Cincinnati`s 10 lowest paying jobs
Captain Picard replied to CoastersRZ's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I remember making 3.25 hr and thinking the ones making 10 had it made. -
I have heard that getting a shock from a defibrillator is very painful. I wouldn't think you would want to risk having it happen on a ride.
-
I heard that they buy them coasters with Euros so you have to figure that in too. Back in 1999 the US Dollar and Euro was nothing like it is today if I remember correctly.

Spending $25 million in 2013 may not get you what it did in 1999.

Cedar Fair to Launch Crave
Captain Picard replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I tried some this stuff and I don't like it. I don't think it will be sweet enough for the people that crave such things. -
Georgia Cyclone Is Testing
Captain Picard replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
After I had a ride on it last season I can say it was needed. -
That's like having a new Mustang with a dent in it. It still drives ok so it would be kinda pointless to waste the money fixing it. I guess you would probably be riding around with that dent feeling proud of it.

They have been making changes to The Beast over the years. I remember a last day meet up where we was told that they was testing new ideas on The Beast to later use on SoB. Years later it was clear by the state accident report that they must have over looked a thing or two. This made it seem that the original contractor knew what they was talking about when they said it was over their heads to do on their own.

I was on it a lot in the early years then it got so bad that we couldn't ride it and still don't want to ride it. I was in line for SoB the day Top Gun hit a maintenance truck. I experienced how the park tried to hide it.

SoB seems to be a tender spot that everyone likes to poke.

somebody will surely correct me if i'm wrong, but the crypt, then tomb raider the ride, was fully constructed inside warehouse style building it's located in. i'm pretty sure i read that it was done to both protect the ride from the elements it wasn't designed to run in and to help keep the ride more secretive. you were closer the second time, it's actually soarin' I wouldn't be surprised if the ride is still in there when the new attraction opens. They could use the seating or you will walk over it to get to the exit. After thinking about it you will probably exit out the side before you get to the ride.
-
I was surprised that a decision was made.

It's been haunting KI as long as it's been there.

I wonder if they bought rides made in the USA if they would have a little better luck with these things. I know dealing in Autos out of state is a pain when you have to bring law into it. I would guess dealing with rides that came from another country would cause some problems in the law area.

SIX: $40 SEASON EATING Pass?
Captain Picard replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It would probably be for one place in the park with line all the way around the park to get in it. I did a employee night at Seaworld with free food and the lines was so long the park would have closed before you got to the food. -
I never have seen the full story posted on what happened to the RWW event. I think all the other parks still had their events. I had heard somethings but never see it on here.

The only pay ride I can remember doing is G Force at Old Town. I just don't do them and I still remember how painful it was paying for that 3 or 4 seconds.

A steel coaster would be sold as scrap and a wood one would be left standing like SoB. Like when they took out the loop it was the only part of SoB that had value.
