Just because it may be a ride that "parents will ride with their kids" doesn't mean whatever we are getting won't be thrilling. Rides like Gatekeeper and even Cheetah Hunt come to mind.
If we are honestly complaining because what we are getting may not be a 300+ foot Giga coaster, it makes me wonder if we'd rather have Kinzel back just so we can have a roller coaster placed without meaning or consideration to other sections of the park.
It is possible to focus on more than just the family/just the thrillseeker without just "stooping to the lowest thrill denominator."

New estimated wait times signs for BLSC and Beast (maybe more?)

This is probably a good time to remind everyone that the block option is really really awesome.

^ I believe Sandstorm got moved next to Gwazi and this is occupying it's former location.

The fact that Bad Day by James Blunt was playing while re-entering the park yesterday seemed, uh, out-of-place. I don't know if that'd be considered a little thing though!
Edit: Daniel Powter, not James Blunt. Thanks TTD!

^Because rides like The Beast, Maverick, and Kumba aren't consistently regarded as some of the best roller coasters in the world.

Whatever you consider Lana Del Rey, Amy Winehouse, Daft Punk (especially their new album holy crap), Riff Raff, Tony Bennett, Fall Out Boy, Phoenix, blink-182, and Sleigh Bells to be is my music taste.

The search function is really cool. Especially when it's on a topic that has been thoroughly discussed recently.

I guess Kings Island really is turning into Disney World.

I guess it's technically been 2 days since the last challenge so
Easy: Beast going up the lift
Hard: At least 3 members in one photo (large group pictures don't count!)
Expert: Photo booth across from Boo Blasters

(Thought I already posted in this thread... Apparently not, since 90% of its posts are from before I joined.)
September 2008. That was a couple months after I joined KIExtreme, which, for me, is now a mausoleum of my most embarrassing posts ever. (I used the word "n00b," complete with both zeroes, so, so many times... So embarrassing, haha. I'm sure a couple posts of mine were SH0Xing--right, ahank? )
I will say this much for KIC: even though I was never around for PKIU, etc., which many of you seem to consider the glory days of the site, this place has more or less consistently remained one of the best park/coaster fansites around. It's had its rough moments, but it always seems to work out in the end. There aren't unreasonable forum rules, disrespect for the park and its rules, or an epidemic of know-it-all attitudes like several sites I could mention. Trust me, I've shopped around to see what's out there.
(TL;DR: GROUP HUG.)
Who is "SH0X"? Isn't that some kind of shoe?

It really does disappoint me that we aren't getting anything next year. Almost every other park (not just Cedar Fair) is getting a new major attraction next year. But the only thing we will get is probably a new show.
Good things come to those who wait.

Is Son of Beast closed for good?

That's like saying putting makeup on a lion makes it less vicious. While shops, rides, etc. may bring more crowds to the area, it doesn't hide the fact that the path would still be extremely long and totally unfeasible for the park to consider.

The station for The Bat was aesthetically pleasing, it had a Victorian sensibility to it. I like that they kept it. SOB station was supposed to reflect the mineshaft feel of The Beast to a certain extent? I don't know, I'd only been in it at night.
The station of Son of Beast is meant to reflect Outpost 5, the same outpost that Adventure Express is meant to "depart" to. See below:
This is the side of the SoB station. Now listen to track number 3 below:

Here's a general topography of the area from Google Earth:
While it's tough to see, the track on the middle-right side of the picture is Adventure Express and the shadowy building in the distance is FOF. Now, unless you want to want to walk down and up that big downgrade, I wouldn't want a path going down that way. Plus, it would subtract even more from Adventure Express's experience.

They were at the exit of Madame Fatale's Cavern of Terror this year. There's a picture of them floating around here somewhere.
