  1. That is awesome..... if you think 1/3 less of people will use it a higher price then this whole topic is null and void because it will be nearly unnoticeable. Next subject please.
  2. first off... i would pay $100 based off my Cedar Point Fast Lane experience. Next, everyone thought $50 was way to expensive for Fast Lane yet Kings Island (the test park) proved for the entire Cedar Fair company that people will pay whatever to bypass the line. Less people may use it at $100 but I promise you people will still pay it. You guys should be happy if they charged it to $100... it will ultimately result in less people using it but people would still use it.
  3. I really do not care what the specifications are on the program. The company has figured it out that if they charge $100 to skip the line, people will pay. And they will. No amount of complaining will stop that. The park makes BIG money while everyone complains.
  4. I have visited Cedar Point this year and utilized their Fast Lane program and I will pay whatever the price is to do it again. It was probably the best day I've had at any park. If you can't afford it, then there is a line for you. Amusement Parks are businesses. They have found a customer need that will result in BIG money for them. If you do not agree, don't go. Simple as that. Stop complaining on websites like this. The park will always choose BIG money over your complaints.
  5. I worked for PKI from 2001 to 2004 and the park had a Parent Swap program then. It has been around well before CF.
  6. i worked at PKI for four years and have visited several times since Cedar Fair's ownership and one thing I keep seeing that i have to disagree on is employee's attitudes. under Cedar Fair, one thing i do not believe has changed for the good is employee attitudes. i have not been impressed yet and continually see instances (especially in rides and Guest Relations) where i think the attitudes were much better under PKI. I do believe Cedar Fair has done good overall but do not think they are better in guest relations.
  7. Store 267 Salem Mall....well there isnt really a mall anymore so its either called T-Wood or Dayton...company still calls it Salem Mall.
  8. Dayton...same store as Dane
  9. I work for Best Buy. I wouldn't think that they would build one in Lebanon seeing there is one near Kings Automall, less than 10 miles away. I do know there is one coming to Colerain (less than 10 miles from Tri-County), opening next month and have heard about one in Newport and Kenwood. It would be more feasible to put one up near Wilmington instead... I had heard there is a BBY planned for the Lebanon area. So, I may be incorrect.
  10. There is a Best Buy planned for the Lebanon area. Not sure if this is the same development we are speaking of.
  11. Wow, great news here. The off season seems to be flying by. Man oh man, I miss stealth at PGA.

    Delirium

I worked at the park for four years and every year the first weekend is like everyone has described. I know it would seem that it shouldn't be that way but you have to realize that these rides have sit idle for months and have not been consitently ran with people until opening weekend. It sounds like this year has been no exception. It isn't that PKI does not care but rather it has always happened like this on opening weekend. It will take a couple weekends to near May before the rides are all reliable running. One person described the frustration of the ride operator when Delirium broke and I assure you from personal experience all ride ops and escpecially the ride sups/managers are more frustrated than you when these rides do go down. One last thing, I have also had the joy of visiting CP during their opening week the past two years and even they too have problems to the same magnitude we do. Last year it seemed every ride that we got in line for went down. So, I guess you could say it is normal for this to happen at seasonal theme parks. One last note.....SOB will not operate until later this season. No official date yet.
  13. Dayton Daily News: PKI 2006 Season Check out the price listed for parking. Is that correct???
  14. Yea new owners make a difference. They can and may send the parks right down the tube as well. So I am not sure everyone should be jumping for joy just yet. It could be a very gloomy future.
  15. Speaking from experience, something my company has learned about itself is that competeing within the company is not successful. Putting that into place with PKI, the key element here is that PKI is not out to compete with its own parks, it is out to compete with the parks in its marketing area and again PKI has done very well.
  16. Beast is not going to go backwards. Enough people get hurt riding it forwards, they arent going to risk it.
  17. Beat me to it Shaggy........seems like most people in this community can not let the park do anything without being a critic of it. As Shaggy said, don't like it, don't go. One less person in my way.
  18. In actuality, WinterFest never failed. They discontinued it for many reasons but none of them was because of its failure. The park has done a ton of research before deciding to do this and I am sure all results said this will be best for the park. Also, FearFest will still happen. There is going to be 3 to 4 weeks between FearFest and WinterFest but you will see all the details soon.
  19. Yet another person that is drove away from this site due to stupidity. How many more to come??
  20. Considering, some important individuals at the park really like this Reservation system, it has a good possibility of staying. Overall, guest feedback as been very good with the exception of a few situations which the Enquirer was quick to write a story about. Ultimately, the system is working and people are guest are liking it. FYI, for those of you concerned about tix running out early. With the exception of some very busy days, there have been tix avaliable until late in the day.
  21. The ride has the same capacity as Beast and that is one of the higher capacity rides at the park. Get over it!
  22. Hate to break it to some of you but this type of Reservation system is being tested this year on IJ for a reason. PKI has been looking at several different "fast pass" type programs for the last couple years. They are testing to see what works best. Orginally PKD was the ginne pigs. If you remember back the year Hypersonic opened, they tried a fast pass system through the exit. It failed worst then one could imagine so they then started at PKI. Which is when the Gold Pass walk on lanes happened. The first year of that the tested it with week day crowds. PKI felt that had it will tested to try it on a larger scale which was why the switched to a weekend thing. Now they are exploring other possibilities. Within the next couple years you will see a more permanent fast pass system for everyone to use.
  23. I have never seen any crew in the park do what The Beast crew does the last hour every night. So, yea I think they do deserve a lot of credit.
  24. During my four years working at the park, I have met so many people and have made so many friends that will be with me forever. Working at PKI has never been a job for me, it has been an experience. Its something I highly recommend anyone to try. As hard as it is, 2004 was my final season. This year will be the first time in four years, I am able to walk through through the front gates as a season pass holder. While I am sure I will be able to keep in contact with most people, I want to say thanks to everyone that has made my four years great. That includes everyone from all enthusiast, employees, and the full time staff (I know your reading!). To everyone, have a great 2005 season. -Josh Page 2001 - Tiques/DS 2002 - Flight of Fear/Zephyr 2003 - Tomb Raider (April-July) 2003 - The Beast/Scooters (July-November) 2004 - The Beast/Scooters
