  1. In my opinion, Flight Deck and Iron Dragon don't even compare. FD is far more intense, and even though its shorter gives a better ride by far. It is definitely one of my favorites. (Be sure to ride in the front seat ;) )

  2. Realistically, I just cant imagine that live entertainment is going to return to the KI and MVRR anytime soon. I believe that even adding a few animatronics would add a lot to the experience. Even if we added a new soundtrack that told the story about the area, I think that would be a positive. Even a few small changes could make a huge difference.

  3. Indiana Beach has the best atmosphere of any park that I have been two. I really enjoy all the coasters, even though they don't pack the biggest punch. They have a great variety of flats, and a lot of good food. I also really enjoy the games Fascination and 21 they have. The park is just great all around in my opinion. Great pictures and trip report by the way!

  4. I can only ride Invertigo once a day because I black out on it. Man those forces are intense. Besides, it's not that great a ride anyway. I would rather ride Adventure Express or Flight Deck any day:)

  5. The very first B & M to have sand in the rails and supports was Alpengeist. Kings Island is not putting sound deadening substances in the rails and supports for Diamondback. I'd be more concerned at the sounds of the cheering riders than the coaster itself, given the reactions of returning riders on Nitro, Goliath, Apollo's Chariot and even, unbelievably, Raging Bull!

Whats wrong with Raging Bull?

  6. But, but, but. Cameras are allowed for non-commercial use, and one must take care to realize that persons who appear in photographs you may take have not necessarily consented to your use of their likeness. Also realize that some parks (and Six Flags Worlds of Adventure was infamous for this) claimed to not allow photography of the rides or riders by anyone not specifically authorized by them to take pictures...or at least they tried to prevent it. They were particularly zealous in enforcing this policy around what was then Superman: Ultimate Escape, for some reason.

    Really, that is weird

  7. ^ A Platinum Pass is definitely a great value if you travel between parks. Having Cedar Point (and particularly, that early ride time!) and Kings Island close by certainly helps.

Relating to Coastermania, getting in free with the PP is cool. I question, however, why they're having the event on a Saturday. I know that this event is more about the ERT, the Q & A and lunch session, etc., but wow, I'd hate to see the crowds that day! I bought a GOCC membership specifically for this event, but I'm probably going to skip out on this event due to it being held on Saturday.

For those of you thinking of going, did the decision to hold it on Saturday encourage or discourage you to go?

In Early June, Cedar Point is really not that crowded, even on a Saturday.

  8. How exactly did the walkback work in '08? I feel so clueless right now.

Card carrying members of accredited enthusiast groups used to be able to meet near the park's entrance and were escorted by a member of the marketing team to the entrance to The Beast to be able to catch the first ride of the day. That of course has changed to accommodate the far more exciting DB early rides.

So The Beast will no longer have a walkback.... or just on selected days?

    200th Post :)
