  1. Rethemeing would be the way to go probably. At least get some lights and sounds back in. I rode it for the first time this year before the breakdown, and it was just like dark without water or sound... I don't plan on riding it again unitl something gets better or at least more interesting. My gut still wrenches when I think that they removed KCKC for it... it doesn't go with the rivertown theme at all. I don't think the old KCKC parts are in a boneyard like King Cobra's are, right? Will Cedar Fair lose the right to name it Tomb Raider or do you all think they would change the name for popularity/rivertown theme?
  2. That's exactly how I feel. I can only ride SOB in the front of the blue train. According to Brown, the ride still needs to be worked on as I got beat up on the back.. The end is kinda boring...
  3. To let you guys know: I did find a video with KCKC in it. However, the quality is kinda poor but you can still see SOME from the rider's viewpoint! Google search videos Does anyone else know of a better video of KCKC? And was the water green? For some reason I remember it that way...
  4. Haha I just asked my dad alot about KCKC and he agreed with everything EXCEPT that when I said "and the water was dirty and filled with garbage right" He looked at me funny and said "No, it was crystal clear". But my mom said it was nasty too, go figure! I said "didn't it make you smell horrible?" and he said "No, it was very fresh and clean". geeez...
  5. Alright interpreter, I need to call on your wisdom. So if you've ridden it many times, is the lift/chute height the same as KCKC. I know that the same company made both and ironically.. they were BOTH built in 73'!! So is it almost identical to KCKC besides the better cleaned water? I may make a trip to Hershey Park just to ride it, as odd as that sounds. The chute drop for CC is 50ft. Seems about right for KCKC?..
  6. Wow! I just saw it and think I may indeed get a chance to experience KCKC again. It looks like an arrow flume just like KCKC! Has anyone here ridden it? It has a chute drop of about 50 feet which seems right as KCKC's lift height is like 60ft. This looks VERY similar if not almost identical to KCKC. Am I correct?? Now I also need to know what part of PA it's in. I'm hoping the north-western corner?
  7. Sigh... I'm very sad about it. I worked the Wild Thornberry's log flume (old Kings mill) and am fascinated on how it ran as I worked on it and saw the detailed mechanical side to the ride. I wish more than ever that I could ride it now that I'm older and more mature. Like I said, very faint yet memories yet I'm certain I rode it at least twice. Once in 1993 and at least a couple more times after. I remember that platform so distinctly. The lift/drop/hydrolaunch are really hazy. OHHH, it must not have been intense at all though because I was a pansy in those days yet NEVER cried or was afraid riding KCKC. Ironically I may cry now as I want to experience it again so bad. Maybe working at a log flume does that to you. I was so suprised when I didn't see it that 1st day at work. I was like "Whoa! Where's the tall flume?" I don't miss any other ride half as much as this... Ohh and I take it KI (Paramount) did not care as much about ride maintinence as they now or garbage wouldn't be in a lake that I *ASSUME* the pumps used to power the ride.
  8. Right before I let this thing die, since I've never ridden a hydroflume just a bit more. 1. Was the trough the keeboat traveled in (after the lift) deep enough that the boat never touched bottom (Like it always does in the wild thornberry's) 2. Did the boat glide down the hill on water alone (No wheels on the boat's bottom) 3. Does anyone know WHY the water was so smelly and nasty? sorry but these are like the final key detail for me with KCKC.
  9. The Phantom theatre and KCKC
  10. I was scared of King Cobra and sadly haven't rode it ever
  11. Nate

    sob poll

Looks like more people are trying Nate's strat. of riding in the front but noboby is soloing out the blue train? W00t? I told you it's much smoother than the Red one... Ditto, but they SERIOUSLY need to get a 3rd train as those lines are too darn long. (Except for the Tuesday I went when it was walk on lol)
  12. In addition to eating in the car, I never set foot in any shop... ever. The only thing I was ever tempted to buy was an overpriced T-shirt that had Son of Beast on it because it is the tallest/fastest and may not be around for much longer. I hate concept of hiring employees to bother guests and try to take their picture. Why spend $20 on a picture you could have taken with your phone? Ohh, and a SOB ride photo was tempting but again so grossly overpriced I couldn't bring myself to get it. Still, I love the KI attractions and THAT'S what I come for. Once I'm in, I hold onto my $$$$
  13. Crap, why was ridership so low? Was the water just too disgusting to warrent the nice ride?
  14. Haha I just eat in the car (packed lunch) i don't want to spend $20 in mediocre food at obsurd prices. Ohh and I rode Xtreme Skyflyer but only because the price was slashed from $20 to $5!
  15. Okay, so somebody said that ridership for KCKC was low it's final years. Why would KCKC's ridership be "supposedly" lower than King's mill (Wild Thornberry's)? KCKC was both taller and faster. The only thing I could understand was how nasty the water was although when I was riding it I was young enough not to care. I guess they had it in a freaking pond or something?
  16. Seriously? If ridership was indeed that bad in it's last years, why? So I guess tricking 1st time riders on TR:TR is better?
  17. Hmm... ^ That confirms my theory that society (Especially adults who grew up with it and miss it) would greatly appreciate KCKC being reinstalled and Tomb Raider trashed. TR:TR made my head feel crappy afterwards, and a little disoriented but not happy at all. It was a one time ride for me in 2007, my first and last time on TR:TR. The only complaint I hear of KCKC was that the water was dirty...
  18. But most people I talk to hate TR:TR. They wish KCKC was rebuilt and think TR:TR is one of the biggest wastes of money the park put in. I guess it's popular for first time riders before they realize how much it sucks, especially without sounds/water/effects.
  19. NOOOO!! I was praying Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal would be rebuilt... please die TR:TR
  20. Platinum is a Cedar Fair Maxx Plus Pass, right?
  21. Do you know what it's called? I sure hope they don't remove it... last one
  22. my computer was being stupid, sorry. I got it all downloaded and understand the hydroflume now:) So, are there any hydroflumes like/as tall as KCKC ?) (Arrowthat are still running or are they all gone? I heard about Coal Cracker but it looks shorter heightwise and I'm not sure it's still up.
  23. Oops the thing posted it twice. And nobody was able to find a better vid other than the low grade one I came across?
  24. Okay guys, I read the topic link posted about hydroflumes but there is no information on them! It just says HYDROFLUME and has other links but nothing on topic, or at least I haven't been able to find it?? I'm still confused on the differences of log flumes and hydroflumes. The only difference I understand is that KCKC had water flowing down the hill while the Wild Thornberry's only had spritzers. Other than that I do not understand the hydroflume differences... I get it that they are higher, but are all of them being ripped out now? How are they inferior to log flumes (I still see log flumes up...)
