  1. Well. Let’s do a comparison. One is sometimes necessary before the other, one can sometimes be as exciting as the other and well most of the time you can sit on either.
  2. Unless it’s an Arrow coaster. Their coaster track was constructed on site, so it Would most likely be coming down in sheared pieces.... rest in pieces.
  3. Lol.... making room for the first children’s Giga...
  4. Yes. Flying Eagles had a farewell party, and if it is a coaster, edit: news travels fast...
  5. 4. “ILL fated demise” sounds like something is going to be “put to death” also just a bit of coincidental information, Canada’s Wonderland is changing the names of their Vortex coaster to something else for next year.
  6. Or that thing with the mini-coopers right behind it.
  7. I’m just pushing what I’d like to see. Wishful thinking in my part...lol. I guess I’m just being opto-pesimistic...
  8. The Freezer was like the Asylum with chainlink fences in a tent. The scare actors would block some pathways and direct people in different directions. It was dark and you could easily get separated from your group or get lost in the maze it was pretty fun. I mostly remember the cool themeing. You waited outside and the maze director(?) would give their spiel and then spin a vault handle on a vault door and open it with a cloud of fog coming from inside.
  9. A dive coaster would go pretty well in place of Vortex. It could follow the same lift hill path dive under the midway, loop over the path back into the ravine.
  10. The Fearfest name was also unique at the time until we got the generic sounding CF Haunt. Plus it goes along with the Winterfest name as well for a cohesive name theming.
  11. I see a multilevel parking garage, a city center with theaters and hotels, a “downtown” area with year round shops, an additional theme park and expansion of Soak City into a year round inside resort.
  12. There are two of the same videos on YouTube, one for Valley Scare and one for Worlds of Fun. Sounds a lot like the Busch Gardens attraction version called Alone. Alone looked like it would be interesting. The participant went through the Haunt.... well... alone. But it was an Upcharge attraction. This commercial says “through one of our scariest attractions” almost as if it is kind of a “pre-event” walk through and not a separate attraction. Personally, I think I can take on any of the attractions at KIs Haunt alone, and most likely I have a couple of times.
  13. Same here... it was scary enough in the dark. It looked like there was no fence at the edges so it felt like you were walking on a ledge.... talk about getting the willies...
  14. I would love to see the station reused. It’s one of the most themed stations in the park. I could see the first drop of this coaster following Votex’s current path, falling deeper into the ravine into a tunnel, circling under the midway, coming out of the ground and arching over the midway, back into the main ride area and continually using the ravine base. Heck make it with 7 inversions.... that would be a world record for dive coasters right?
  15. RMC AE? Hmmmmm has potential...with surprise inversions in the tunnels, me like.
  16. I know I’m breaking a cardinal rule around these parts, but I think the next ride to leave is Vortex, to be replaced with the worlds tallest and longest..... B&M Dive coaster. Excuse me while I run for the door...
  17. ^^ she’s busy chasing trains.
  18. Put “Everest” the Elf/Troll in the shed.
  19. He's absolutely right. The uniqueness of the attractions has been muddied with the corporate icons smacked all over them. It's a Small World has Disney characters throughout the attraction now, and most new attractions are based on TV shows and movies. They just don't seem to have a personal touch anymore. It has changed drastically since I first went to the park in 1979.
  20. Oopsie... lol. I’m always late to the party.
  21. For what it’s worth, here is a prediction for 2018 and El Niño weather. We appear to be in the very wet/cold band. I guess it’s the luck of the draw. https://unofficialnetworks.com/2017/07/31/2018-winter-weather-forecast-el-nino-or-la-nina/
  22. I would assume the rides scheduled to be open will remain open until the event is over, pending weather of course.
  23. Looks like they are testing some lights in the trees to the left of Rivertown Pizza right now. Check out the webcam.
