  1. Hahah, dude I don't care. PKI isn't my life. I was just browsing by and read it and thought I'd give my input. It was all respectable. I suppose I'll prepare for my ghostlyness? I've always wondered what it would be like! Anyways, I just come to read about the dribble, not post it. OOOOOOGA BOOOOGA!! (ghostly sounds) Hahahah at AZ!
  2. Ignorance and oblviousness is bliss buddy. Don't challenge what your post is... I will make you look like a fool.
  3. I think it's abundantly clear that this thread has it's share of idiots. (Snapper) PKI wouldn't waste the time, resources, nor effort to build a 60 ft. ferris wheel. 2001: Drop Zone & Face Off. 2002: Son of Beast. 2003: Delirium. 2004: Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay. 2005: Italian Job Stunt Track. 2006: THE CRADLE (FERRIS WHEEL) OF LIFE!!! I can see the ad campaign now! This isn't the Ohio Fair. (which has the largest ferris wheel) Honestly, if anyone can seriously think that in this cut-throat industry, PKI would build a ferris-wheel instead of a coaster or extreme flat, you're psychotically diluted. Furthermore, How can you possible theme a ferris-wheel? Snapper, it's a true blue as the sky, you're ignorant. I look forward to bashing you on your posts. Side Note: to those of you that are going to reply and say, "it's his opinion and don't bash him for it", **** off, we have no time for ignorance and stupor in society and opinions. Anyone else want to post their random, thoughless, floorless, sideshow opinions??? BRING THEM ON!!!
  4. Awesome article... this is the first "actual" indication that Great Wolf Lodge is in fact looking to build it's resort around the PKI area. Although I'm not so sure that the "open issues" are dealing with the campground, construction and land clearing is already happening where the hall of fame used to be. I'm not so convinced that this is where the problems begin, however, you all could very well be correct. One question though, if Great Wolf Lodge did build their resort, would the lifeguards or employees for that matter, be considered PKI employees?? Or would they be on the payroll of the seperate company?
  5. PR & GR were pretty POed that Paul Hogan didn't stop by at PKI. He called Ohio ... stupid Paul Hogan. BRING ON THE CHARLISE!
  6. I think PKI may be done for awhile replacing rides with rides, they're expanding for the next few years.
  7. CDBB isn't so much a "family-oriented" park when it comes to rides. Either you ride alone, or with no one. There is a kids area however, but the adults can't go down with you. I think it should stay this way.
  8. It was one of the "perks" to CDBB. The Beach is unsafe because: 1. They do not "scan" their water. Scanning is looking for victims and you have to be able to do it in increments. 2. Most of the lifeguards only know basic first-aid and not CPR, AR, Heimlich, or any other maneuvers that are critical when a victim is found. 3. When there is an emergency they do a long-whistle blast. Which is correct, HOWEVER, they ALL do a long-whistle blast. The point of a long-whistle blast is to let the emergency personelle know where the emergency is. See where there would be a problem??? 4. They don't have to re-train nor do they have to do inservices. Need I go on???
  9. PKI hasn't built on half of what they own. I'm guessing that the rest of the park expansion will end up over by Flight of Fear, and extend past the Action FX Theatre. They're not cutting around the woods around The Beast... it's part of the attraction, all the scenery.
  10. Well let's be a jerk about it Delirium... It's sad you're posting on the competition's board, are yours down?
  11. Come to think of it, I've never really been to other waterparks besides The Beach (Most dangerous place in the world) and Waterworks/Boomerang Bay. I was reading a thread on coasterbuzz and they were talking about SFKK dropping hints about their getting a new waterpark. It seems that getting and upgrading waterparks is all the rage these days. Someone who knows a SFKK exec member said they were trying to renovate their waterpark and that SFKK has too much competition between Holiday World's waterpark and PKI's Boomerang Bay. Is CDBB really a big attraction to guests??
  12. You're right, if you see something wrong then let them know. However, saying the park "needs help" is going over the boundaries. There's a difference between constructive critisism and critisism in itself.
  13. PKI doesn't need help, they're one of the most acclaimed parks in the nation. Yes, there's many above them, but PKI is one of the, if not "the" biggest profit-makers for Paramount Parks INC. There's many things that can be said about CP, such as when TTD doesn't clear the top and rolls back down, they shut it down and the maintenance men don't arrive for another half-hour. (first hand experience) Even though the sign clearly says, "This is a natural occurence, and the train will be relaunched." It's not. Furthermore, PKI realizes that people are complaining about the theming of their rides being lost, and are making efforts to revamp the theming in most rides and keep them themed. Such as Adventure Express... they re-themed it and it remains themed throughout the year. PKI doesn't need help, they're a professional organization and are very good at what they do. Furthermore, they don't need unexperienced criticisms from people like you. If you would like more theming, then apply for the job of "Ride Operations" and wait 20 years to get promoted to the job that decides which rides get revamped and which ones don't. Paramount's Kings Island knows what they're doing, and doesn't need cynical critisism from people like you. :censored:
  14. Hell, you can't theme every single ride. I mean how do you theme rides like "scrambler" and "dodgem"? Some rides are better left unthemed. Which may come as a shock to you theme-goers.
