Oh my... I wonder if Matt Ouimet could pull off the "tattooed leather-clad biker" look as well as Jim Reid-Anderson.

Harmonized. That sounds so lovely and appealing I get the warm and fuzzies. Count me in.
I know you're joking, but since I love edumacatin' folks -- it's called "harmonized" because the provincial government decided to combine the provincial and federal sales taxes in to one single tax.

^^ Then definitely not worth the risk on only 4 platinums. Was hoping to save $30 per pass to pay for the passport cards to actually go to CW. Do they have that VAT Europe has or is a special amusement park tax?
We pay a lovely 13% "Harmonized Sales Tax" (HST) on almost all purchases in Ontario.

When you were at the top of Valravn could you feel the ride swaying in the wind? I've heard the structure shakes a lot.

I don't want my park time interrupted by juvenile jokes/noise while I'm visiting seldom seen friends, talking or listening or thinking.
This reminds me of my last trip to NJFTP. The ride op on The Dark Knight was quite literally yelling inane Joker impressions into the mic. If he were any louder people in the queue probably would have suffered hearing damage...
I appreciated the recorded spiels at Hershey. Professional and classy.

Edit: didn't see malem's post above.

Is that what happened? I had thought Cedar Fair was considering the product from the "other company" but when they had finally settled on Mondial the "other company" started publicly whining about patent infringement, ruining the announcement for the WindSeekers.

Last I had seen, the lift/drop structures have been removed but the concrete troughs, station, and some other scenery elements still remain.

Canada's Wonderland is in Canada.
Regulatory requirements are different.
Sure, but other Cedar Fair parks, including Kings Dominion, Carowinds, and Cedar Point, have similar lists on their websites. My point still remains.

Canada's Wonderland has a rather comprehensive list of food options available for those with dietary restrictions. Presumably it would not be impossible for Kings Island to do the same.

I'm pretty sure Honorarius is Canadian, assuming he is the person of the same username from CWMania. So there's no need to tell him what Canada Day is....

I interpret that as a reference to the start of daily operations tomorrow.

It seems like the biggest screwup on Cedar Point's part was combining OSU day and "preview" night. If there are going to be opening day jitters, they will just be exacerbated by huge crowds. And I'm sure the crowds are even worse with a new coaster opening.

KI doesn't have to respond to KK or HW. Quite frankly, nothing short of "Disney's Cincinnati Adventure" would be something KI has to respond to. Under its current ownership, Kentucky Kingdom will never be a viable threat to Kings Island. Holiday World, at one time, was headed down the path of being a genuine threat to to consistently poach visitors from Indy and Louisville. Now...
Resting on your laurels is never a good business strategy...

I'm surprised it wasn't a lifetime ban.

Sheesh, sorry about the excessive caps. Just trying to emulate an advertisement...
McSalsa, that ride looks really interesting! Does anyone know the last ride that Mack designed for a Cedar Fair park?
Yes. Avalanche Run at Kings Dominion.
...Coast Rider at Knott's? It's as recent as 2013.

Actually, they are for brakes (picture is Behemoth, I believe). You can even see the mounts for them on the spine in the Silver Bullet picture.

Hey, I took that photo! Funny seeing where your own photography will end up...
And yes, it is indeed Behemoth.

Comcast is like the bad version of Google... They just eat everything but instead don't give back and want more and more.
Eh, Google is kinda guilty of that, to some extent. Just as an example....they acquired Songza (a great free, ad-free music steaming site that I really enjoyed) and crappily integrated it with Play Music and started injecting ads every few songs.

Overall, I prefer the Flash Pass Qbot system over the Fast Lane wristbands, though I do find the way its been implemented on certain rides to be very irritating.

3:14 - just paid - 1 hour and 14 minutes in Skyline line!
That's appalling...wow. That's enough time to leave the park, eat elsewhere, and then come back. Possibly with time to spare (and undoubtedly with nickels spared, too).

It's also probably running with hard nylon wheels right now, which makes the train louder and faster.

And the 8 or so threads this user has started on the roller coaster subreddit about the exact same topics (without ever participating in the threads, I might add!).

I also read that TTD is getting some new paint as well. I'd love to see how that gets done considering the logistics. I hope CP shows how that works.
Discovery/Daily Planet actually made a great little video about it:

Former Chick-fil-A will now be Frontier Inn. Fresh chicken, premium handmade tenders, farm fresh salads, sides.
I'm so thrilled that Cedar Point is going outside of their comfort zone to bring us healthier food options.

Proposed coaster to come to Canada's Wonderland

I imagine the park wants to get the underwater tunnel beneath Vortex done before the season starts.
