  1. It looks like it was dropped dead in the middle of the midway. I can see them possibly working Vortex and WindSeeker's exit put together, and WindSeeker's entrance routed around next to the restrooms, but how in the world are they gonna fit Action Theatre into that? Oh well, we'll see how it all works out! Can't wait to ride it!
  2. Maybe KI's just having some fun. I mean, with the break in activity with WindSeeker (I'm going to assume since concrete still isn't ready yet) there's not too much activity going on at the moment, so maybe they decided to fill the void by posting a fun little picture of a track in the snow. A reference to The Beast paw marks? Maybe. A hint towards the future of the park in any way? That I think is a stretch. Maybe a print in the snow is a print in the snow, just as a pile of dirt was just a pile of dirt. *Ducks and Runs from the booing fans*
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't the State of Ohio own the airport and the land it's on? I've flown out of that airport at least once a year for 4 years now and when leaving the airport you always see "Welcome to Kentucky" signs coming out, and from my understanding it's because Ohio owns the airport, could be wrong though.
  4. Yep, I love how they've done Rivertown, then Planet Snoopy, and now Coney Mall, it's almost like they're systematically rejuvenating the park! Thanks, I just got that CD yesterday I do remember one grass island had it's trees removed in 2010, and they may have removed more for construction. I think they'll plant new ones for 2011 if they were removed. Did I miss something? What happens on Toosday?
  5. Every picture that's released makes me more and more anxious for opening day. At first I was pretty "meh" about WindSeeker, but the ride has really grown on me, and I'm now to the point where I'm itching to try it out. Not to mention the makeover of Coney Mall is making me excited, considering how great of a job they did with Rivertown in 2009 and Planet Snoopy 2010. Is it April yet?
  6. Right now I'm leaning more in the direction of HWN. While Cedar Point does offer a lot, I think I prefer HWN for a few reasons. For one, Holiwood Nights is not cramming a lot of their rides into 3 ERT sessions, and not several rides into one ERT session. ERT on Raven, Legend, and Voyage for a few hours. So simple and manageable, it doesn't have you running from ride to ride trying to get some rides in. Yet in my opinion, still just as good ERT on any of Cedar Point's coasters. Also, HWN is much better run in my opinion, and the waterpark ERT and food among others are really great. Not to mention, its Holiday World. Free drinks, sunscreen, parking, and all of the other things that make Holiday World my favorite park. That's not to say though that CoasterMania isn't a good event. I had a blast when I went in 2009 and would not mind going again. Besides, I'll probably end up following my girlfriend to whichever Park she goes
  7. KI's is much further along then Knotts construction wise, but you never really can tell. We do live in Ohio, after all, and our weather is known to be less then cooperative at times.
  8. Uhm....a lack of laws or government acts respecting it, I guess?
  9. The actual text from the first amendment is: http://www.firstamendmentcenter.org/about.aspx?item=about_firstamd So in some people's opinion, giving tax breaks (A law or government act) to the Ark Park (An establishment of religion) would break that. I'm no Constitutional Analyst so I'll let you all decide.
  10. Ah, I stand corrected. I hope it ends up being built at all, I'd hate to see it lost in the confusion.
  11. I think they're talking about it's specific location within the park, but I may be wrong.
  12. Wow, I love the way this is turning out. The figure 8 element is looking great, the supports are just plain wild! I can't wait to ride this next summer, along with everything else Busch Gardens Tampa has to offer!
  13. Not to mention; to my understand, mind you, the second tunnel used to be split into two tunnels; two underground tunnels instead of one above ground tunnel with an underground entrance and exit. Another nice little feature added later in its life. You could write a book on all the the changes The Beast has undergone in the last 31 years.
  14. A nice, big, shiny, new, top of the line B&M Hyper coaster would do quite nicely. Oh, wait... In all seriousness, as long as Cedar Fair (Dick Kinzel especially) is in charge, I doubt we see Kings Island approach Cedar Point level status. Even without them running the park, it'd still be quite a feat to bring it to Cedar Point level.
  15. No, but people still base entire vacations around Cedar Point. They have an onsite hotel and several off site hotels, things like a beach, mini golf, a marina, campgrounds, a resort, not to mention national name recognition. To say it's not a destination spot would be a stretch, imo.
  16. Huh? KI is a seasonal park. Cedar Point, Disneyworld, Universal Studios, those are destination parks.
  17. Glee takes place in Ohio. KI and CP are the local amusement parks, so they mention them every now and again. If it took place in Massachusetts, they might make the same references to Six Flags New England. I don't think they're hinting at anything, guys.
  18. Never heard of one for KI. If it is true, it must not be very restrictive, since Drop Tower, Eiffel Tower, and soon to be WindSeeker are all over 300 feet.
  19. It's not. Kinda pathetic that it even crossed her mind to sue because she tripped. Let alone that she actually did, and sought a settlement of $250,000!
  20. As much as I like and respect Tom Petty, I think I prefer Pink Floyd's by a tad Nice contribution to the song chain by the way
  21. Queen was great! Gotta love em! By the way, nice Jim Morrison avatar, beastfan11. I needs me a Roger Waters avatar.
  22. I wonder if it will create a flying sensation?
  23. I dunno, it seems lazy to me that they're not only leaving the track the same color, but they also wont be painting the supports. I mean yes, it'll probably look much better come opening day, but from my perspective, choosing only to paint the track and to keep it the same color seems pretty half hearted, compared to the absolutely grand job they did with Planet Snoopy last offseason. It just shows to me that they're capable than so much more then what they're doing.
  24. Action Theatre, oops. That's what you get when you try to make a post while dealing with a couple of 11 year old kids climbing around you. The joys of friends over on Thanksgiving.
