  1. Between the two I like Holiday World more. If I was like Paul Drabek, and lived in Santa Claus Indiana, I don't know which I would like better - but I think I would still prefer Holiday World.

I love the atmosphere there. I don't know exactly what it is, but it seems friendly and fun. And the park has some amazing rides and water park attractions. The food is good and reasonably priced; the drinks are free; and the staff is (in most cases) really friendly. I think I could have fun there without riding a single thing.

  2. I was there for several hours on Saturday. It was pretty crowded.

Friday night was dead though. The longest line I waited in was Firehawk (for my first ever ride on it). I walked up to a queue gate as the train was pulling into the station. Every other ride had shorter wait times. I rode 7 coasters in about an hour.

  3. The ride operators, and supervisor/manager not only allowed it - but in the photo you can see a ride operator actually buckling it in.

And tigellinus you may have seen an oversized stuffed animal riding Vortex in late 2005. It was late at night, and I was driving at the time. I could not see the last couple cars. I got the thumbs up from load and unload, and dispatched the train. As it was rolling out of the station, I was counting empty seats - and in the very last row a man was riding next to an oversized Homer Simpson plush.

I still have a wallet sized on ride photo of it somewhere. I saw it a few days ago but I can't find it. If it turns up I will scan it and post it here.

  4. I used to get the same thing. You eventually get immune to it. Racer backward used to get some good "drop out" feeling on the drop - but Racer forward doesn't really have it. Top Gun or whatever they call it these days has a good dose especially if you ride in the back. If he can handle Top Gun then Beast should be alright. If you aren't sure - riding in the front seat will minimize the dropping feeling. And believe it or not Son of Beast does nothing on the first drop. It is basically just speeding up real fast. You don't get that dropping sensation.

Vortex in the very front of the train is not an intense drop. But the back seat will put the fear of God into you. So I would really recommend riding Vortex in the very front seat. By the time the train builds up enough speed for you to start plummeting, the front seat is almost at the bottom of the drop. I had to ride Vortex exclusively in the front two cars for a really long time before I moved my way to the middle, and eventually the back.

Invertigo in the middle of the train is pretty easy on you if drops scare you. And Adventure Express anywhere is good. Delirium is an intense ride, but you don't get a dropping feeling at all. It is like a huge swingset.

Drop Zone is the worst ride for the plummeting feeling in your stomach. I can still feel it for like an hour after I ride.

  5. This track is definitely not a Flyer or Invert. Look at which side of the track the rails are on as it bends. Also the track is not large enough to be a dive machine.

And, as I said before, pieces of track with labels identifying the customer as "Worlds of Fun" appeared in the lot before they had done anything more than the most basic land modifications at the park - even less progressed than Kings Island is now. I do not think it is too early for Kings Island track to show up at the plant.

  6. I wonder if people at the Clermont Steel Plant are told what/where the track is for.

Yes they do. Here is a picture I found online of the track for Patriot. Blow it up and check out the label.

I would think its VERY unlikely that the track is not made this far in advanced. I'm not going to speculate where the track is going, however the last time I heard, it take roughly 18 months from conception to opening.

Yes it is. Track destined for "World's of Fun" was sitting in the front lot, and preparations at the park were pretty much where Kings Island is now. Some land modification, some new footers - but not enough to say for sure they were getting a coaster.

  7. They couldn't have been the same pictures, because I actually took these myself. Very possible that other people have taken pictures of it though, because as I said it is clearly visible to thousands of people every day.

Also Manta is supposed to be a Flyer, and this is not flyer track.

  8. Hopefully it won't disappear. I put it in the rumors forum. And the track is clearly visible to anyone driving down old 32 behind the old Ford plant, where all the B&Ms are made. Alot of the screamscape rumors say B&M hyper around 225 feet tall, and here's some red B&M track for you. Seems they usually do 4 or 5 a year so who knows.

  9. That's definitely not a flyer. The piece is there that goes at the very top of the lift hill. The chain runs on top of the track for sure. I couldn't tell if it's just a real steep B&M sit down, or a dive machine. The size of the spine doesn't seem big enough to be a dive machine. I remember seeing SheiKra's track and it was enormous.

Look at the second photo real close. If you blow it up, right in front of that gray door is the piece I'm talking about.
