  1. If I can fit into Diamondback and I barely get into Banshee should I be good on mystic timbers?
  2. BLSC belonged in Action Zone. That was where they made their mistake. It's not a horrible ride, per say, it just is in an awkward spot and has theming that is falling apart or not even functioning.
  3. Question for people who have ridden in these coaster trains.... How are they for people who might have a little extra meat on their bones? Compared to the trains on Racer/Beast?
  4. You may not post a lot anymore Shaggy, but when you do it was well worth the wait. Thanks for sharing all those amazing memories!
  5. My opinion: TR:TR was the best thing Paramount ever did.
  6. It's supposed to take up the space that the former funnel cake stand took.
  7. They could be saying it will be a different experience as an allusion to how the new coaster will interact with it (assuming part of the new coaster layout will cross over/under the train tracks.) They are throwing out the hints for sure. Lots of people thinking a return of Winterfest. I don't know about that with the unpredictable Winter weather in Ohio. I'm hoping it's the Christmas In July announcement of something big. Winter weather in Ohio has ALWAYS been "unpredictable", even back when they had Winterfest in the 80s. I remember hearing in a documentary that the unpredictable weather was the main reason they got rid of winterfest in the first place. They did bring it back in 2005, but it only lasted one season. I don't know if I can see them doing it again, but the announcement for the 2005 winterfest was in late July so who knows? Here is the teaser trailer: The park has plans for a Christmas in July event. I'm not sure if they're really planning on announcing anything, but I do know there are plans for Santa to be there. Most of the associates know that something is happening for Christmas in July. I'm just not sure if the park is officially announcing it. From what I've heard they're using KI as the test site for Carowinds and Great America's 2017 Winter event.
  8. I visit Disney many times a year and can tell you this..... At every large body of water, whether its Seven Seas Lagoon or the small ponds/lakes at other resorts, there are posted signs along the waterfront. They do not particularly warn about wildlife, but they do say "Absolutely no swimming or wading in water". They are on large wooden posts in the actual water. (I will look through my photos to see if I happened to catch on of these in the background) I have seen them almost every visit. Now I can also tell you that Disney/Florida Wildlife does regularly catch Alligators and release them in a specified zone about 5-10 miles away from the park, but they have to meet certain lengths and widths. I believe if they are under 4 feet they stay put. Not trying to direct blame here at all, but there's not much more Disney could have done...
  9. I don't really post here that often, but I am today. I just want to say that we are all here for the same reason. We all share a passion and love for Kings Island. Whether it's been a passion for 5 years or 50 it's what we all have in common. I bring this up, because these arguments on here are getting really petty. We all have our own opinion of everything not just Project 2017. Just because your opinion varies from someone else doesn't mean you or they are wrong. With everything going on in the world it is really dumb to be fighting over something as petty as it a woodie or a hyper, or is it going to be facing North. At this point if you don't have something productive to comment on then just leave your hate and anger on the other side of the keyboard.
  10. Wait, so the inexplicable rectangular building between the exit path of The Racer and the silly basketball game used to be the queue for the Tumble Bug? Huh. The more you know. Somebody should compile a comprehensive list of all the remnants from past attractions. I'd do it, but I haven't the experience necessary. And so, I've decided that we should give it a shot and see what we can come up with. And hey, since KI is still open for a few weekends, we could even get photos! I'll start the list with every remnant that I know of: 1. Son of Beast's station still stands, and is used for the Wolf Pack maze during Halloween Haunt 2. Crypt's building still stands and is used for the Cavern of Terror maze during Halloween Haunt. Additionally, the Durga sculpture still adorns the wall, and The Bat demon thing still Haunts the antechamber. 3. Until very recently, there were a few footers from King Cobra standing near Adventure Express's queue. I believe those were removed a couple months ago. 4. Flight Commander's queue still stands, and can be seen behind the sports games booths in Coney Mall 5. According to the quoted post, Tumble Bug's queue has been converted into a storage facility for games prizes. No verification on this other than that post, however. 6. Bat's Station and queue are used for Vortex 7. The cars from Thunder Alley can be seen next to the maintenance path near Firehawk. They are very visible from the lift hill. 8. The souvenir photo booth from Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal can be seen as you are walking out the exit from Cavern of Terror. 9. Some chains from a previous coaster (presumably King Cobra) are present in Flight of Fear's building. 10. Don't quote me on this, but I BELIEVE that at least one of the old cars from Flight of Fear (with OTSRs) is being stored inside Flight of Fear's building. Feel free to add to the list, or correct me if I'm wrong. I'll try to keep up with this and edit it as information arises, but I can't make any promises That photo booth is actually from TR:TR. There was a ride photo for the first two or three seasons I believe. Back when I worked there we used the building for merch storage, but that was back in 2008.
