  1. With all due respect why does that matter? Whether it lengthens the line 20 minutes or 2 seconds, the point is that the people in front of you are being inconsiderate by not moving when the line moves. I am sure that most of the time, such conduct is unintentional but it is annoying when the people in front of you continuously fail to move when the line moves.
  2. Haha! You reminded me of one of the funniest moments I ever had at KI. The Zodiac was a double armed ferris wheel that was in the park in the 70's. We had to share the cage with a particularly smelly dad and two kids. My cousin lost his self-censorship due to the smell, and looked me, held his nose, and said loudly announced, "Pew!" The family just looked at him as if he were referring to someone else. The Zodiac had cages with iron bar sides, air constantly blew through the cage due to the motion, And this family still made us sick with their stank! To quote our friendly captain on Paddlewheel Excursions at CP when we passed the skunk: Let's hear a peuuu!!
  3. ^Gotta agree with you Magenta Lizard. I am a child of the 60's and 70's and, mark my words, people of my generation were by no means little angels. Example? Sex Drugs, Rock n Roll.
  4. I know this thread is about pet peeves but please pardon me from deviating to say something positive. I know a lot of of pet peeves have been about disrespectful youth. I have to say that while I have experienced this, I must say that I feel most young people are basically good. I would like to share an experience I had at the park a couple of months ago. Near the front entrance of the park I tripped and fell. ( I won't go into it but it was my fault folks.) There was a minute or so when I was in such pain that I could not move. Then, four young people whom I would say were about 17 checked on me to see if I was ok. One of them said that he would not leave unless they saw that I could get up ok. After I was feeling better, I started to get up and one of them helped me by pulling me by my hand. Luckily, I did not have to go to the doctor-just some bruising. I wish I could have found out those young people's names so I could get in touch with their parents to thank them for raising such decent, kind human beings. Another good example of the goodness of our youth is the awesome staff of KI-need I say more?
  5. I have no problem with parents stopping at the ride entrance to get their kids measured. All I ask is that you please step aside so those of us behind you may pass while you are getting your kids measured.
  6. My two cents on leaving your kids in those corals at the station while you ride-I am concerned about the safety of leaving your children unattended. The ride staff has a ride to run and are not babysitters. Someone said "its only 5 minutes" but it does not take that long for something to happen. I am not questioning anyone's parenting but I say either use parent swap or wait for your children to get big enough to ride the height restricted rides
  7. CP for my vacation next week-your trip report is making me so impatient for my vacation to start.
  8. People yelling while you are going up the lift hill " We're all going to die."
  9. Loved the story about the kid dressed like Tinker Bell. denied access to Disney Magic Kindom
  10. Looks like this will be a good weekend to hang around at Soak City-supposed to be warm and I am sure that the lines will be long in the main part of the park.
  11. Well, for all my hang ups about germs, I forgot about the tradition of high-fiving the people in the neighboring train on The Gemini. I must admit I do take part in that. I guess I am going to have to eat crow for starting this topic. On the other hand, high fiving on The Gemini just seems so much more natural to me than high fiving in line. At any rate will have to make sure I wash my hands after my Gemini rides in the future.
  12. You're probably right-she was probably looking for a "meal daddy."
  13. Trindawg, just wanted to let you know that I do feel your pain. I think it is great that the the park thought enough to call you but if I were to try to put myself in your place, I am sure that I would feel very traumatized by this experience. I highly recommend that you return the park's call and relay your experience to them. I think you will feel a lot better and that it will help you to move on. They are really a wonderful bunch of people at park security and I am sure that they will listen to you and understand your feelings.
  14. Maybe she was flirting? An old fogie like me? I am sure I was old enough to be her father.
  15. This past Sunday while waiting of Banshee, a girl in the neighboring switchback signals me and asks "Can I go ahead of her?" When I look at her with a puzzled look, she continues " I'd like to ride with you"-not sure if those were the exact words but they were something like that. I continued walking and ignored her. That was absolutely creepy.
  16. I could retire if I received a nickle for every time a coaster train got stopped on a lift hill at KI.
  17. One more post and I will put this to rest. Why do I care about the bin policy if it does not affect me? Because I care about other people and believe in sticking up for them. Is there anything wrong with that? And the last time I was at Holiday World, they indeed provided free lockers at Pilgrim's Plunge unless they changed the policy. I know KI is not Holiday world but just wanted to make sure we got the facts straight. I have been going to KI since it opened in 1972 and other parks as well and I am not so naive as to think unnecessary charges are not going to occur-parks want to get as much loot into the kitty as possible and that is simply a fact of life. I am simply asking that we just be honest about the motives for the lack of bins at the Banshee station. It is about making extra money for lockers. Maybe its right, maybe its wrong but lets be honest about the motives. If the park did not want to make that extra money for lockers I feel that they would have designed the stations for bins. Let me close by saying that I love KI and have always gone out of my way to complement all of the wonderful employees. I am in general a very positive person and others in general find me to be positive because of the way I treat others. PS I saw your post Andrew and I think $2 the first hour and $1 per hour thereafter is pretty pricy.
  18. With all due respect Hydra, if you have never actually been to the Banshee station how do you know that there is no room? From going through the station numerous times, it looks like there would be room on the left by the control room. My main point is if the park wanted to they could have built a station to accomodate bins-I never at any point said that I expected the park to totally tear down and build a new station. Lets get serious, Hydra, its all about money-if its truly not about money then I challenge the park not to charge for lockers or to offer lockers at a more reasonable price.
  19. Its about making extra money from charging guests for lockers. KI, I still love just about everything about you but I am disappointed with you for not including bin facilities at Banshee. It does not affect me as I am single and just need my trusty cargo shorts ( half price at Penny's) to secure my lose articles. I just feel for the guests with children who need bags so that they can do their jobs as parents. There are bins at The Beast and Diamondback and this certainly does not seem to hurt capacity. If you wanted to you could have built bins at the Banshee station-I do not buy the argument that there is no room. I have addressed my concerns to Guest Services in writing. Since I did not receive a reply from you, KI, I am making public my displeasure. I hate to do this but perhaps this is the only way to make managment take notice. That being said, I want to close on a positive note by saying Thank You KI for an awesome ride and thank you again to the wonderful Banshee staff who is doing an awesome job.
  20. They're tearing down Screamy Meany? ( Or is it Screamy Meamy? See National Lampoon's Vacation)
  21. That is the one thing about these circus aerial acts-I always get so nervous that something is going to go wrong. I could barely watch that Wallenda guy when he did the wire walk a few years back from the entrance to the tower and back.
  22. I say bring back Mighty Mouse and Bugs Bunny cartoons that they used to show on QTV.
  23. Starting in, I think, 1968, you could buy the wristband to ride all the rides at coney. I remember the price being $4.00. Before you all state "Is that all?" that was a lot of money then-don't forget to adjust for inflation.
  24. Ask me in mid August. For goodness sakes, we are just starting summer which I do not want to end.
