  1. I think there are some near the Diamondback gift shop.
  2. The thing I know I will miss is the approach to that loop and the loop itself on your back. I'll actually miss that a decent amount. I also really missed the SOB loop. They are/were both very unique experiences of a very simple element.
  3. A lot of places will remove stuff like this and take the material/salvage as payment.
  4. While I'm sad to lose any coaster, i'm going to def snuggle up to Vortex more than I have been this year.
  5. Ya, I was just commenting it's a predictable reaction to the news. Everything goes through cost analysis. I ride can cost more money to operate and still be just as safe as the one next to it. I'll miss it, but just because X-Flight at GL was one of the first "bucket list" coasters I rode when I started travelling to parks years ago, then a somewhat personal connection to it when it moved to KI. But I do agree with you, it always felt like a fast, "Well we have to put this stuff somewhere or else it's going to go to waste" decision from closing GL. (Ironically reading the rest of your post as I type this we share the same feeling) I'll enjoy it now just because I remember I was bummed I couldn't get a final ride on X-Flight, and because I have some personal relationships with it, (nothing like other stuff in the park though) and if I'm correct we won't have a flying coaster in this region except for Six Flags in Gurnee, which is a bit outside my ability for a quick trip. Not that I'm huge on flying coasters, I think I actually liked stand ups more now, but I think they are going the way of the stand ups and will dwindle over time. They are just too awkward to ride for most people. It's bad enough sitting in a seat with someone's sweat, let alone laying down in it etc. I met you once with David as well when he was in town for building IJST you're a good dude. I enjoy your blog and your posts as well!
  6. a-men. But they said it's a coaster leaving.
  7. I'd be rather upset if AE left... It's something you really can't easily find other places.
  8. Honestly I don't think it would. It would generate a lot of buzz, while people with families will still be reached because of the antique cars. They are clearly targeting a different market with antique cars vs. another new coaster. I'd say ANY press would increase pass sales. It might put some people off on visiting until next year but just coaster enthusiasts and this parks bread and butter is the couple times a month family visits.
  9. lmao... the news is out of control... They literally are just reporting pure random rumors now. *facepalm*
  10. I would probably call off work an entire day just to say goodbye if it was Vortex. Firehawk I'd be happy with a friday night.
  11. lmao it's probably an inside joke and they are "laying to bed" the rumor of Son of Beast returning... The red and yellow stuff was also Son of Beasts colors. haha
  12. they could just not use the space.... or use it with something else and the removal of timberwolf. I'm just saying it makes sense because of downtime, it's the least popular ride per capacity with the graphic someone else posted and they've removed from other CF parks.
  13. Surprised no one has really mentioned Invertigo... If a coaster leaves I think that one would be the next on the block, especially because of other parks removing theirs. I could possibly see Firehawk, but it seems rather reliable and ok (not great but not what I'd call bad) capacity wise the times I've been there.
  14. It was a house for the animals. Each side lead into a different pen, with some rather large doors. This way vets could look at them and things of that nature.
  15. That could be where part of the entrance plaza is. I don't see them blocking WindSeekers main midway view. I believe the exact verbage was "demolished to make room for the entrance and station". Doesn't mean that the station itself will be in the middle of the midway where peach basket was. I'm sure the midway will change, but I'd expect an entrance there and not the station itself.
  16. No, def just millennials being allergic to work... haha
  17. I doubt it will come THAT far out onto the midway. I can see it being at a slight angle with the midway directing flow both towards Vortex/windseeeker and down towards BLSC. I think they also said the drink stand between Mt. FC and killmart is going to be gone.
  18. I'm not sure if I like the changes they are making around that area... Feels like it's going to really narrow the pathways too much. Hopefully I'm wrong and the overall picture/finished product will be really nice and reinforcing of the coney mall area.
  19. Festhaus could really use an overhaul to... But I think those days are just over. Clock is gone, it has larosas and panda express (I'm not sure if the GP would even honestly spend the coin for german food if it did make a come back). I guess they did move the turkey leg stand over to that corner, but still. I see Oktoberfest disappearing before it really gets any more money.
  20. I see them tearing down what they can and just landscaping it to interact with the new ride. I'd expect that little building next to it and the queue to be demolished. In my 5 years working at the park and poorly following it over the next decade then going back frequently the last two years. I don't think I've ever seen it open. That's from 2004 to current date. I'm not sure if it would be cost effective to tear out since it's basically a filled in concrete bunker at this point. I could be totally wrong though. I expect something more like how they moved the paths back in Rivertown around The Beast plaza and TR:TR.
  21. I saw someone literally knelt down in a praying position on Tuesday at the monument while their friend took a pic...
  22. The antique cars have a rather terrible capacity at parks like CP. That's why they always have a line. But it all depends on how many cars they can have going on the circuit at one time. You also have to remember that a family of 4 will likely require two cars to themselves, because both kids will want to drive.
  23. Do that many people really ride these? Don't get me wrong they have a place, but I've always felt tiques' were a little more like a kids ride. I can never see myself as an adult driving one of these and enjoying it. Maybe with a group of friends and being slightly rambunctious but yeah. Like I also said, don't get me wrong they have their place. But i don't think it's going to be a huge people bringer. Did they announced anything else smaller?
  24. Crypt did have them and there were times the bags zippers would not work leading to awkward moments of having to share a pouch... Also people tend to shove drinks and everything into them. The other issue is that the pouches still don't solve the problem of a guest getting a phone out on a ride, and it could even make it worse since it would be right in front of them. I guess I don't mind ponying up for a locker as long as the cost is reasonable, and I feel that the $1 an hour charge is reasonable. If I didn't I'd just leave my phone in the car, and if I was the 1 in 50 that actually had to have it with me I'd just make proper arrangements or such it up and pay the $. I guess I'm different and just like having the park as an excuse to get away from my phone and social media.
