  1. I watched a TV show on Discovery (I Think), It was called Build It Bigger. The show was about two different cunstruction sites building new roller coasters. One was the Renegade in Minnesota, the other was the Griffon, a new floorless dive coaster. I'm a big fan of the old woodies, and Renegade looks like The Beast on Steroids!!! But that Griffon one...WOW....THAT is a cool coaster. I don't get to go anywhere but KI, has anyone else got to ride either of these? I would love a shot at either one. It was funny watching them try to build during the winter in Minnesota though. They had to use a torch to melt away ice just so they could work, then the wood was too cold to drive a nail into anyways. So I don't think theres too much off season constuction going on there!!!
  2. Talk about unfair!!!! I read about an award like that, and then I check PKIMaureen's profile. No picture? That just seems wrong.....LOL Here's to a level playing field: Is Maureen the one on the left or the right? LOL Swiper, NO SWIPING!!!! My baby loves that show. Looks like a well deserved award. The kiddie land award was well deserved too. It was the main reason we went to KI this year. The Nick characters are hard to beat. My kid knows 'em all, and loves 'em We had a real tough time getting her off of Blue's Skidoo!!!!

  4. SoB just LOOKS unsafe. I won't pretend to know all the details of every accident, or the cause. I am just "average park visitor" and thats my impression of the ride. Everyone has seen it on the News, and heard about the problems. You get to the park, and you look up at the lift hill, see all that "extra" wood they put in for re-enforcement, and you think, Wow, The engineers didn't see this from day one? The extra planks just make it look "cobbed up". Like they are just kind of building the ride as they go along, adding extra stuff here and there as they need to. I rode it when it was new, and still had the loop. Yeah, it was cool, but not exceptional. It wasn't great enough to make me want to ride it again, not with the bad press and the fact that the real BEAST is just a short walk away. In the future, I would suggest that they at least build one on Roller Coaster tycoon before actually breaking ground, just to make sure it will work!!!! LOL
  5. yeep. My girl. I was worried when the ride first took off. I had never ridden the ride before, so I didn't know what to expect. She never rode one that went upside down, and she didn't want too!!! I thought I was in TROUBLE!!!! But, she ended up loving it, as did I. I can't believe that we go down at least once a year, and I had never rode it before!!!! It has quickly become one of my favorites!!
  6. OK...I got it up on you tube.....I converted the whole thing, ignore the watermark. also, after about 2:10 its all an add.
  7. BOOOOO That doesn't sound fun at all
  8. The movie size is 230,588kb It's an mpeg. You tube, and break both say the file is too large to upload. Any other ideas?
  9. LOL I guess thats why you should proof read!!!! I wasn't trying to be sour towards the ride, just the LOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG path to get back to it. I did notice some concreate work being done in the area, so maybe they are changing it up. The ride is good, we liked it. It just seems like it is very isolated from everything else.
  10. It's not green like the Paris movie, but there was no light either. It like a black and white movie, more like low color...probably some kind of light filter
  11. I'm not that suprised. I had a similar trip to Geauga Lake a few years ago....After Six Flags bought it, but before they combined it with Sea World. Of the 14 or so featured rides, only 2 of them ran all day. The Villian, which was quite good for a coaster I had never heard of until I got there, and the X-thingy...LOL. The one thats at KI now. I complained through e-mail after I got back home. I got an automated response saying that they recieved my letter, and would be in contact. Thats it...Nothing else ever. this guy should feel lucky that he got a real response!!!! He was looking for free passes anyways. I wanted an apology. I never got it, so I haven't, and won't be back. Being in central Ohio, it's too easy for me to go to other parks. There was more bad stuff about the trip than what I have mentioned. But I'll stop anyways!!! LOL

This could be a long post! This was by far, my BEST TRIP EVER to KI!!! Me, momma and the 2 kids. One is 11, one is 3. The older one just started getting her feet wet on the coasters last year, and was really looking forward to the trip. The youngest was terrified of everything last year, so we expected more of the same. OK...We arrive. Me and the oldest head for The Racer and Adventure Express for a warm up. The wife and young-un head for Nicktown. After our coaster rides we head over to find them. It was real quick, they were sending the cars out half full on both rides, and there was no line at all. From about 100 yard away, I see my wife fighting with the youngest, with the kid screaming like a Banshee!!! I thought "Oh Lord, here we go again" But when I got there, I realized that she had a death grip on Blues Skidoo, and didn't want to get off!!!! What a riot!!!! So we coach her on waiting her turn and that went OK for the rest of the day. The park was perfect. No litter, no crowd, no problem. the only thing there was an abundance of was HEAT!!! LOL The longest line we waited in all day was about 15 minutes for Flight of Fear. No Line for The Beast...I mean NO LINE...Walk right up, get on and ride!!!!! It was like that ALL DAY. EVERY RIDE. If I have to complain about anything, it would be the refreshment prices. No carry in's permitted, but you can buy this bottle of Coke for 3.50!!!! I understand turning a profit, but that just seems greedy to me. Yeah, it was hot, and yeah we had to pay it. But KI didn't make any more money off of us. It just meant that we couldn't play the games, or go on any of the extra fee rides. All they did by jacking up prices was limit us on how much fun we could have. All told though, that wasn't enough of an issue to ruin our time, but next year, we'll bring a cooler, make a bunch of trips to the car, and still won't play the games just because I feel ****y about it!!!! LOL By the end of the day, my beginer roller coaster rider had ridden The Racer (3 times) Adventure Express (2) The Beast (4) Flight of Fear (3) and The Vortex (2)...Opps we rode Top Gun too, but I don't really count that one sense you spend more time walking out to it, than you do actually riding it!!! How many rides could they fit all that empty space? 3? 4? She is determined to Ride Son of Beast next year, she couldn't bring herself to do it this year. the youngest had a ball too. 3 years old and she rode the Scrambler, the monster, the big carosel, and we all got our picture taken on the Wild Thornberrys Log Flume (darn elephant)LOL. Plus everything in Nicktown.. I wanted to share a thought, and I hope this doesn't get me yelled at but I feel like I gotta say it. I LOVE the old woddie coasters. Part of what I love about them is the bumpy ride. As I have leafed through the posts on this site, I read over and over again, people complaining about getting beat up on The Beast, SOB, and The Racer... The rough bumpy ride is as much a part of the ride as the lap bar is...If you want a smooth fast ride, Stay on I-71 and hit about 90mph!!!! Steel coasters are all about smooth and speedy. Woodies are all about rough and tumble...I hope that they all stay just as rough and nasty as they are right now. Thanks for reading!!! LOL
  13. I'd be happy to. But I need to know where and how. It's a vob file, I just joined the site yesterday, so I'm not real familiar with things yet.
  14. Yeah, I was wondering that myself because if they were gonna do it sometime this season they need to start fitting the trains with the cameras. They can redo the area where you pick them up whenever but with only a certain amount of trains to use which they need everyday, it's a little harder to take a train off the track to work on. How many trains do they have at FoF? I'm pretty sure they run three but do they have an extra one so they could put cameras in one while the other 3 run? Or are they already there and I'm totally oblivious? I was there on 7/31. We got the on-ride video. It is really cool...a little bit of filler footage mixed in with real footage on you riding. They put it on a dvd along with a snapshot of you riding for 20 bucks. A little pricey, but not as bad as 50 bucks for 4 burger fries and Cokes!!! LOL
