  1. That construction started in 1986. But if you avoid rush hour, it only takes a few minutes to get through.
  2. I prefer 75 north to route 6...... Get to Mason Road/Liberty Way and it will get you to 75 quickly. Just make sure to avoid Dayton during rush hour!
  3. I rode it the day it opened to the public in 1987. When its inevitable last day arrives, I hope to ride it on that day as well.
  4. 2014.... The year that KI employees were kept busy measuring children who grew to 48 inches tall in August in order to make their parents pay for an adult pass for the entire season and accused parents of forgery in order to prevent disabled children from riding roller coasters they had ridden in 2013, while failing to apprehend two women from Kentucky who robbed 30 lockers while the employees were busy doing so......
  5. If RMC coasters are wooden coasters, so are Gemini and Adventure Express...... RMC coasters are every bit as wooden as The Voyage is steel!
  6. In my opinion, the most troubling allegations are that a patron of the park was falsely accused of forgery by park employees and the "bait and switch" type allegations contained in the media accounts.
  7. The only problem I see with this ride is the fact that you will have to deal with the staff and clientele at Carowinds in order to ride it!
  8. The "prize" costs the park less than what the "winner" pays to play the game. The park makes money either way.
  9. Why would they issue an apology? Regardless of how any of us feel on this issue, the park operated in accordance with their policy. The proper talking point is in the spirit of : "We regret any inconvenience that any of our guests experience. We always endeavor to provide every guest with an enjoyable experience every time they visit our parks. We will be examining and evaluating this incident in the interest of providing each and every one of our guests with the best experience possible."Not the "screw her" response that the media is putting out there. You're a guy with kids. What do you think a more fair policy would be? Measure the child when the pass is processed and live with the results for a few months. Or offer a "family package" that is unrelated to height. Yeah, I agree that the child should be measured at processing. Tough with online renewals, but as Terp said, they're saving a lot of money with the renewals that way.I still wonder if this was their first visit of the season. If it was (and the article did not specify) then I see the park's point : the kid simply had the wrong pass. But if this was visit number 10 then the kid had clearly grown and it was in bad form to make them upgrade so late in the season. we don't know if the child met the requirement for a Jr pass at the time of processing. And, that, my friend, is a big part of why we are having this discussion! There is a big difference between a child who is 48 inches even on Labor Day and a child who is 52 inches tall trying to get in with a Jr. pass on Opening Day! Walt Disney is rolling over in his freezer at the thought of this discussion even taking place! Mod edit: fixed quote

  12. What a mess! Apparently the people who thought up Fast Lane forgot that there would be a reduction in the value of general admission tickets and passes and that the market would respond accordingly. Now that, as the second quarter numbers show, Fast Lane has been proven to be the break-even move that the basic laws of economics always dictated that it would be, they are forced to gouge five-year-olds and issue public statements containing no apologies for doing so. What a sad state of affairs.
  13. So, if a pass holder turns 62 years old during the season, thereby earning "senior" status, do they get a partial refund? I doubt it.
  14. Fast Lane reduced the value of a General Admission ticket (while CF kept the price the same) and the market is reacting in exactly the way that a High School economics class would predict.
  15. If you don't like Intamin, just wait until 2:00 p.m. when that B&M invert that had a two-hour wait when you entered the park at opening is a walk-on!
  16. The Beast. People who think that a B&M invert is the best thing in the history of Kings Island are too young to remember what the park was like in 1979....
  17. Since the design and the name are both 1990s retreads, I would suggest this or, better yet, this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiBYM6g8Tck LOL!!!!
  18. On this site, that would be Intamin's fault!
  19. Wow, it seems like only yesterday that I was reading press releases about how safe and reliable B&M seats and restraints were....
  20. Taking a 2 minute and 40 second ride and speeding up the animation to produce a 1 minute and 54 second youtube video tends to have that effect.
  21. 1650 passengers per hour would mean sending out 51.5625 full 32-passenger trains per hour, which is a full train about once every one minute and 10 seconds.
  22. This from the park that had to shut down its other B&M coaster for several weeks last year to replace footings that were only three years old....... It was not "several weeks". It was a mere week if my memory is correct. I'll take a week or two of maintenance any day over a ride being closed for months. cough*** Intimidator 305***cough. What does Intimidator 305 have to do with a B&M topic? You do know that it isn't a B&M, right?

  24. Yes, splash some soap in the guests' eyes! I'm sure they'll enjoy it!
