  1. Webcam's back up. Not really much to see, and difficult to see at that, but I wanted to point something out.... Have they still not reached the Action Theatre entrance with the midway concrete?
  2. I just have to go back to a post I made a few days ago: Granted, this is a much more reasonable cause for excitement then a park map, but the idea remains the same. I think it's pointless to speculate on what it is until we have more conclusive information. I know for a fact we can wait until next Friday!
  3. I have a feeling that if Don Helbig scratched the right side of his head in an interview, we would, within three days, reach the obvious conclusion that we are getting the worlds first B&M Hyper Invert with 12 inversions that will be the main attraction of an X-Base expansion, featuring 3 new flat rides, high-capacity gravy buffets, and the world's first Giga-Bathrooms! Ok, I had a lot of fun writing that, but you get the point I'm making Maybe a folded map is just a folded map....
  4. Looks like we're getting the tree-less, compact, color-less map that KD and other parks got last year. Well, it's just a map, I guess.....
  5. That doesn't even begin to describe what Action Zone has become. Yeah, the paint jobs stink, but in my opinion, the worst of it is beyond that - the giant open concrete with absolutely nothing there, the stupid go kart circle in the middle of a grass field, the rusting Congo Falls, the lack of any unified theme or feel to the area (From the rides to the handful of buildings: an ice cream shop, souvenir store, and grill.) Not to mention the dead end midways: one to get to an invert that has a lot of downtime, but you don't know it until you've walked all the way back; another to get to a suspended that has a longer queue than ride. My hope is that KI's seemingly systematic revamp of areas; Rivertown in 2009, Planet Snoopy in 2010, and now Coney Mall in 2011; continues to reach Action Zone in the near future. I would love to see some trees, some paint jobs, some upgraded theming in ride queues and buildings, some brick pavers, maybe all to go along with a brand new coaster toy, perhaps where SoB or Thunder Alley sits? Wistful and fantasy like, I know, but I can dream. And given KI's revamp history, I don't think a lot of that is out of the question. Jackson, who criticizes because he cares. 57 days, 17 hours, 8 minutes, 20 seconds! (Yes, that is on my iGoogle homepage )
  6. Awesome! Quite a good thing to see, not only for those who weren't able to ride 305 in the brief period it was without the trim (Ahem...mua ) but it's also great to see Cedar Fair taking a different route for a coaster fix other then the standard "Put a trim on it."
  7. LOL! Don't listen to this one guys! He's one giant red herring! Jackson, hoping people don't take that seriously, I've learned quite a lot from this particular Terpy
  8. Wow, haven't checked this thread in a while! Awesome job Paul, keep it up, these are fantastic! This picture in particular I thought was pretty interesting, since this angle has been captured many times from many different time periods. I thought I'd take one of the pictures I took of Planet Snoopy back in June 2010 and tinker with your photo to get a good comparison. I went on to photoshop and used my picture as a background, then took Paul's picture and used the perspective tool a bit until I got a good overlay of the picture. I also cropped out Planet Snoopy so you get a side by side comparison: So yeah. Not much, but I thought it was kinda interesting, and I was bored.
  9. Looks like they're expanding the octagon to a wider, more circular pattern:
  10. Aha! A part of a post by Monroe that I actually get! That's a great song! Jackson, who has never been to Chicago, but feels proud of himself for recognizing that tune, and now finds it in his head....
  11. I've been to both, Universal Studios in 2009 (Before Harry Potter opened) and Sea World in 2010. Both are parks that you don't go to for the coasters like you would KI or CP, they're both immersive experiences that go far beyond the coasters. In my opinion Universal is the better park in both coasters and park overall, but I think you should definitely visit both when you have the opportunity. They're both epic in their own ways.
  12. Sigh.....Oh well, that's half an hour extra sleep I get on days I go to KI.....I'm not getting there half an hour early for ERT and WindSeeker and Vortex.....
  13. My god, this ride and entire expansion looks incredible! I need to get to BGT when I go to Florida this year! I can't wait!
  14. Sorry, I remember it being down over the weekend and into the week for some reason. Must have been my browser. And now, the webcam is back up for me. Looks like the concrete is finished being poured for the midway.
  15. If that is WindSeeker, then its right about on schedule, pieces were supposed to arrive mid February and go vertical in early March. I don't think there's any reason to suspect that the downtime of the webcam has anything to do with the pieces arriving....then again, it has been nearly a week of downtime...and why does it always crash right when the good stuff is happening?.....its a conspiracy! Kings Island is keeping it from us! Its so clear now!
  16. I have to wonder about the reasoning behind opening April 30th myself. They're not cutting days, as they're adding days in May to make up for it. So I would guess attendance issues for those first few weeks in April would be the culprit, but then why open those weekdays in May? I dunno, I'm not a finance guy. Just looking forward to the thirtieth is all!
  17. "You know my wife says, if I keep talking about Kings Island, I'm gonna turn into one of them enthusiasts." *Points at Fanny pack* Priceless!
  18. It looks like they're wrapping the midway to go around WindSeeker and end at Action Theatre. Interesting, it seems similar with what they did with The Beast entry plaza, wrapping it around Diamondback's second helix. I hope this doesn't mean minimal trees, sadly though I think that may be the case.
  19. I think it will come to be known as simply "Gotham City Gauntlet" in the same manner that our dark ride has come to be known as just "Boo Blasters". The second line, Escape From Arkham Asylum, sounds like a descriptive subtitle that should have been put on the sign and logo but not in the official name, in my opinion.
  20. In my honest opinion, Action Zone was in pretty poor shape long before SoB went SBNO for the most recent time.
  21. They're probably so sick of hearing about it that they aren't even bothering anymore.
  22. LOL! That was awesome! Thanks for posting Terpy! Man, now I kinda miss dealing with GP goobers at the park like that....
  23. I'm on the Verizon network and get fine reception at KI, minus perhaps Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, Flight of Fear, and a few other spotty indoor locations.