  11. I usually go to McDonalds before had and get a Coke and add some "extras to it and just drink it on my way to the main gate.
  12. Season pass renewals were indeed 69.99 last fall. That's when I renewed mine. I figured prices would go up a little, but I'm kinda surprised that there is no renewal discount.
  13. I'm personally looking forward to this. I hate carrying stuff in the park. I have had my wallet fall out of my pocket 2 or 3 times from getting up and down. I wish that your pass could be on the wristband as well. I would love not having to take a single thing into the park except for a bracelet that has "cash" on it and my gold pass.
  14. This video was just posted a few weeks ago. I know some of you may be like "we've seen photos of SFNO before", but not like this.... These photos are from 2005, right after the flood waters receded enough to for Six employees to come and evaluate the park. I hope you all enjoy!
  15. I have Verizon and like what Boddah said I have never had a problem with cell service inside the park unless it was a busy day until this year. In fact I even called Verizon and told them how my phone doesnt work when I'm in the vicintity of the park. Verizon stated that I was not the first to call and complain and in fact they sent techs out to research the problem because Verizon (as of two years ago) just put a new LTE tower right by 71(by the BP station). The person I spoke with there said that it is actually KI's radio and communication systems that are interfering with the cell tower signals. So long story short....for some reason the short wave radio system KI uses messes with cell signals sometimes.
  16. So I've been thinking about this for awhile now. Mr. Hart has been building up this $7 million dollar coaster, which most of us know that $7 million won't buy a big steel coaster, but what if its a used coaster. I read somewhere a while back that FPI US LLC who owns Freestyle Music Park (formally Hard Rock Park) were discussing on liquidating the parks rides and attractions. So does anyone else think that maybe Hart struck a deal to purchase one of their coasters? Or are there any other steel coasters out there that are SBNO and still in a good salvageable condition? Just a thought......
  17. Oh - I forgot - in addition to this one extra dino, there will be a concession stand installed along the path 'cos you gotta eat! I know your just joking about the concession stand, but it got me thinking......... It would be kinda neat if KI built a sit down restaurant back there and themed it along the lines of dinos and/or jungle theme.
  18. I would like to get my hands on enough wood to build a small coffee table. SOB was one of my favorite coasters. I just want it for the memories. Plus it would be a neat conversation starter. I do agree with you that whoever just buys one piece of wood will probably get rid of or just forget about it. That's why I'd like to build something with it. I could be wrong on this, but I'm not sure you want a coffee table made out of pressure treated wood. As long as it wasn't treated with Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA). If it is, I guess it will be an outdoor table.

  20. I just don't get why a second motor wasn't installed for emergencies. One that could only lower the gondola, rather than hand cranking it. I believe the software needs reviewed and possibly tweaked on and also the evacuation timing.
  21. For all of those that are wanting a piece of SoB. Watch this video and pay close attention to the end. http://www.wlwt.com/...wz/-/index.html Sounds like KI might (keyword on might) be selling some mementos.
  22. So I passed the beach today and they are repainting a few (if not all) the waterslides. From what I saw one is getting painted orange and another is purple.
  23. Yes it is still there. It is on the path into Oktoberfest right before Festhaus.
