  1. From when I was working at KI... A child is misbehaving, in a non-threatening and non-harmful way, and the parent points to me and says, "See that cop right there? He is going to arrest you if you don't stop." Suppose that same child becomes lost at Kings Island and needs help finding their parents. Think they may be afraid to approach me for help if they are afraid of me arresting them for misbehaving?
  2. Just a guess... a dark ride where you get to shoot zombies! That would be awesome!
  3. Don't forget that Universal also has certain licenses for The Avengers characters.
  4. I never parked in Gold Pass parking because I did not want to get stuck in there if there happened to be an incident that made everyone leave the park at the same time, not including close of the park. I was glad to see it go just for the safety of the guests. Any time I go to KI now, I rarely see the Preferred Parking area full so I am not as concerned. Still wouldn't pay extra to save a few feet of walking compared to what you do in total for the day.
  5. Does that mean Banshee's your 2nd favorite coaster anywhere? I like Hulk a lot too, but it's probably not in my top 5 (neither is Banshee FWIW, though I enjoy both greatly). Banshee still doesn't beat Diamondback for my favorite ride at KI.... Incredible Hulk is my favorite, but I think I am biased since I used to live in Orlando and will be heading back to live there next year. I would say Banshee is a step in the right direction though. I like the attempt at theming but I think it would have been cool to walk through a dim lit building with Eve popping out and doing her scream every so often.
  6. I was not happy and neither was the lady. I can keep it under control for the most part, but if the lady would have went back up there after our ride, it would not have been pretty. Definitely was the better choice to ride and walk away. LOL! She is pretty darn scary when she is mad! Even some random guests said, "Wow! We can't believe how nasty she was to you!" I couldn't imagine if I was a once a year guest or a KI newbie though. It would have left a permanent bad taste in my mouth about the park and would really consider never returning. I have never been treated like that by a ride op at any other park. Also, personal opinion, Incredible Hulk at IOA still beats Banshee. Just thought I would throw that in there.
  7. I went Tuesday evening with the lady and it was a walk on for Banshee. With it being like this, I would have thought I could ask the ride op to sit in the front row.... nope! Made us sit in the middle of the train. Only 2 people were waiting for the front. I pointed this out to the ride op and was told, "I assigned you a spot and that's where you need to sit." I understand that there are signs posted that prefered seating is not guaranteed, but I thought that was ridiculous and so was the employee's attitude.
  8. There is also a First Aid station in the water park near the train pick up/drop off area.
  9. Personally, it doesn't bother me a bit if someone needs to step out of the line for a medical issue and then return with their party. I don't see this as having any negative effect on my wait time. The only time I take issue with line jumping is when a large group of people tries to enter the line with just one person who has been standing in line, This seems to happen more often when school groups are at the park. Here's the thing folks, yes the rules say no line jumping, but sometimes that needs to be bent based on the totality of the circumstances. I am just as excited to hurry up and get on a ride but I want everyone to be able to enjoy those rides as well. I have some friends who are diabetic who would feel extremely embarrassed to even consider getting one of the disability passes and I completely understand why they would just want to stand in the normal line.
  10. Some of those security officers are very young and inexperienced with how to handle a situation like this. I know this isn't a good excuse, but the park does give the officers some discretion on how to handle some situations. Did the guest continue the action once the security officer advised them not to do that? Was WindSeeker up in the air when the shoe was thrown? One time, a guest was able to sneak a cup of ice onto Vortex and as it was going up the lift hill, the guest threw the cup behind him. A young guest was sitting a few rows behind him and a piece of ice struck the young guest in the eye. I arrested the thrower of ice for assault. Serious consquences can be had from dumb decisions. I would also like to point out that you judged a large department of people after one incident. Think that is really fair?
  11. I made my first trip to the park in 2 years on Friday. I got there about 1030, in the morning, and there was no line for Banshee! Have to love it when the kids are still in school! I rode it 5 times and it is one awesome ride! I rode in the front row twice, smack dab in the middle once, and the rear row twice. Also... I went to get my pass processed and was given a paper temporary gold pass because they have ran out of gold passes. I was told to try in the beginning of June for a card! Has this happened to other members on this site? (Had to narrow the scope of the question so I would not get "Terped.")
  12. Ohio Revised Code 4513.21 is where you can find the law about vehicle horns, sirens, and warning devices. If you take time to read it, one could argue that as long as the Banshee scream can be heard from 200 feet away and does not sounds like a siren, bell, or whistle that you could use it. At least, that is my Banshee friendly interpretation of the law,
  13. To go back a little further in this topic, yes, there are some scary things that do happen in the world and someone with a lot of motivation sometimes can pull off a tragic event, but yours truly spent a few years at the park making sure this would never happen and I promise that there are a lot of good people keeping the park safe right now. If you see something suspicious at the park, please make the nearest employee aware of the situation so it can be addressed, but also relax and have fun! You are in good hands at the park!
  14. On several occasions, I have considered giving a lengthy explanation of my ride experience after hearing, "Welcome back riders! How was your ride?" Personally, I would rather just have the Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure round of applause afterwards and that be that.
  15. I think it will be the world's largest Dippin Dots stand where the employees will have Kings Island's long term plan for everyone to see.
  16. Lifetime Achievement Award for Most Line Jumpers Kicked Out of the Park: Whodey2007
  17. A case of an employee saying the darnest thing... Around 1pm, on a rather busy day, a deer was running through the park, close to where Diamondback is now. A security officer happened to see this, keyed up his radio, and instead of asking for a park police officer or security supervisor, he asks for one of the firefighters. The firefighter's response was classic! "Is the deer on fire?" I went home with my face hurting from laughing at that visual! Maybe this could be used for an idea for the next Halloween Haunt attraction?
  18. During my working days at the park, I was standing by Tower Drinks when a guest, who had a few too many alcoholic beverages, approached me and asked, "Where's the Eiffel Tower?" I said, "You just missed it! They took it back to Paris two weeks ago!" The guest cursed at himself for missing it... and then his day at the park ended shortly after.
  19. It's very exciting that it is getting closer to opening day to finally ride this awesome looking ride! I look forward to many rides on this new attraction, but: Please check out the movie, 1984. IMHO, this site and the park has taken that movie to heart. The names of some of these attractions are also names of other things and if the park wants me to capitalize the rides names and this site is going to enforce this, then my form of civil disobedience will be to not use the names of the attractions or of the park in any of my future posts.
  20. Eli's, across the street from the old school house. They have amazing waffle fries! Usually where you can find a lot of KI employees after their shift as well.
  21. They throw them away because no one is near them and they are trash at that point. And because there's money to be made when replacements are made. Actually, when I did a theft report, which included a stolen pass, I made sure the victim had their card replaced free of charge.
  22. Oh. Sorry. I feel silly now.... My bad for not putting in the right words and stuff Don't let the actions of a few put you down. Some people did not learn the old adage of "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." Keep posting things you think are funny and cool and have fun with it! Thank you,WHODEY2007! You made me feel much better! You are welcome! Have a great time on here!

  24. While working at the park, I was standing under the Eiffel Tower and a drunk guest came up to me and said, "Where's the Eiffel Tower?" I said, "Well, you just missed it! They took it back to Paris 2 weeks ago."
  25. I would love to see something like City Walk at Universal added to KI. I really enjoy all the resturants, shops, and night spots there.
