  1. I was able to ride it today. My impression of it is that it is still as rough as it always was, but it doesn't hurt because there is a lot more room in the new trains. The ride is just boring now though, there is no airtime, it is slow compared to its top speed, and there is not much to it. The loop is what made it worth while and fun. There is no thrill except for the first drop. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed.
  2. I love Holiday World. I agree that the queues are too small, but the park is rather small, and that saves space. Splashin' Safari is by far the best waterpark I have been to. There is so much to do and it is very compact. The Voyage is by far the best wooden coaster I have ever ridden, and as you said, it is the Millennium Force of wooden coasters.
  3. Maverick took so long to get ready because of all of the electrical work that had to be done. Steel erection was done in about October. The electric for the LSMs was quite a project. I am not disputing your comment that KI did well, because you are right, they did. I am just stating a fact...
  4. How can you not be excited about Maverick???? It is going to be the best new ride in Ohio since Millennium Force. And as for Skyhawk, it is so much fun. Everything about The Point is awesome.
  5. I absolutely love Holiday World, and the water park is even better than the rest of the park even though they have three of the best wooden roller coasters in the world. The water park is by far the best and most entertaining that I have ever been to.
  6. I agree with you. I am a lifeguard, but you don't have to be a lifeguard to notice the amounts of people that stand in the parking lot at 10 am waiting for Security to unlock the gates for them to get in. These are all season pass holders, and I would be willing to bet that most of them wouldn't even consider a season pass if it was a separate admission.
  7. Ok, thank you very much. Apparently I do not get all of the emails, as my brother had about twice as many as I did. Anyway, my question has been answered, and I do appreciate the guidance.
  8. Are we 100% sure that employees get into the rest of the parks for free? I know that with Paramount we did, and I know that Cedar Fair did before, but I am just wondering because I have not heard anything for sure. Also, the back of the ID just says to get into Kings Island, whereas with Paramount it said to all Paramount Parks. I am not doubting you, I am just making sure. Thanks for the info!
  9. Thank you for all you have done for the community that is Kings Island. All of the information that you provided us with has been greatly enjoyed over the last few years, and I thank you very much!
  10. the temp passes are good all year if you wish, although it is highly recommended that you get the real one.
  11. I was wondering if anyone has, or knows where to find a timeline and dollar figures for the construction of The Beast that would be similar to the video they have played in the queue for the past several years. This all for a paper and any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  12. the site looks great! a much needed improvement, and the links accross the top are much easier to navigate with. Great Work!
  13. the job fairs are long and boring, first you fill out an application and turn it in, or if you applied online (which i would recommend because it won't take as long), they find your application, then you fill out some paperwork, then you get an interview, if hired you fill out more paperwork and then turn it in... sometimes it can take several hours depending on how many peopel there are.
  14. i am a lifeguard there, so i am in the water every single day. the wave pool is the only heated attraction. everything else is about the same temperature, although sydney sidewinder tends to be a bit chillier than everything else. kookaburra bay is generally a tad warmer than everything else becasue there is no shade on it.
  15. i would have to say the best addition, by far, is Flight of Fear. Second would be the drop zone/ face/off expansion
  16. most of the assembly and construction is contracted out... Maverick was constructed by a company called Adena
  17. very cool! it is getting exciting and progress is well underway, it appears.
  18. they wouldn't add a helix... the whole idea was to keep The Beast as the longest wooden coaster and Son of Beast is about four hundred feet shy of that. another helix would probably put it over.
  19. i totally agree with everything you said...
  20. accually there are quite a few rides at ki with vending machines in lines... top gun, drop zone, Delirium, and king cobra did
  21. it is a fun ride, not as good as wicked twister, but it can hold its own...
  22. Amen to that. Voyage whoops The Beast any day, and that is a hard thing to say.
  23. we do what we have to, but goggles (as long as they don't cover the nose or mouth) are ok on every ride/ attraction at boomerang bay, i can promise you that.
  24. Tomb Raider is a waste of space, hate to break it to you...
  25. goggles may be worn on any ride or attraction as long as they do not cover the mouth or nose, this is because, if we have to make a rescue, our first objective is to get the victim nose up, stable, and breathing, and it would be impossible if the nose is covered.
