  1. I've always been curious if the ride companies are the ones actually MAKING the parts to... I'd assume a large chunk of the stuff is contracted out while the actual company oversees the design, installation, warranty work and maybe a small amount of operation with the park as a hand off. I haven't done any real research, but I don't see these companies handling a lot more than that. Correct me if I'm wrong though. I can see like trains and bigger things being purchased, but when it comes to the majority of wear and tear parts I'm pretty sure we are going to get them through a contracted supplier/vendor.
  2. Just not iconic enough of a ride for it. Now whenever Vortex DOES meet it's end of life, really the only option is to mount one of the corkscrew pieces above the brick walkeway infront of the basketball game between Juke Box Diner and the trees further down towards Rivertown.
  3. Yeah MF and TTD both did hand stamps. I think they just did this as crowd control. They would give so many out at certain times, for getting into a shorter line. TTD you would go to where the two lines go up and into the station, MF was kind of the same, but I think it goes to where the current FP line ends (going up the ramp alongside the exit station). I think it was mainly a way that they could make sure people got to ride it at least once without spending an abundance of time in line and not enjoying other aspects of the park. That was before Maverick, Valravn, GateKeeper etc. So pretty much everyone went there for MF and TTD. Crowds are much more dispersed now.
  4. Good luck on your search. I'm just gonna hope you're actually making a model for the unannounced b&m giga we are crossing our fingers for lmao.
  5. It was given a facelift, but that back entrance has been open since at least 2004 when i first went.
  6. It will be cool, but I'm not holding my breath too much. I think it's just going to be replacing the childrens/family area. It could be really cool still, but I don't think it's going to be a groundbreaking experience for adults to enjoy. I don't think it will be anything on the scale of the Harry Potter attractions.
  7. Yeah... if you get hurt walking/running it's your own fault. If you exacerbate an unknown pre-existing condition because of multiple rides in a row it could become the parks issue.
  8. That's well past the age a lot of zoologists start interning and working directly with animals. He just did some really dumb stuff. If he did what he did at 20, he very likely would have done it at 30 and 40 as well. If not even sooner, older people tend to be involved more in industrial accidents as they tend to take more shortcuts that they've learned in their experiences.
  9. I think they do a tree lighting every night. Unless I'm wrong. Winterfest begins Nov 23rd according to the site.
  10. I could definitely agree with this, so I'd be surprised if it's not banned chain wide. It's also it's just disruptive to other guests.
  11. I generally don't care for enthusiast events, but I might honestly consider going to this.
  12. Seems like someone passed away that had all this stuff and a VERY lucky person got a lot of that from an estate asle. Smurf was a different seller though.
  13. Got my last two rides in Friday night. It took probably a full minute for the seats to lower in the station which I hadn't had happen before. Thought it was a good way for the ride to say goodbye to me. I rode it twice, the same amount of times I rode it when it was X-flight at Geauga Lake.
  14. Yeah, If you ever drive by the ratty ass red building on the roadway around CP you take to get to the back lot, that's the Cedars dorm.
  15. If anything I bet it'd go to Mexico/South America. China/Dubai I think would have too much money for used rides from America.Maybe a economic leveled out Asian country like Korea or Japan etc. But I bet it goes south if (which it will be) not scrapped.
  16. The area that used to sell concessions is just storage now. You're actually standing next to it when the 2nd queue house/middle queue house is open.
  17. There is a game there I'd really like to have... Any info on where you go this Ryan so I could share with some interested parties?
  18. I would take something, but I doubt they will. It's not anywhere near the level of SoB leaving.
  19. Will you take me next year? Or we could do Dollywood or something else.
  20. X-Flights did for a very small amount of time. Someone posted a picture of the train leaving the station, loaded, in the upright position, either on here or reddit.
  21. Could be something related to the Carowinds incident.
  22. Yup, corkerscrews instead of our in line twists and helix. So our ride is a bit longer than Nighthawk. Firehawk also has dual stations while Nighthawk does not. Also ironic that the prototype/ older model is staying while Firehawk is leaving.
  23. They did dye there fountain red a couple years though... xD I don't think we ever did that.
  24. I like it a lot. There are plenty of other places to eat at if it bothers you, I-street even has scare actors working the tables occasionally, so I'd head to festhaus if you want a calmer dining experience.
  25. I really doubt it's going to KK... but the timing with their new ride name is great.
