  1. OK, I stand corrected, as confirmed by a quick jump to CPs website. I for some reason dont recall the OTSRs on MHNF... my bad.
  2. Demon Drop (or the one I was used to riding... Mr Hydes Nasty Fall) bar none. And to answer the question of "whats the difference between it and Drop Tower?", think about the fact that you are WELL secured in Drop Tower and there is nothing but a seatbelt holding you in on a 1st Gen dropper like DD. True, it may be 200-ish feet shorter... but it TRULY feels like a freefall.
  3. OK, for those of you who have ridden it, how does Boss compare to POS.. I mean SOB? Can I ride Boss in any seat I wish (not just 1-1 or 1-2 of the red train) and expect to get off without wanting medical attention? I am hoping so, because the RCDB photos look REALLY cool.
  4. I will have to say that, after reading this, I am definitely beginning to realize that my park days are close to over. Although this is quite unfortunate to me, I simply know how I am, and what type of personality I have, and how things would have gone had it been me in that situation. I am not one who subscribes to the "greater good" B.S philosophyof life, but in this case Im going to have to agree with it. I have had some GREAT experiences this year (First Rider Auction, RWCW) and have met a number of absolutely wonderful people though KIC, but I have enough life experience and common sense when it comes to how Corporate America works to know that this issue is not going to improve, no matter "how important an issue we at KI feel this is" , and have to say this will be my last year of Passholder status and patronage of the parks.
  5. Sorry, but from the standpoint of someone who has driven real race karts... and for "recreational karting" I go to Fastimes Indoor karting in Indy (40+mph karts on a 9 turn track) I find the Thunder Alley karts about as interesting as KI's Dodge-ems. The layout would be fun with something that was actually fast enough to get to hang the tail out.
  6. With the exception of a catastorphic systems failure of the primary safety system, as well as the AT LEAST two redundant safety systems, there is no conceivable chance of ejection from Diamondback. There is absolutely no way the Authorities having Jurisdiction would allow a ride to be opened to the general public that was intentionally designed to put human life at risk... nor would any manufacturer engineer or build such a ride. Now, on the subject of ride-ops attempting to staple you in the ride, I have found a method that stops that from happening, as have a number of others I am sure.
  7. When I watched the vids online, and then was standing in the auction line waiting and watching it test... I was very intimidated by it... just ask indinapolisman LOL. After seeing how quickly it goes up the lift hill, and being rather underwhelmed by the hammerhead, my intimidation was quickly gone and I am now a definite DB Lover. I will have to add however, the last time I rode it Sunday, I was actually feeling that "wow, this is actually a rather tame ride" feeling inside me. I still Love the ride, dont get me wrong, but there just isnt that "kick" there once was.
  8. I went last August on a Wed, and it was a great day! Since I joined one of the nearly 9% of Indiana residents on the unemployed list yesterday, I will be spending more than a few weekdays at the Island for a while. As a quick aside, and Public Service Announcement to the youngins on this site.... PLEASE take the higher education option if it is given to you and think very very seriously about the perils and uncertainties of becoming a Skilled Tradesperson like I am. The money may LOOK good in theory, but the rub is you have to BE working to make that money.
  9. Hey Tom... next time you hold I-man's camera for him... do usa ll a favor and actually LEAVE the deck so the ride-ops can send the train LOL
  10. I think that you should enter the photo taken of DB from the train... that is a REALLY nice photo!
  11. HAHAHAHAHA! In the last pic, the guy in the grey hoodie looks like Beetlejuice at the end of the movie when his head was shrunken!
  12. Actually, I ws thinking more along the lines of the scene in American Grafitti when Curt went to the radio station to make a request to Wolfman Jack. "Aw man, the Wolfman is everywhere man!" And at the time... the young man didnt even know he was in fact talking face to face with the Wolfman
  13. Im in the pic just to the right (visual left) of jackson... and with Angie using my HEAD as a leaning post!!! Heheh, just playin Angie, its all good, had a REALLY nice time with those i spenttime with, and who knows, MAYbe you guys might sometime convince me to get on that monstrosity that is Drop Tower.... just absolutely NOT in 35mph wind gusts. Peace, Scott
  14. it will be quite simple to pick me out this year.... the easiest way of course is to look at my Profile Photo and remember my face. Otherwise, every time I am at KI this year I will be wearing one of 4 things: A)My Tony Stewart 2008 fan Club t shirt (the one I am wearing in my Profile Photo) B.)A black CSI t shirt C)My DB 2009 First Rider shirt D)My University of Northern Iowa grey sweatshirt... it has become my Official KI cool weather shirt.