  15. you're in a grandfather clock that's been swept up by a tornado.
  16. First off, PKI isn't going to be selling it's park to Cedar Fair. The rides office would have no say in whether PKI would be sold or not... nor would the meeting that would've taken place have been in such plain sight. There's tens of people that work in the rides office that would leak the story and PKI's media team knows that more than most. Also, the "Big Guy" of Cedar Fair INC. most likely doesn't have the only say in what parks to buy or not. There's groups of people that need to approve changes like this. Ride swap... maybe. Park sellout... impossible.
  17. Adventure Express's is that you're on a runaway mining cart that is going through dangerous tribal regions. Tomb Raiders's (duh) is that you have to escape the cave and that statue thingy is the only thing keeping you from escaping. Spongebob's (duh too) is that you have to GET THAT PICKLE!!!
  18. At Amusement Today they report that Paramount's Kings Island has completed their new marquee sign. The report states: Advance Sign Group completes new sign for Paramount's Kings Island (OCT 25; 12 noon) Advance Sign Group of Columbus, Ohio has completed the fabrication and installation of a new main identification freeway sign for Paramount’s Kings Island. The sign was dedicated to Paramount’s Kings Island on Sunday October 17, 2004 with a ceremony that included the presentation of a plaque to King’s Island that will be featured inside the Park. The design was a collaboration of Paramount Studio Designers in North Carolina and Advance Sign Group’s award winning in house design staff. The most recognized feature on the sign is the massive reproduction of the famous Paramount Studios Bronson Gate which graces the entrance to Paramount’s Movie Studio in Hollywood, Ca. The gate feature has forty-foot tall decorative columns ending with a Corinthian capital. The sign towers to over eighty feet in height and spans a distance of forty-nine feet. Isn't it precious???
  19. Check out Canada's Wonderland... they have a ride just like Taz Typhoon except.... it empties into the lazy river. I WISH OURS DID THAT!! THAT ROCKS!!! There must be some law against it or something... any opinions on this? PCW WaterPark
  20. I'm going to believe PKI, over you guys anyday. No offense intended, but I would prefer expert testimony over anyone elses. Unless of course, someone here is a rep from Premier Rides INC.
  21. Failed to include CDBB>Shallow>Gators, CDBB>Shallow>Ducks, CDBB>Shallow>Sharks CDBB>Deep>Rays, CDBB>Deep>Marlins, CDBB>Deep>Dolphins . Thanks for forgetting us. :censored:
  22. I worked Waterworks and Boomerang Bay, and although I too believe that Boomerang Bay was hyped up (as usual) by the park a little too much, it was a unheard of addition for PKI. Never in their history have they had a renovating project like this one. The only thing that stuck out in my mind was the lack of shade that they promised. Sure there were some Solar Shades but these canopus were just in Jackaroo, and on the beach of Kookaburra. They added more concrete, something they promised there would be less of. The renovation did, however, cost much more than the park had anticipated. For example: Did anyone visit the park at the beginning of the year, and notice the beautiful fountain and how it had the cool padded surface wrapped around the fountain that welcomed guests into Boomerang Bay? It had to be taken out in the middle of the season and renovated along with the beach of Kookaburra Bay in order for safety concerns. There were slips and falls every weekday and weekend for that matter and it seemed as though first-aid was constantly at KB or the fountain. The guests did get clever, however, and turn the fountain into a "Slip-&-Slide" game. It was quite amusing. On top of this, there were problems this year with Snowy River Rampage. Imagine that... it's been having problems... and the lift had to be fixed, as well as the conveyor. So all in all, the park was, indeed, beautiful and well thought out. However, there were some glitches which needed to be worked out, and this can be expected. I do think that some things were missed, but in the park's defense, I believe that they will fix these and revamp these in the years to come. One day at a time, right?
  23. First off it's whine. I don't "wine". (Dane you should add a "grammar" check) Anyways, something dear got taken away from you? It's not family, it's not your girlfriend (if that's your cup of tea) nor is it your family pet. It's a old ride at PKI. MOVE ON! I only "whine" if I have a good reason, and yes, that would include if something dear was taken away from me. HOWEVER, a ride is not one of them, and if it is for you, I apologize for your sad, simple, and mistaken life. I apologize.
  24. Get a grip you people. These are freaking flyers, it's not that big of a deal!!! Go ride Shake, Rattle, and Roll or something, you almost get the same effect. Yeesh, I can't believe there's been 8, soon to be 9, pages of this dribble nonsense!!! The ride's gone... move on... new topic! :offtopic: Dane, the spellcheck takes too long
