  1. I have only had 2 Zen rides in my lifetime. The first was as a young man at SFOT on Runaway Mine Train and the second was a back seat ride on Kentucky Rumbler in Bowling Green about two years ago.
  2. I see them changing the belts to retractable somewhere in the future, probably for next season. Easier on the ride operation crew, I would think.
  3. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but the weather forecast is looking soggy for both days of this year's event. High chances of thunderstorms Friday and Saturday. Still going and I will try to enjoy and make the most of this very unique event.
  4. Roughly 92 miles away. Several backroads including 421, 36/42, and 227 all just to get to 71N where I can really make up any time lost on those small backroads. My car doesn't like to go any less than 80 for some reason.
  5. Awesome, Thank you Liz. I feel a little less stressed.
  6. That's interesting. Do those numbers include the kid's areas in all the parks you mentioned.
  7. Still haven't received anything from Kings Island for Coasterstock. I am quickly becoming concerned about it. I took advantage of the new system this year for multiple reasons. Would be great if the credentials arrive before the event.
  8. This year will be 3 of 4. I could not attend 2nd year due to a scheduling conflict. I am looking forward to the lights on tour of Flight of Fear.
  9. Thank you so much. Can't wait.
  10. Pre check-in is a brilliant addition this year. Has any one received anything yet? If not, has anyone heard anything about when we can expect them. The event is less than a month away. Looking forward to this event more than I should probably.
  11. Instrumental music on I-street was back and that is good. The bluegrass covers of rock and pop tunes in Rivertown is better than the Pop tunes in general but for me could get old quickly. Perhaps if they were just instrumental bluegrass versions I would find them more tolerable.
  12. Perhaps "stacking" was the wrong choice of word. The operators were certainly doing something different that evening and to me it was an improvement over previous years.
  13. Firehawk's dispatch interval was different but it seemed to prevent stacking on the brake run. That will make a huge difference to guests when they aren't out in the sun just sitting, assuming it continues. Beast: The "banked" turn into the covered brake run is still rough. The rest of the course seemed fine.
  14. Oh man, I should not have gone and watched that webcam. Finishing the workday is now going to be extremely difficult.
  15. ^^ Pretty serious typo there you might want to fix. I presume you meant "add".
  16. Fantastic! We can enjoy the great BBQ and not have to make the trek over to Soak City and risk the loss of appetite from seeing people wear things that should never be worn in public.
  17. ^ I don't think they would. Now, as far as the color scheme I can see the no shade of red or blue but I can't support any shade of green. That really doesn't leave much to choose from. Perhaps if the aviation theme plays out, a sky blue and grey combination.
  18. One can only hope for much better weather conditions as far as rain for this year's Coasterstock event.
  19. ^ Often the highlight of my day at the park.
  20. The replacement of the asphalt walkways with pavers. Greatly improved the look and feel of the areas that were done.
  21. The earbuds will only work until you board a ride. The policy apparently is that no earbuds or headphones are allowed. I have witnessed on more than one occasion a delay in dispatch times due to some one having earbuds in.
  22. Pop music=noise, noise, noise. I go to Kings Island to relax and enjoy some escapism if you will. Now having to tense up and try to block out the pop noise puts me in the wrong state of mind from the moment I get out of my car in the parking lot. Having no escape from the noise just wears me down and makes that wrong state of mind even worse.
  23. I went to the park on Friday the 25th and was quite shocked to walk in and hear the pop "music" playing on International street. Disappointing really since it was my daughter's first visit to the park this year. I wanted her to hear the difference the actual music made in the atmosphere of International street. It is a shame really.
