  1. But does Mack have the ability to match the 4 across seating that B&M can? KI would need that increased capacity in it's inevitable Giga.
  2. Via the webcam it appears Diamondback is running only two trains. Anyone know why?
  3. I still think a Screamin' Swing would work well in that spot.
  4. Based on my experience and from what I am reading from you guys it sounds more like an issue with the length of each individual belt.
  5. My last visit to CP a few years ago, I had the same experience except it was me. I had no issue on any ride except Wicked Twister. The seat belt just wouldn't fasten. I wasn't embarrassed so much as frustrated as my previous trip a year earlier yielded no issues with Wicked Twister. Very Frustrating. V2 at SFGA near Chicago was no problem. A very fun ride by the way.
  6. Would love to try the brisket but it has not been available the times that I have visited. It would be great if they had a schedule or something that gave some info about when the brisket would be available. I was raised on slow smoked brisket and prefer it over the pork butt or pork shoulder.
  7. Not so much any more but as child I always had the current map for Six Flags Over Texas pinned to the wall in my room. I had the maps from previous years neatly put away but sadly no longer have them. Lost them during a move I think.
  8. Moved in to the area September of 2005 so I missed that season, but every year after that I have had a Gold Season Pass and have visited the park at least 3 times a year. Closer to 5 or 6 visits some years.
  9. I too have never ridden a Sling Shot type ride. I was concerned about the possibility of not being able to ride as a single rider. Will indeed have to check into it some time this year. However, EXtreme Skyflyer type rides including the one at Kings Island are an absolute blast. i will always ride one if a park I visit happens to have one. I usually buy two tickets at the lowest price of the day and "fly" in the morning and then again at sunset.
  10. Not sure about this year yet, but when I did it last year it was an additional $5.
  11. From a fellow Rush fan that would be "Mystic Rhythms".
  12. ^That is indeed a shame. I can not think of anything that would provide a similar or better ride experience than the Screamin' Swing.
  13. I agree that an S&S Screamin' Swing would look fantastic in the former Flight Commander spot, not to mention that they are, in my opinion, the most fun of any flat ride I have ever ridden. Has the smaller "swing" at Dollywood had any of the same issues as Skyhawk?
  14. I completely agree. I love Drop Tower style rides but it seems the rotating gondola at KI has some very restrictive restraints. At 6'2" 260 lbs they are so uncomfortable for me that I can not ride. However the non rotating Drop Tower at KD is not restrictive and is almost comfortable. The difference between Vertical Velocity and Wicked Twister is also very frustrating.
  15. No kidding. An enclosed wooden building in the summer sun had better at least have some fans to move the air or at best some sort of air conditioning for guest comfort.
  16. At 6' 2" Vortex is no picnic. Having to ride a certain way or in a certain row/seat to enjoy a coaster is just not right.
  17. Via the MT webcam it appears that the crane is being used to pull the chain up the lift hill.
  18. Good to go for this year's prime coaster event. Beast tour set for 2 pm. Now the hard part, the long wait. Only thing left to do is find some decent hotel deals near the park.
  19. I know there are mixed feelings about Fast Lane but I believe there is an entrance just for Fast Lane based on my quick glance at the print posted from Twitter earlier in the thread.
  20. I maybe wrong but is that the reservoir? If so that view will be even better with the water filled in.
  21. I have really enjoyed all the construction photos posted to this point and I am looking forward to the photos that are sure to come. Sometimes it is really frustrating checking the MT website to see no updates but if they post updated photos via Twitter then I guess I can deal with that.
  22. Excellent. Wasn't sure how much longer I was going to have to wait to finalize plans for attending this year. I missed last year because of a work schedule conflict. I don't want to miss out this year because of the new coaster.
  23. Green track with white supports would really pop and be vastly different than any color combination that already exists in the park. My favorite color is red so it was difficult to go against it.
  24. I agree completely with the comments calling for more shade in the queue lines and for improved food service especially in the Red's Hall of Fame Grille. I usually go to the park alone so I don't really want to take up an entire table when I should be able to sit at the bar and have access to the full menu. Recently, during October, twice I was informed that I could not get food at the bar. I hope this disturbing practice does not continue into next year. I also think that some high capacity flat rides would indeed spread out the crowds which seem to be growing each and every year. It's weekdays only for me except in the fall when there is no other choice.
  25. Just a guess here but I would say the increased width was designed in for a reason. Perhaps for a smoother and faster transition into the next element.