  15. Ahhhh... customer service (?) at its best. Lets make it as absolutely inconvenient as humanly possible for returning guests to re-enter the park. I get it now, its a mousetrap way to keep in park per-caps up. IM sorry but give me a break, this whole system isthe equivalent to an alarm system on a car. Those who are TRULY intent on circumventing the system, will.
  16. I was there and had a GREAT time! I got there around 720pm, and waited about 15 for them to open DB. I left at rougly 915pm, and in that short time I rode DB 4 times, and BLSC twice. I only went to process my Gold Pass considering it was raining when I got there, but I am really glad I decided to take a chance and drop in.
  17. I will definitely be there, along with my Wife and a good Friend from Bloomington. I am ALL for hooking up in a similar group to what we had off and on throughout the day giga... what a GREAT time that was.
  18. I enjoyed reading this report jesse, and seeing the pics brought a great day back. I definitely enjoyed spending the good part of the day with you and the others I spent it with... and we will all DEFINITELY have to hook up at RWW... details coming soon!!
  19. Ive got to throw in a HUGE thank you to your Wife as well here Bro... both of you and your selfless actions gave me a once in a lifetime chance to experience the special Festivities of the morning. This day just KILLED any other day I have ever had at KI, and that would stand true even if the DB ride had not happened. I truly enjoyed the company of the little group we got together with, and I would consider it an honor and true pleasure to spend many more days at the park with any of you. I will make very sure to post up from now on when I am going to be at the park, and if our trips co-incide lets make it a point to hook up either before going to the park for breakfast or something, or in the park! Anyone here who would like my email addy or cellie, PM me and I will gladly give it up. Scott Oh yeah... how ya gonna use a Cooper with a donut on it for a display vehicle??
  20. Indianapolisman and I heard a CLASSIC in the smoking area in Coney Mall. We were talking to an obvious SFKK fan, and he let us in on some very hot, top secret info!! It seems his Friend who works there (obviously the Dippin Dots guy) showed him the blueprints for some very hot expansion plans at KK over the next wo years. Not only did SFKK buy the rights to Diamondback from B&M with plans to open an exact replica, but are also in the process of bringing back a few other rides (the names of which escape me at the moment) and by 2011 SFKK will be twice the size of KI!!
  21. Hey bro, wanna talk about tired.... indinapolisman and I got there at 554am and left at 1045pm, and I got home around 120am!!!
  22. Myself and indianapolisman were in that group as well, in seats 1-3 (indianapolisman) and 1-4 (ME)... and yes please thank T. Mom very much for holding our giftbags and taking photos of us all on Beast and Racer!
  23. Indianapolisman and I were there together from 6am until 1030pm... and WOULD have been in the DB photo with everyone else had they waited for us like Avatar said were going to... but NOOOOOO LOL... just kidding guys, its all good. We were with Avatar, Jackson, violakat, Angie(giga), and Brian(adventure2007) after our DB Auction ride until around 11am. We then ran into various people throughout the day, and eventually, after our second DB ride, hooked up with the rest ofthe group oin the pic for a night beast ride and a finishing touch of a night DB ride before leaving around 1030. I told Sean (indianapolisman) on the way home that, even without DB, this was absolutely the BEST time I have ever had at KI. I truly enjoyed meeting and enjoying the park with the group of individuals I was with! Oh btw Angie.... did ya lose or break any sunglasses this time or is that just a CP thing?? LOL
  24. I am VERY glad they took care of it, as I am the extremely lucky recipient of Seans generosity in offering me his extra seat ..... Lovin this!!! See ya all at 6am
