  1. After all, "Coney Has it." The Rock O Planes can give quite an intense ride experience if you get the cars spinning (or if you kindly ask the ride ops to give you a spin before starting the ride).

Yeah definitely. I remember that one time I rode it when it was still fairly new, and you were running it. I kept my car locked upside down for the entire duration of the unload - and I was near the top when the unload started. Such a great ride.

Tomb Raider tries to accomplish the same effect as the Rock-O-Plane - but it's too big and slow and just ends up confusing people.

  2. Comparing Splashin' Safari to Boomerang Bay is like comparing a Cadillac to a Big Wheels. Splashin' Safari is an incredible water park, and Boomerang Bay is a collection of mildly entertaining water based attractions. Not to mention that Holiday World also has 3 amazing wooden roller coasters, free drinks, free sunscreen, friendly staff and low admission price.

Bahari is such a fun wave pool. It isn't just another wave pool - its like being in the ocean during a storm or something. Jungle Racer is so much fun. It's hard to not ride it several times in a row. Zoombabwe is probably the most fun I have ever had on a water attraction. It is so long and disorienting. Their Zinga is better than our Tazmanian Typhoon by a lot. Otorongo beats the heck out of the Sidney Sidewinder. I've never even been on Bakuli but it looks great. And the water coaster they are getting next year is going to be a whole new level of awesome that nobody has ever experienced.

  3. Awesome trip report. And you're right - the Rock-o-Plane at Coney Island can go upside down much more than The Crypt - and is overall a more fun and much more exhilarating attraction. You should have gone there.

  4. It didn't occur to me till now but it looks like admission is actually cheaper for this event than it is to go on a normal season day.

Regardless of the price its such a nice time to go. There aren't many if any kids, and the crowd (everyone that I saw anyway) is very well behaved. The park just has this atmosphere that everyone is there to have a great time. Very fun atmosphere to be riding coasters in. Very different than an average day at the park.

  5. If this is in any way about me I would like to apologize. I don't mean to come across like a troll or internet bully or anything with my smart alec remarks or satirical photoshops. Just my way of making my point. I guess some people are offended by people who have different opinions than they do - or ideas that go against the Kings Island Fan's canon.

For the most part I like the park. There's just some things I don't like - such as Son of Beast. So I am sorry if this offends anyone - I will try to be more sensitive to the fact that some people just happen to be masochistic.

  6. Dodgems are a great ride that often gets overlooked. I never noticed a change in their speed but I haven't been in a while. I know sometimes some of the cars get messed up or something and go ridiculously slow.

These are the kind of posts that get threads deleted. If you dislike SoB, great. If you don't, that's awesome. People don't have to keep saying it over and over and over and over and over!!!!!! STOP AND LETS HAVE A REAL CONVERSATION ABOUT A GREAT COASTER!!!!

Was a joke. "TAER IT DOWN" has been going on since before I discovered the KI forums back in 2004. I just thought it was too hilarious a photoshop to not do.

I used to love the ride, but in all seriousness it has become significantly more rough since they "fixed it". I rode it 2 or 3 days before the big ordeal back in 2006 or whenever it was when all those people got injured - and it was running fine. I haven't had a good ride on it since.

I'm sure they will get it back up and running though. The ODA isn't going to sign off on a ride and have it reopen the next day.

  8. It isn't that hard to do. I can make make the cage flip over and over and over again. I got it to flip so I was upside down and stayed that way for several seconds as it was lowering at the end. It is all about both people timing the leg kicking.

In my opinion getting the monster pods to spin while the ride is stationary is more difficult - and I can do that too. The guy known as Alien Seed on these forums taught me that trick.

  9. If you can fit on Delirium then the only ride I would think would be questionable is Drop Zone. It depends on how close of a fit you are. Drop Zone has the smallest restraints.

The most forgiving seats on Flight of Fear is in the back row of a car (any car), on the side of the driver side of the train.
