  1. Have been to CP and KI on holiday weekends such as Memorial Day and 4th of July and parks are not as busy as you think on such weekends.
  2. Although during the 90's The Beast Line would often snake past La Rosa's that was because during those days. ( ie the Paramount years) management hardly ever filled up the switchbacks even on Saturday. Therefore the appearance of a long wait was very deceptive-usually the wait was not longer than 45 minutes.
  3. Very controversial ride Malem. Seems like you either love or hate that ride.
  4. Now that the scooters have returned to KI I was thinking that it would be nice to bring back other old flats that have since left the park. I just saw an old photo of The Rotor ( showed people doing the silly stuff ) and this made me think about how much I missed that ride. I was thinking that it would be nice to have that ride back. ( If it was possible. ) Any thoughts on whether this is a possibility or am I dreaming?
  5. Never a huge flyers fan although always enjoyed them. However, my ride yesterday morning made me appreciate having them back-even though I am not a snapper, thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing ride experience and plan many more rides on them in the years to come.
  6. They used to have grad nights at KI years ago. Wonder if they will bring them back to KI if successful at CP? ( One of my greatest regrets that I missed my grad night which was the year The Beast opened in 79.)
  7. Make sure you are well groomed and dressed appropriately. Best of luck.
  8. Thank you for your help everyone. Heading out to lunch now but when I got back I am going to see if Google Chrome browser works. Otherwise will send message.
  9. Must be a problem with the web site as same thing is happening on my I Phone. Hopefully they will extend the season pass sale. Anyway thanks for checking Terpie. Hope you had a nice Christmas.
  10. I just get a blank screen except for some light blue at the top. I guess I will have to check with KI customer service on Monday. Thanks for the link.
  11. He was always so nice to me when I saw him. Although I only met him a few times, he always seemed to remember me.
  12. Long time, no see. Hope everyone had a great holiday. Anyway, just trying to purchase my Platinum pass at KI web site and does not seem to be working. Customer service is closed until Monday-I am trying to get the buy now, pay later plan and by Monday it will be too late. Has anyone else here been having problems with the site?
  13. Very nice trip report. So sorry I am late in responding. Also great to see you last night. ( PS I was 3 when Wildcat was dismantled.)
  14. The running of the bulls portion drives me up the wall. Marcia and Jan were a hop, skip and a jump from the front of the park if they had just turned right past LaRosas and then beared left up the midway past the Eiffel Tower-if they had gone that route Mike probably would have had plenty of time to make his presentation. Also, do you realize that Bobby and Cindy went back to the sight of where Vortex is now to hand the plans to Greg when they were already near the front of the park? To be honest I think a lot of this had to do with a poor editing job on this episode. For example, look at the scene where they are riding The Racer when the train starts on the right side, then ends up on the left side after the camera cuts. Or look at Marcia and Jan's ride on the Log Flume when we see the switchbacks in the queue area completedly full, then after a cut, we see an empty queue area. Still a fun episode but do prefer The Partridge Family episode-David Cassidy's comic timing is brilliant in this episode.
  15. Very convenient. Hopefully it will cut down on the number of people fainting from dehydration which seems to be common on a hot and humid day.
  16. Just when I thought I had seen it all. Those of you who have become familiar with the queue configuration of Banshee know that when the crowd starts to get overflowed, then the ride attendant will open the switchback row in the middle front area that goes straight, then turns right and leads to a group of switchbacks that zig-zag to the left again. Anyway I see people walking through those zig zagging switchbacks in the back but no one walking throught the row that leads to this area. I see that people are walking through another row ( this row is supposed to go in the opposite direction) leading to this back zig zagging area and climbing under the railing in order to get to the zig zagging back area-people were stepping over into this row, and then climbing under the railing into the zig zagging area. ( If I have confused you all I am sorry. ) In short someone totally messed up the proper traffic flow of the queue. That is why it is probably a good idea for the ride attendant to lead the traffic flow until the switchbacks that need to be filled are completely filled with people.
  17. Another pet peeve came to mind that drives me banannas. When I am by myself at Banshee I often choose a row with three people to fill up empty seats. Sometimes the person in front of me will take the first seat while the other two people will take the two seats on the right. This leaves the second seat open and often when I proceed to get into that seat the person in the left seat will then jump up and say they want to sit with their party like I did something wrong. A word of advice to such people: Try to be a little more considerate toward a single rider who might be behind you.
  18. Felt the article gave good advice but overlooked one item: Buy a season pass if you plan to go a few times.
  19. All I can say is I have never made it beyond Apprentice Blaster when I am with someone as it seems like all my friends are Boo Blaster savants.
  20. Bring a Friend for 15.99 ( or whatever they are charging) is certainly better than the bring a friend for free days that they used to have during the Paramount years-it was an absolute nightmare in those days with cars parked past Jane Jetson in the Deep South Parking lot on the grass. ( how I miss those Hanna Barbera character parking signs.)
  21. I don't ever remember having problems eating a picnic lunch on the grass in the parking area by the main entrance. However a few years back my friend and I had a picnic lunch on the grass by the water park entrance and told by a police officer ( who was actually very nice-of course I am not stupid and am always respectful to police) that we could not do this-he did let us finish our lunch however. In short my impression is that there are two different policies in the main lot area and the water park lot area.
  22. Glad you had a nice time. Did you notice that they changed the Palace Theatre back to its original name Lusty Lil's? When I was up there saw an absolutely outstanding wild west show there, Lusty Lil's Review. The piano player was spectacular.
  23. As to incorrect ride names, as you all know, I have always referred to that watchmacallet at Soak City as the giant toilet bowl. I call them as I see them.
