Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Racerrider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Does Vortex even have any switchbacks? I thought its just a que through the building and then around the side of the midway....but I think even with these switchbacks on DB, the line will be waaaaaaaaaay out into the midway, mabeye even for 2 whole seasons....like they said over and over, this is the "biggest" thing to happen in KI's history. -
SFOT now selling beer...
Racerrider replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
well don't we sell ber at the festhaus and at boomerang bay? I've obviously never bought any, but I don't remember if I did or did not see those "NO Alchohol beyond THIS point" signs -

It looks like there is some serious landscaping going on in the splashdown, well there are a few flatbed trucks there so either that or there is a hidden gas station or something..... -

Mystery Construction at Cedar Point

^^^Sorrry about that! I had no idea you guys were talking about gravity group when you said GCII. Sorry! and about the purple thing.....If they put one of those in at CP, you'll see something like LINE STARTS HERE FOR PURPLE COASTER right when you walk in, and in the little circle it'll say 6 1/2 hours! well mabye not that extreme, but you get the point -

The Beast in the Theme Park Insider best ride tournament
Racerrider replied to erniebald57's topic in Kings Island
how is The Beast losing? i just voted and we're down by like 10%!! there is no-way dinosaur is better than The Beast, I wouldn't even consider that a coaster just by looking at TPI's forums, it seems like the site is based around Orlando, which suprises me a bit, because there's this other state up north that practically OWNS the thrill-park business (COUGH ohio COUGH COUGH) -
I've been to many, and I have to say even though the rides are amazing at Kalahari Sandusky, it's impossible to get into the restaurants, because when they added new rooms with the sands, they added no new place to eat, and plus the service there is pathetic, so I have to say GWLMason is the best.

^i like that idea too, as long as they don't throw in a taco bell......that place is dispicable.

SFOT had a nice modern food court, and I think that LaRosas and Panda Express would fit nicely in one of those, mabeye with a taco cabana or a chipotle too though....

he thing i miss about the festhaus are the big projector screens. I'm not much of a country music fan so CF's "entertainment" in there kind of annoys me.

Mystery Construction at Cedar Point
Racerrider replied to Go Browns's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I never said i want it to happen, i said if Cedar Fair wanted it to happen. And you never know, after this whole economy mess gets back to normal some come-back company called 12 flags might try to compete with KI, but they'll probably fail miserably and pull another "geauga lake" Back on topic...I wonder if a gravity group woody like Boardwalk Bullet could fit in that space behind MF -

While CP may be weak in the area of wooden coasters, I have to say Blue Streak ranks with the best of the classic wooden coasters. T As to the rumored coaster at CP, I am hoping for a woodie like El Toro. Has anyone heard about any possilbilities of CP breaking the 500 foot barrier? I doubt it with the headaches in the early years of TDD but one never knows. well If cf really wanted to break the 500ft mark IMO there is a better chance of it going to KI than Cp because Cp is extremely landlocked, or "waterlocked" i guess, and KI has plenty of room. I wouldn't be suprised if KI had 20 coasters by 2020. -
the only time i've been to KI and there were small crowds, was on a Sunday around 7 pm, and I go almost every week

Racerrider replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
well i don't know if they still do this, but when i moved to dayton in '99 they had these giant rolls of sod that they layed down, but when i moved to c-bus in '05, they had little 2ft by 4ft rectangles they layed down, which got moved around when it rained unfortunately -
I personaly think they should blow up (not literaly guys) the red barns by FH and wrap a pathway around the break run and extend a midway that way
-
KI changed it before the printer deadline, along with Bubba Gumps will remain as...well whatever it was in '08

This is probaly a stupid question, but does anyone know if they are going to paint the roof of DB's station, or are they just going to leave it silver?
