  1. Hey everyone, Maybe if you ask PR nicely they will release a couple of pictures, rather than taking chances to either PO the park, or get arrested. OR just be patient! Sometimes a little mystery to things makes the end result more rewarding.

***Also, I apologize if anyone felt this statement was directed towards them personally, I enjoy looking at all of the pictures and I’m just as excited to see what’s coming next year as all of you. Carry on....

I don't know how easy this would be, especially with the animated statues at the end of the ride but it would be an interesting change.

They could be German figures raising and lowering beer steins. Lol with song playing as you go up the hill:

  3. My questions:

    1. Oktoberfest needs some love, Will Kings Island be updating this area in the foreseeable future?

    2. What is the likelihood of seeing old themed area signs returning to each area?

    3. What is the likelihood of themed area music returning such as in German music  for Oktoberfest, Rag Time music for Coney Mall, Country music for Rivertown... etc.

    4. Will there be a return some day of stage shows for the different themed areas? Coney once had a magic show and Rivertown had a gazebo with live country music.

    5. Why were the water fountain features removed from lots of places in the park? (In front of Festhouse, in front of Killmart and the river in Rivertown?

    6. With a new chef, Will there be a return to foods unique to Kings Island and less food court franchises?

thats all I have for now. Lol

  4. Expedition Everest is a perfect example. One train is unloading while one is loading. Then a clean empty train moves forwards. FOF was designed to do that too but then when the restraints changed with seatbelts, the process began to drag A LOT. In the beginning an empty train was waiting in the tunnel and shortly after the launch it moved forwards to the station. Then with the seatbelts and loose items collection etc, it  (fo me) became more exciting to walk down the exit rather than torture myself with a long wait. With a giga, it would be cool to exit to a new platform rather than the station, and in the Firehawk area there is plenty of room for a creative exit plan.

  5. Lightning Rod has a launch hill, although it did have lots of issues initially and it’s not over 300ft high, it looks like a pretty smooth launch. The technology is there for a good launch. I’ve never ridden it so, for those who have, isbit an exciting launch?

  6. Not only is terrain an issue, Also consider that a path behind the scenes and so far from the main path could allow for patron mischief. Even Dino’s Alive had its issues. Once while walking the path near the back, my friend and I saw flashing blue lights on a police car on the access road behind the site and on a police car coming down from the Firehawk access. Shortly thereafter we saw the police walk someone to the FH police car in handcuffs. The opportunity to trespass is too great on paths so far from the main path. I could see a possible path between Delirium and Banshee to a bridge past AE to a tight path behind Racer to X-Base. Until there is a reason to use the back stage areas such as a hotel complex, campground, expanded theme area or a separate venue (new Ampithester) I’d dont see walking paths occurring back there.

Oktoberfest has been arguably the most neglected of the original 5 sections that debuted when the park opened in 1972 so bringing the area back to its former glory would be a welcomed return- especially if its done for the park's 50th anniversary.

I don’t know why, but when I read “the original 5 sections” I thought of Outpost Five.... but I digress.... anywho, maybe CF would consider a Gerstlauer for Oktoberfest?

  8. There is/was a wooden Rivertown sign somewhere. Let me see if I can locate that one too. If you are headed towards Planet Snoopy from The east is predominately Planet Snoopy.

edit: I cant find a picture online, it may have been removed around the renovation for Diamondback, it was originally near the Rivertown restroom on the island of land (that used to be the only direction into Rivertown, past the Restrooms) it was a sign that was stained a light green, and simple had the word Rivertown on it.

  9. @Imperial79 At one time all of them did. Octoberfest had signs right off international street. Coney of course and then Planet Snoopy was Hanna Barberra. Rivertown currently has one near RFYLCB, as well as X-Base. I’ll see if I can locate a picture of the Octoberfest sign.

edit: here is the Oktoberfest sign.

They could even do a coaster in that area.

A spinning Wildmouse coaster would fit in nicely with the theme...

Hope to see the Coney Mall sign return,

I’d personally like to see all of the themed area signs return.

  11. True. And Bellagio style shows in the fountain will be fantastic! Also.... does this new makeover include a new entry gate? Are they going to update the International restaurant too? Are they cutting out the trees? (I hope not). Perhaps they are adding additional shops and restaurants too or are they only updating facades.... hmmmm can’t wait to see the results.
