  1. $150,000 seems pretty cheap compared to some of the other similar rides
  2. I'm working on a model coaster with the same track type made out of aluminum and brass tubes. I'll start a thread here soon.
  3. It does look a lot like a modified version of Intamin quad track. I'm liking the dual spine. I think there is a good chance that it could be a hyper or giga coaster. KD is in need of a giant steel coaster to add to it's skyline. Dominator is nice, but not enough. But I guess we won't have a good idea here until more supports start showing up.
  4. I miss the level of theming Paramount put into their rides. While not great, it was better than nothing. But TR:TR I thought was Disney-esque theming
  5. I wasn't there, but you could have at least stopped by.
  6. I'm definitely not a Diamondback fan. It's the roughest ride in the park. Just a 1ft taller distraction on the other side of the park.
  7. ha ha, i'm sure the ride ops hate being noted by name on these trip reports.
  8. I would take out SOB's rosebowl, call up gravity group, have it do some mind blowing twists and turns with some nice airtime hills back in the woods, add a tunnel with a launch section, have it do some stuff up to the now defunct midcourse, then go into the loop and finish with the winding down helix and cloverleaf. Then I'd slap 4 brand spankin new Timberliners on there. Oh, and pave the que line with gold.
  9. every rosebowl has its thorn
  10. pictures are expensive though... sorry
  11. It's not THAT bad. You won't walk away with broken bones or bruises. Aside from someone with a back or neck problem (who probably shouldn't ride coasters any), anyone who complains about it being too painful is being a wimp. I'll admit it's not a comfortable ride, but it's well worth it and definitely not the worst coaster on earth. Its not even the worst coaster in the park. Try the front seat of a car toward the middle of the train - that seems to be the smoothest spot. I'm going to have to agree with TB on this one. My friend and I rode SoB for the first (And last) time of the season on Sunday and it was even worse than I remember it being. And my problem isn't even with how painful it is, but rather the fact that if you want it to not be painful, you have to ride in a certain seat. you guys are huge wimps! unless you have a legit medical condition there is no need to complain. grab your Ensure and go back to the home cause it is too bright outside for you guys anyways... unless you have your wrap around sunglasses.
  12. that was with the old trains, i really think that if they kept things moving in the station 3 trains could do well. there is a lot of downtime these days waiting for a train to come back.
  13. hmmm I'd venture to say that if Firehawk is broken down SOB might have the longest line on some days as far as wait time. DB is usually only 45min wait since it is a capacity monster. SOB really needs a 3rd train. It could have a similar block structure to DB. .... so yes, there may very well be 80 rides, shows, and attractions with shorter lines
  14. Son of Beast!!! YAY!!!
  15. lol Sonofbeast07, who knows ki's website is just exaggerating... Sonofbeast07, who is eating french fries right now...
  16. goffy's getting serious
  17. What I mean is that they had no major investment in it. Paramount lost a lot of money over the ride while Cedar Fair kind of came in with a clean slate.
