  1. I missed that because I was reading King Cobra's response and when I had the window open for my post above Tiggy's and then when I posted my response it was on the next page. Thanks for bringing that one to my attention. I might have missed it otherwise.
  2. That it is. That part is a bit confusing.
  3. Mr. Helbig? Huh? Did I miss something. Cool pictures none the less.
  4. That is terrific. *hopes that opening day is one such day* Thanks Tiggy.
  5. Just a curious thought but unless I am horribly mistaken I thought I made a post here about if there would be a webcam broadcast of the party because someone mentioned it. Perhaps it was in a different topic... but I was sure I posted it here. My mistake if it was.
  6. I wonder if The Beast will be included on the ERT. Since it's so close to Diamondback. Also it being the 30th year anniversary. Just a hunch though. I know it's been said but we can certainly hope! = )
  7. I found out that it will be bidders who can afford a shiny nickle indeed. As far as I have been able to tell, there will be companies whom will bid, thus raising more money for charity. I'm okay with this fact too. I don't think the auction will be public. I don't care if I don't get the first ride as long as I get to ride! I think it's going to be a lot of fun no matter.
  8. Is this event going to be on a webcam? I wanna see. I can't come to the party (no ticket and I can't make it anyhow) I would love to see everyone getting hyped.
  9. The one for Six Flags New Orleans, I have a question... where the hell will they put it? .... better not be where I think it is or I won't go near it. And that would be a horrible thing for them to do. EDIT: OMG it is... it looks like it is right in the middle of where a lot of destruction was. I saw satellite pictures. Shameless. **** six flags. I'm boycotting their sorry asses now. That really ticks me off man.
  10. Ahem, I think it is the FIRST LIM launched Coaster! Beast 1979 is correct actually. It was the very first. I rode it the day it opened. I love that ride too. And I second, third, etc. whatever... everyone else is saying in regards to having fun! Do that too! = )
  11. If I'm understanding this accurately - being a Platinum Pass Holder will get you in early every day for the ERT so belonging to a club becomes a moot point for most KI enthusiasts (please correct me if I'm wrong). I joined Coaster Buzz last year, mainly selfishly for Boo Buzz which gave us an ERT hour on Maverick (I got 9 rides within an hour - my daughter got 11), however it's an affordable club and the membership appears to work for things like this, Coastermania and benefits like at Holiday World. I saw that Coaster Fanatics also has a club you can join. Someone official will need to judge on what counts for KI or not. Perhaps for some people, but actually it's not a moot point for me at least. Since I am touring many different places all over the US to ride coasters between this year and next year. (I wish I hadn't missed so many at Cedar Point...) At any rate, Kings Island is my home park and I enjoyed the coasters at Cedar Point as well. So I figured the Great Ohio Coaster Club was appropriate since I'm such a fan of KI. And yes, I too want the ERT time for opening day. I don't care about the rest of the year... I won't be up early enough every time for it to make a difference. However, it would be nice to meet some other people whom are into coasters. There isn't really a group in my area that I know of... so Ohio is the closest.
  12. He did say it was. Well you could probably ride most if not all the coasters depending if you come on a slow day or not. Or I recommend that you try to spend a couple days if your going to drive that far anyways. (Also if you come in the summer the water park isn't half bad) Diamondback and Firehawk should be included for sure. But don't forget the classics. You must ride The Beast at least once (especially good at night) and The Vortex. And most of the people will say the same things I did I'm sure. We all have our favorites but these four rides are essential. I would say ride SoB but I am doubtful about how safe it is even with the modifications. I was beaten so badly the last time (without the loop) that I thought I was going to have a broken bone or something. It was extremely painful. It's a heck of a ride though. I wish I remember what car/seat I was in and I would say just avoid that. The back is usually a bad place to get beat up, same with The Beast. Honestly I like riding The Beast in the front so I can get a nice view. So much that I could say but I must be off to work soon. Hope you enjoy your visit to our home park! (well most of us anyhow)
  13. You might be a KI addict if you plan out your next trip before you go, so well that you have it memorized.
  14. That was Top Gun if I remember correctly. Flight Commander had a "flaw" in the design... more or less that's the case.
