  1. Kings Island's Gold Pass perks page says that gold passes are good for ERT any day the park is open except for Fridays during Haunt. Link here: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/admission/passes/gold_pass_benefits.cfm Therefore, I would think that it is good for the usual ERT on Saturdays and Sundays, though I cannot say for sure. In the past, most of the major attractions were open during Haunt, not sure about this year. Hope this helps!
  2. Hear, hear! That song is SOOOO annoying!!! Agreed!! When I rode It's a Small World, we got stopped for a short while. It was probably only a couple minutes, but it seemed like HOURS. If I never hear that song again, it will be too soon.
  3. I have a t-shirt from almost every park I have been to, a Diamondback "Slippery When Wet" teaser sign, and several park maps, plates, and other assorted knick-knacks.
  4. Wonder if they are going to put up a webcam so we can watch the construction. I don't know how interesting it will be, but it will be something to help pass the offseason.
  5. BINGO!!! I have one too, and that's where I got it, except I got it last year.
  6. I felt the same way... and then we went to Hersheypark. I'm not sure how they managed to design a park where it seems you only go uphill, never downhill. Then again, it was the 4th of July, unbearably hot and packed, and at the end of 12 days of park-hopping. Exhausted doesn't even begin to describe it. It might not be as bad as it seemed at the time, lol.
  7. Sounds like you had an awesome day! It makes me sad that I didn't take advantage of my day off and head over to the park.
  8. You don't necessarily have to stop liking Don't Stop the Music just because they stop Don't Stop the Music. You just have to stop watching Don't Stop the Music, because it will be stopped... or something like that.
  9. Regarding Backlot Stunt Coaster, I took my niece this summer and she is just barely over 48", and her head reaches the bottom of the headrest. Also, the rider safety guide (available on KI's website, link here: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/_upload/pdf/2010/2010%20Rider%20Safety%20Guide.pdf) states that "To ride, guests must have the ability to brace themselves upright in the seat and support their head and neck during the ride movements." (Bottom of page 5) If at any point I had been concerned about my niece's ability to not flop around like a rag doll, I wouldn't have taken her on any of the bigger rides. Surf Dog requires an adult (16 or older) to sit on the end of each row. Obviously, a child's legs are much smaller than an adult's, and if the manufacturer or KI was concerned that the lapbar would not close tight enough to be safe for riders of all sizes, they would have designed the lapbar to close on each rider individually. Match riders in each row according to leg fatness?! Are you kidding me? What do you expect them to do, measure everyone's thighs before they board? I have never heard of anyone falling out of the ride because a larger person didn't allow the lapbar to come down far enough.
  10. The operating calendar clearly states that the park closes at 8pm this week, Monday through Thursday. Also, we went Monday night and the scrolling signs out in front of the metal detectors said that the park closed at 8pm that evening. This scrolling sign also gives you handy information such as which rides are closed that day. I always make sure to check www.visitkingsisland.com before I head over to the park. Edit: Yeah, what DiamondbackCMH said.
  11. I got a good giggle out of that. From now on, you should refer to yourself as "Super Fan Ryan Suhr."
  12. Already posted 2 spots up ^^ Thanks, I noticed that after I posted, which is why I edited it.
  13. According to the report on channel 5, it is going in Coney Mall, and not where SOB is. Also, they mentioned that they are still trying to "smooth it out" so they can re-open it. Edit: Dang, you guys type fast!
  14. I guess my source was not very reliable? Thanks for the update! No problem!
  15. The scrambler was up and running today. Apparently they got it fixed.
  16. Flight of Fear is not painted black. The supports appear to be black, but the track looks more like a silver color. http://rcdb.com/66.htm?p=12707 I don't know if it is in the rotation to be painted at all, but if you look at some of the other pictures on RCDB, the track looks pretty rusty. However, I would imagine that since the track is indoors and therefore not exposed to the elements, the need for a paint job would be even more infrequent.
  17. HAHAHAHA! I wish they really sold "Jump to conclusions" mats.
  18. rcfreak, that's the part I was agreeing with you on. I mean sure, they probably are getting a WindSeeker, but we won't know for sure until Tuesday.
  19. Agreed! And sure, the clues point to a WindSeeker, but I am not totally convinced that is what Cedar Point is getting.
  20. How many Pollocks does it take to... Oh, nevermind.
  21. The second picture clue is up on Cedar Point's facebook page. It's a dinosaur skeleton that leads to this when you click on it: http://www.kidsdinos.com/ Hmmmm... Edit: CincyMan98 beat me to it!
  22. Yes. Someone does, I am sure. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
  23. Please, please, please... somebody tell me that I'm not the only one who had to google what "phiten" is. And just a month or two ago you all had me looking up what pogs were... At 37 I don't feel old, but all you kids are developing a knack for making me feel that way! At 10 years younger than you I had to google "phiten." Does that make you feel better now? However, I used to own a disgusting amount of pogs...
