  1. Definitely need restrooms by Firehawk and Flight of Fear-never could understand the lack of facilities in that area. Also, after 35 years, I don't feel that it would be a bad idea to give The Beast queue a little TLC in the way of a facelift-maybe bring back the refreshment stand with smiling, live people selling fresh pretzels and cold drinks? ( A person can dream can't they?}
  2. Oh, I want another ride so badly-hurry up weekend.
  3. Another thing I just love about the Banshee experience is the beautiful view of the grass and ravines when you are hanging upside down. You don't get that kind of view on Raptor.
  4. The mistake I usually hear is that The Racer was built from Shooting Star parts. People, once and for all: The Racer is a completely, original ride while The Shooting Star was completely demolished. Ahhhh, now I feel better that I got that off my chest.
  5. 3 hours for Firehawk with 4 really annoying kids in front of me in line.
  6. Just had to say much improvement on making sure people stand to the side so as not to block the entrance.( ie answering questions about storage, measuring kids, etc.) Also noticed remarkable improvement in keeping trains as full as possible. ( Remember, a full train is a cool train.) Kudos to a wonderful, very friendly ride crew.
  7. Thank you Upstop. Saw the show again today and am hooked.
  8. Does anyone know where the performers are from? Are they from the U.S. are abroad? Just curious.
  9. Not sure what happened to that employee but if you ask me such action should be cause for immediate termination of employment. To paraphrase one company's policy with regard to customer service "We hire only nice people, we do not train people to be nice."
  10. Exactly my point. I know that you cannot avoid germs completely but you would be surprised at the amount of people I catch walking out of bathroom stalls and leaving without washing their hands. I do not think it is unreasonable to expect people to wash their hands after going to the bathroom-such a simple way to avoid germs. Until more people grow up and start performing this simple task, I will indeed be wary of touching others' hands.
  11. Wow, did not expect this topic to get so much response-am enjoying reading them. Jcgoble3 brought up an excellant point. In today's dangerous world I think it is especially important for children to be weary of any kind of contact with strangers.
  12. A few years ago my friend and I were waiting for DB. A girl cut in front with us and my friend confronted her about it. You will not believe this but she said that she worked at KI. ( Thus being allowed to cut in line.) We kept our eye on her ( she joined a group not too far from us) and at the station we spoke with a ride supervisor and advised that this girl who stated that she was an employee at KI cut in line. We found out indeed that she was an employee. I don't know if she was disciplined in any way but she was not allowed on the ride. Hopefully this was brought to the attention of her supervisor. This is an example of where I do draw the line of letting line cutting pass. In this situation I felt in a way " violated" that an employee had the gall to treat me, a good customer , in such a way.
  13. Well, here is another inconsequential topic I am starting. Does anyone notice when you are waiting in ride lines, strangers keep wanting to high five you? Well, I have a message for all of you well meaning people who want to high five me: Please do not be offended if I decline your offer but hand contact is a common way to spread germs. I do not know where your hands have been so I do not wish to take a chance at being infected with something. Would love to hear your two cents ( or in Terpie's case, nickels) on this subject.
  14. One thing that has been a bit annoying-sometimes it is like pulling teeth to get into the ride entrance because of people blocking the entrance for various reasons most commonly discussing with the ride attendant what they can and cannot take into the queue. I had to yell out several times for the ride attendants to please let us pass. I don't mean to demean the attendants in any way as they have been doing an excellant job doing a very difficult job, ie working a brand new ride.
  15. Saw the show today and loved it. Just the kind of show KI needed. Kind of reminded me of the old days at Coney when they used to have aerial acts on the midway. This show was first class all the way and looking forward to multiple viewings throughout the summer.
  16. Plan to check it out tomorrow. ( or today since it is after midnight.) Have been looking forward to this show

  18. Terpie, as I remember, when the Maxx Pass was available in 07, it was good at all of the Cedar Fair parks and not just KI, Geauga Lake and CP. The name was simply changed to the Platinum pass starting in 08.
  19. ^Me too-even if it is crowded I love to people watch.
  20. If I am not mistaken when the ride was at Coney it was called The Octopus.
  21. At the risk of sounded redundant, I will say it again: Based upon my experience I find that 3-day holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day are not as crowded as you think. For example I was at CP Memorial Day Weekend 2 years ago and, even with the free military tickets, the park still was not that crowded. I am just speculating but I think most people simply would rather do other things on such holidays rather than going to an amusement park such as a family picnic or a ballgame.
  22. When I go to the water park I get there right when it opens for Gold/Platinum passholders so I can get a lounge chair under one of the big umbrellas by the big wave pool. I generally spend most of my time just relaxing perhaps with a good book while occasionally going into the wave pool to cool off. Occasionally I will take a nap. ( Reason for big umbrella-so I can sleep in the nice cool shade.) Occasionally I will wonder off for a ride on the lazy river or the giant toilet bowl.( Whatever the name of that ride is now-I can't keep up with the name changes but to me whatever the name is it is still the giant toilet bowl.) At any rate, a day at Soak City is one of the most relaxing, enjoyable ways to spend the weekend after a long, hard week at the office.
  23. I miss the International Street Restuarant-would love to see that reopened.
  24. Actually I do have a new fav tasty treat this season-The Banshee Berries and Cream. Mmmmm, mmmmmm.
  25. Looks like you lost out on the chance for a rich wife-I mean if she could afford to buy fudge all the time she had to be rich at those prices. Note: was trying to quote Miythandria's post above.
