  1. OOOOOOHHHH! He was in the rides office! I misread that! Maybe they are going to buy a ride from PKI or sell one to PKI (hopefully). Or possibly, they were just trying to get some tips for their new ride next year. I can't remember if its an Intamin Gyro Swing or a Huss Giant Frisbee. But either way, its a ride PKI has a lot of experience with!
  2. The stories behind Delirium and Psyclone, interestingly enough, are the same. You are in a tornado, and are being thrown around in every direction.
  3. Yeah, I just thought of that. If CF owned PKI, we would probably get some good roller coasters. There really aren't a lot of movies that you can build really big and fast roller coasters to by Paramount. And CF doesn't limit itself to movies. Also, things might take a turn for the worse since Viacom switched control of Paramount Parks from Paramount to Nickelodeon. I don't know if its going to become Nickelodeon Kings Island or what. So did CF straighten out its Geauga Lake deal, or do the people between Toledo and Cleveland still need to buy two seasons passes? Consider this though. Cedar Point always gets the best awards for its awesome rides and everything. But if they bought PKI, what reason would they have to put awesome rides at PKI? Cedar Point will always be Cedar Fairs flagship park. If there is a record to be broken by the Cedar Fair company, it will be broken at Cedar Point. Which means that PKI would always be limited to being in Cedar Point's shadow. We would get some alright rides I'm sure, like how KBF got Xcelerator. But we wouldn't get any record breaking coasters. I'm not sure, but I think the only record KBF has is the biggest log flume ride in the world. CP had the first @ 200', the first @ 300', and the first @ 400'. They also have the most coasters.
  4. It would suck if Cedar Fair bought PKI. PKI runs its parks better. Besides, if you look at what happened when CF bought SFOH, they gave all the passholders new passes, but made it so Geauga Lake (what they renamed it) passholders cant get into any other Cedar Fair Parks besides Knotts Berry Farm. They also can't get into any six flags parks. If they bought PKI, it would probably be the same thing. We would no longer be able to get into any other Paramount Park, but our passes also would not be able to get us into Cedar Point. I don't think they would shut down PKI. If they were in the business of buying the competition, and shutting it down, GL would have closed already. But I do think the park will be better under Paramount.
  5. I was the big guy with the PKIC group wearing a blue shirt, black shorts and the PKIC "Save the Flyers" button.
  6. Are those bound copies of the Flyer Tribute book going to be available for sale anytime soon? I would really like one.
  7. I don't know who that was with the Flyers sweatshirt on. They walked by the group after we got off SOB, and one of them told me that it was a little late to be wearing a "Save the Flyers" button. I said "You're wearing a Flyers shirt!", to which he replied, "Yeah, but I'm in THE CLUB". Don't know what that meant, but Ryan gave them his last Save the Flyers button. It may be late, but I'm keeping mine!
  8. Its not really a question, and I don't work at PKI, but I was riding SOB yesterday, and there was a young couple sitting behind me, and at the top the girl said, in a really nervous tone of voice, "Oh boy, this is a big roller coaster! I thought it was a small one! I'm not sure I can do this!"
  9. I saw you! I was talking to Jeff, and he said "Ooh, there's DeliriumDreamer!" Then he walked over and talked to you for a minute. Thats when Dane and Bill bought their ticket for Slingshot I think. We were on our way to The Racer!
  10. Actually, Adventure Express' story is that you are taking "the Express to Outpost 5". The bridge is out, and the Henry Expedition that went to Outpost 5 is 21 days overdue. Your mission is to get to Outpost 5. Once, on the Eiffel Tower, I noticed that the station for SOB says, you guessed it, Outpost 5! So I assume that Adventure Express is the express ride to the Son of Beast containment compound, and you have to make it without being caught by the Son of Beast. The theme of SOB itself is that you are on the Perimeter Surveillence Vehicle, looking for the Son of Beast, which is on the loose (note the big broken crate by the entrance) without being caught by it! Top Gun's theme is about a ****y type-cast pilot and his goofy copilot (Maverick and Goose) in the Navy's Elite Pilot Training Program, learning how to be Aces with the F-14. He is doing a simulated dogfight with his instructors, Viper and Jester. Edit: the ****y is another word for overconfident. I didn't think it was a curse word, but sorry!
  11. Riding Wild Thorberries in Novermber was kind of dumb. But it was fun, and hilarious. I am still cold, and my legs are just now getting the feeling back in them! Adam
  12. Yeah, I can understand why FoF restraint checking is commando crawling. You sit really low in the train. I mean, sure its kind of scary that you do an inversion with just a lap bar, but its no big deal - when you get into the car, even a tall person, your head is well inside the car. Then the lap bar is several inches below the level of the station platform. So you would have to almost crawl like one of those snipers in a gillie to check the restraints. I think Face/Off would be easy, like Rugrats, because the seats are level with the ride op. Even Vortex and Racer and them have their restraints low, though they are no where as bad as FoF!
  13. This topic should have been closed before the first reply was made! But since we are asking questions we know the answers to, here's a couple more. What does PKIU stand for? How do you spell Bolliger & Mabillard? Why does Cedar Point have more roller coasters than Stricker's Grove? Why isn't thecopyczar a mod?
  14. How many gallons are in the splash pool at the bottom of Down Under Thunder?
  15. A Phoenix rises from its own ashes. I have seen a bird sink from dying. It was in an open pit copper mine in Montana. A bird landed in the water that had filled up the pit, and after a minute, sank. Moral: dont drink tap water in Butte Montana! Maybe the REAL BEAST is at the bottom of the pond!
  16. Stella does have humor! And I am sure everyone knew that was a joke. I saw right from the beginning it was a joke. I was going to post something sarcastic, but I thought about the golden rule, and if I attacked zoomzoom for his post, I would justify all the times he has attacked mine. But its obvious he just started this topic, and all those others, because The New Administration said no topics would be closed, and everybody could ask a question and not be made fun of. So I am not going to make fun!
  17. Yeah, the way those history pics are listed under contributor is confusing. I think it would be cool to have them listed just like the current rides are, and to click on them and view the pictures.
  18. Thats what I'm saying! EPKI is awesome! But now that PKIC bought PKIU, maybe Ill start to like PKIU as much as I like the other two. The only reason I post the most on PKIU was that it was the first one I discovered. But EPKI for the time being is my favorite. Keep an eye out for the K files!
  19. That is exactly one decade from now! Im making the point that we will get another coaster in the next ten years. I am sure that Vortex will come down sometime in the next 10 years (or be retracked) and same with top gun. And like I said, they aren't going to replace Vortex with a ferris wheel. Not just because Vortex is cool, but businesswise, it would be a dumb decision.
  20. I wonder if they are going to merget the sites. Like I said on PKIC, it would make a great deal of sense, especially if invisionpowerboard would let you merge forums. But I don't think they are going to shut one down. Personally, I think the content on PKIC is WAY better, but I like the interface of PKIU better. Although neither of them are my favorite! That honor goes to the third main PKI fansite... *cough*epki*cough*
  21. I think its a good idea. I would like to see some of the old rides, like Zodiac and Demon and Bayern Curve that came before my time. Ive looked them up on google, but its kind of a pain in the butt, and the pictures are like 150X200 pixels in size, so you cant really tell what it is. So I say, a old ride section would be great! Be sure and include the Flyers!
