for info on the gold perks, and if the little booklet is ready to go. Today I was told there won't be a booklet but a small little thing for each month. Well the one for May says, and I'll type this out word for word... GOLD PASS SPEED LANE: May 31st - August 30th. Every Saturday the first 1500 Gold Passholders to stop by the Return Visit Booth on these days can pick up a Gold Pass Speed Lane ticket day that will allow them to speed past the lines on Delirium, Drop Tower, Backlot Stuntcoaster, and Wild Thornberry's River Adventure. Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Last year there was a speed lane for The Beast. If there isn't one this year I don't see myself going there ever on a Saturday, way too crowded for me. Also I keep seeing something about us getting to bring someone with us at a discounted price with are pass. Anyone got a clue what that discount is and/or what days that is possible? ...and while I'm on the perk thing, I got a Platinum Pass and I plan on going up to Cedar Point during it's first week open, being I'm on vacation and I plan on taking avantage of the Joe Cool early ride times there, are passes give us those perks this year but does anyone know how that will work out, or do I just find out when I go to guess relations I mean guest relations up there the first time I head that way? By the way, it was wonderful at the park today, seemed the crews on The Beast and Vortex where really fast and good. One thing my friend notice, for a park that calls itself King's "Island" there sure doesn't seemed to be much water around! A lot of footers though!
  17. Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion is a copy, now I will give you that Racer is a few years older, and we have the ACE sign.
  18. I like coasters that are completely unique to a park, we really only have three that are like no other, 'The Beast", "SOB", and one of the best arrow loopers "Vortex". All three I ride everytime I'm in the park.
  19. I felt the Red Racer was real smooth as well but it seemed the Blue Racer was much faster, at least on the ride I was on. Both trains left the station about the same time, infact I think the red train was a little early but the blue one got back to the station much sooner then the red.
  20. In Line for Flight of Fear a young teen girl ask me " Is this ride fast?"
  21. NO NO NO, The restraint system is there to cover Kings Island. They are not going to get sued for the restraint system, now they might of if someone got hurt on one of these rides and they didn't have it. The Scrambler is one of my favorite rides, and it date's back to the 50's as far as they ride design goes, but they too have seat belts now, Kings Island is just trying real hard to keep everyone safe.
  22. Maybe KI should start putting a seat out in front of the ride line like at Cedar Point on Flight Deck and Vortex, and let the public know the restraint system has changed over the years. Standing in line for a ride only not to be able to ride it must suck, but they do have laws, people tend to be "Sue" happy and KI has to cover there ass.
  23. Sounds like about the same day I had. I agree that the Red Racer was killer smooth and were they put the on ride photo on SOB was kinda stupied. Top Gun opps Flight Deck looks alfull, needs paint real bad. Maybe green track with blue post's or something, the flightdeck decal doesn't match the train.
  24. I was there. Seemed a little crowded to me but otherwise a good first day. Rode The Beast first, then Vortex, Red Racer, SOB and Flight Deck. All the Woodies seemed real smooth to me, Sonny was the worse with Red Racer tracking real good. They were racing the trains but seemed the blue train was much faster. I would say a good first day.
