Yes, I have ridden Voyage (this summer actually) and I felt like my spine was being ripped out of my back. No thanks.

So call me ridiculous, but -
Could they be placing the ride there for viewing purposes? I'm trying to think about Kings Island's skyline from the road, and I think if it went in the Eurobubble/Flight Commander spot, it would be blocked by the Diamondback lift hill/Eiffel Tower.
If they put it next to the exit of Vortex however, I think it would make it much more viewable from the road and also make the ride seem taller.
But maybe not. Maybe I'm just crazy.

Holiday World wins. Why? Wildebeest.

But.
I can't compare the two. They're both completely unique experiences. Holiday World offers the charm of a small, family-owned park, but still offers a few world class roller coasters, flat rides, and a much-much-better-than-average water park. Kings Island offers more world class thrills and flat rides than Holiday World, but doesn't have the charm (or the water park) that Holiday World does.
But really, you can't compare these two parks. It's impossible.

Really now. We just got Diamondback two years ago and we're already complaining about not having a new roller coaster. Interesting.
This is perfect. I really couldn't be happier with the park (or CF, for that matter) with this addition. And I'm really surprised about the location! I didn't even know that spot exisited (let alone would be big enough for another flat)!

My turn.
For me, a visit to a theme park is not simply about the thrills (anymore). It's about the overall experience, which is the reason I voted for Paramount.
While Paramount did not keep the park clean, by any means (note the picture at the bottom), they did deliver a certain uniqueness about their rides and themeing. For example, I remember I loved Tomb Raider: The Ride, not because of the adrenaline rush or anything like that; it was because of the experience.
I grew up with Paramount, so I may be biased here, but; if I had grown up with Cedar Fair, would I have been a Kings Island (or, in this case, roller coaster) enthusiast at all? Maybe. But I don't think so, simply because Kings Island isn't an experience for me anymore, even if the park is clean, even if we have Diamondback (which, mind you, is in my top ten roller coasters).
Now some are probably like, "He's a nut, did he ever see how trashy the park was before Cedar Fair?" My answer to you is yes, and here is my proof -
This picture was taken by my mom in 2005 while in line for White Water Canyon. So yes, I have seen how trashy the park was, but to me, it didn't matter, because the experience I had was still a top notch one.

Nice trip report! I wish I had gotten the opportunity to go to Santa Cruz when I was in San Francisco a few weeks ago, and now I see that I missed out!

Overall i had a good day, a small complaints about the gift shops not having larger shirts, but not much i can do about that.
I had a hard time finding a small-size yesterday. There seemed to be plenty of larger shirts available (in DB Trading Post at least).

I still don't understand the logic behind Walkabout Way in an African themed park, but maybe that's just me.

Yes - No - Screamin' Swing
Not only would I like to see a screamin' swing at Kings Island, I think it would be a pretty likely addition. Cedar Fair has recently installed at some of their parks, so I could see one coming to Kings Island.

The water portion on Rhino Rally has been closed forever. The new track work on the train is complete. It looks as though footers are going to be poured sometime soon.
I'm immensely excited to see what comes out of this. I went to Busch Gardens in 2007 and loved it, and I don't believe this will disappoint.

If you do end up going to Kings Dominion, I don't see a reason why you shouldn't go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg as well.

Prelude - Just some short info before I start about past happenings before this trip (note - I'm not trying to make a sob story here, I promise, haha). Before going to Silverwood, I had completely lost interest in the theme park industry and, quite frankly, was not looking forward to visiting Silverwood. After Silverwood, however, my love was renewed. THANK YOU SILVERWOOD!
The night before the visit, my cousin had his wedding, so we decided to all go to Silverwood the day after. It started off as a pretty rainy day; we were hoping this would not last all day. On the bright side however, we were literally the only ones in the park.
Because of the rain, we decided to take a ride on the train. Not going to lie, I found the train to be extremely boring, and the commentary was pretty corny. However, there was a hold-up part of the ride that I enjoyed. It took place in a silver mine (which is appropriate, because the park is in Idaho) They "held the train up" (in reality, they were asking people for money for charity) and got on board, shot fake guns, etc. I won't ruin the surprise ending for you all!
I loved this part of the train, and found it really well themed and put together.
It was still raining, but my dad and I made our way to Coaster Alley anyways to see if anything was opened. Turns out, everything was!
This next portion of the PTR may have been the pinnacle of my trip to Silverwood. Tremors. It was SO good, I didn't get any pictures!
We walked back a little ways and I saw the entrance to Tremors in the corner of my eye. I had heard raving reviews about this roller coaster, and wanted my #50 to be a lasting memory, so I decided to get in the non-existent line. I rode in 1-1. I'm not going to spoil you with the little details of the ride that I loved, but it was, for me, easily beat out Voyage for the best wooden roller coaster I have ever ridden. It simply blew me away how much I enjoyed it. It all just, worked and flowed.
I could go on for days and days, but I won't.
Next up was Aftershock. After riding Tremors, I was pretty excited to ride this. It seemed to be running well all day, so I gave it a try. I rode in seat 1-2, and holy cow.
The rain hurt.
The lift was pretty breath-taking, but it somewhat hurt under-the-belt. For the most part, however, the ride was fairly smooth and very enjoyable. Silverwood has done a great job of keeping this ride up!
Timber Terror was up next. I, truthfully, wasn't expecting much by the looks of the layout. Boy was I in for a surprise.
This ride blew me away. The amount of airtime was nothing short of incredible (I believe I felt more on it than Voyage!)
I found 1-1 to be the best seat on this ride. It was so much fun!
I got the chance to walk around Coaster Alley for a little bit just to take some pictures and enjoy my surroundings. I thought it was a pretty cool area.

These kinds of rides make me sick, unfortunately.
The rest of the family ended up catching up with us, so we walked over to the Country Carnival area of the park.

After I went on a few flat rides and water rides (yes, it was still raining) I made my way over to corkscrew, the most photogenic ride in the park.
Aside from being the first modern inverting roller coaster, I didn't enjoy this one very much. It was pretty rough and extremely short.

Overall, I had a great time at Silverwood. It was a great, charming little park with multiple surprises and thrills waiting behind every corner.

Here's my ten cents;
I like the ride; if the general public, however, does NOT approve of the ride and the ride IS causing injury to guests (even though they may have previous conditions), the ride will be either removed or completely re-done to the point where it not the same ride anymore.
As goodyellowkorn said, 98% of the people who visit Kings Island on a daily basis are ordinary people; people who don't visit KICentral, people who don't look at Mitch Hawker's coaster poll. So if the park IS looking for people's opinions on the ride, they are going to look at the general public for these opinions, not us. The general public is what rolls in the nickels.
In no way am I agreeing or disagreeing with anyone here. But, if you are going to look at this from a logical, rational standpoint, this is what Kings Island is going to look at.

^I'm just glad that Kings Island has a program like this. To my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong) no other theme park does this. So, whether the answers are robotic or not, I'm glad we get them.

This is basic marketing. Kings Island markets towards families, while Cedar Point markets towards thrill riders. Which is why Kings Island is the best kids area 9 straight years and Cedar Point the best amusement park 12 straight years
I strongly disagree. Just because Cedar Point markets to thrill riders more does NOT automatically make it the best amusement park for 12 straight years.

Honestly, you should check out the waterpark if you get the chance. I prefer it to the park itself.