  15. Guilty. Very guilty. You might be a PKI addict if you scour the internet for 5 hours looking for videos capturing the Bavarian Beetle only to become aware that it has been posted many times... on You Tube. Just not as the name Bavarian Beetle.
  16. What??? What is this? Please explain! Infrared detectors? huh?
  17. Is there an auction? What charity does it go to? How can I bid? This is a good question... but I'm confused about what's going on with that aspect. Depending on the charity I might be up for it.
  18. Really...? That's cool. Isn't Wings itself (like the TV show) a Paramount name? I wasn't sure.
  19. You know that makes the most sense of anything anyone has EVER said here Terp. Thanks. I think it is like this. We are a community, perhaps even some of us one day might want to have a role in things at KI. But at any rate, I have noticed this... We all have our good days and bad days. Sometimes we all get peeved about things. There are disagreements but also resolutions. It's just like a company, only the people on this site are here for the love of it. I'm sure the KI staff and CF get pleasure out of helping people too. But you know as they say business before pleasure. With us it is simply pleasure because we aren't in it. It could vary greatly what the future may hold but for now, we remain the staple of what Kings Island is about. Having fun and being together. So then I think it is good that we don't always agree... it's good that we have some difficulties and have to come to understandings and middle ground. Heck, that makes us more human, we grow through it. I'm just so glad that even when things get heated, everyone does their best to remain a community. Thank you to all of you. Especially in the face of adversity and I respect that very deeply and sincerely. Happy Birthday to my favorite roller coaster in the US! I LOVE YOU! Nothing will ever waiver my heart from the passion I feel every time I ride it. And a good friend of mine whom had her friend pass away always asked me to do one thing. Ride it for Robby once each time I go. We screamed out his name in the helixes and drops. He apparently loved that ride and for me... that a ride of all things could make someone's life a little brighter... that is something important that we are doing. Even though I didn't know him. I respect her wishes and in her absence scream it out on my first ride. I guess I'm just weird. I would love one day to either work in or even operate a theme park. But I have come to see it's no small potatoes. I'm sure things in the CEOs offices get crazy, the park operators, everyone works really hard to maintain their post. But even with the differences in these different things, there are no small parts. Thanks to anyone who has ever worked at Kings Island, works there now or will work there. Keep your heads held up and strive to make things better for all the parts of the whole. That is stability. I know, I have the ethics of some east Asian... but I like to keep it old school. It's what has kept me coming back for years. Sorry... I went on a tangent there. I LOVE The Beast! WOOO HOOO! Get CRAZY! = P
  20. Oh no! That would suck. You would totally die. I love SoB for the monster it is, but even after they took out the loop I noticed that it banged me up way worse than usual. I'll be surprised if I ever ride it again. Seems much tougher now that is has some age. And without the loop it's no where near it's former glory. Though I did ride it last year to try without the loop. Sad really. But without restraints? I would rather play Russian roulette, at least you die quickly like that. lol = D
  21. opps... obviously I was excited about this topic. Sorry for double posting.
  22. I thought so too, only to find that indeed their license hadn't expired yet. I'm not sure what they are going to do when they have all this themed stuff in the Nick area and can't use it anymore. It would be a shame, perhaps even a waste if they didn't do something about it. Or one even better, if they bring back Hanna Barbera characters and themes. Which Scooby is, and don't they even still have some of the older Hanna Barbera characters running about from time to time. I guess not now that it says Scooby Doo and nick characters. Nick is owned by Viacom, so they made a different deal I guess. Weird though cause Paramount is too. I'm sure it be expensive to keep that license up though. Probably more so than Nick. Just a guess though, that's a bit of a stretch.
  23. Yea, but the posted rules clarify that. If you leave line to buy food or drink, other people don't have to wait. Though that was nice of you and I must say I would let someone back if I could obviously tell who they were with and they weren't trying to walk across half the people in front of me. The worst problem I had with it was at Universal Studios Hollywood. I embrace diverse cultures and have no problem with people from different ethnic backgrounds... in fact most people were polite and friendly but there were quite a few people ... whom acted like they didn't understand the concept of a line. This guy and his friend got in front of me and I said "excuse you, you can't get in front of me." and he moved out of my way. It's really bad at Universal Hollywood. At least it was in the fall toward the end of the season. It was still warm of course.
