  1. Somebody call the Waaaaahmbulance! Haha! Thats hilarious. How did you get that instead of PKIU Lurker or PKIU Mod Squad or whatever? And whats with the spatula? Oh well. Well anyway, I noticed that too, on Labor Day; the 6th of September I think. Its like somebody went in with a crow bar, and pulled up a foot or two of track and called it a day! No, but I do know they tore out the queue already, and that the cars themselves were behind the Skeeball arcade, as other people have posted on here already. I'm anxious to see what is done by fearfest! I know there wont be any track or anything, but I wonder if construction on the parking garage or aqueduct will have commenced. And I wonder if we will be getting a new park map next year, or if they will just update the one we have already by drawing a totally inaccurate and goofy sketch of IJST in where the Tiques used to be.
  2. Are they going to get rid of the Sprite Obey the Net basketball game or the Roadside Cafe to make room for the Italian Job? Yeah, it makes sense that they would move fliers over by the laser tag - especially if they are installing conduits. Will The Vortex Crew take over the Fliers or will The Beast crew still run it?
  3. Thanks! The way a friend of mine described it, I thought it was in that pond infront of RT Larosas. He said it was over water, and that some kid fell out cause he wasnt wearing his seatbelt, and he hit the water and died, but the water was electrified cause of bad wiring, and a ride op jumped in to save the kid, and was electrocuted to death. Sounds like BS but thats what he told me, so I figured the only place it could be was in that pond, but that seemed like an awful stupid place for a ride so I didnt really believe him anyway.
  4. Where did the flight commander used to be?
  5. I heard somewhere that in the early morning they have to launch it several times cause the track is cold or something, and the first few times it doesnt quite make it over. Is that true? Do they actually let people ride it during that? I bet that drop on the MF would be nuts. I used to be scared to death of the drops, but now they are like my favorite part. The feeling you get on them is crazy. On Vortex, when you go over and before you build up speed its like Oh Crap here it comes! But then it is so fun going down it. And MF is twice as high, and almost twice as steep. So I bet that part would be cool. Do you get any airtime on the MF? I know M200XL uses the speed hills that are not parabolic, but with a minimum speed of 60mph, any radical change in direction from going up to going down, even if the track is not parabolic is bound to give you some airtime. Well I guess its something you just have to experience before trying to figure out what its like. But now I do look forward to it more since you all have said that it is a genuine good coaster and not just an attempt at CP to get the record.
  6. Ziggy says theres a 95% chance that was a joke. Actually it was. I know nobody jumps off of it. It would be fun though!
  7. Ok, we've established that you cant judge a coaster till you ride it. But my only point to what I originally said was that I personally prefer radical changes in direction to changes in speed. And the whole reason we even started on this was that I said I dont think they should tear down The Vortex. And I still dont unless they replace it with something more extreme, not just faster. And once more, I am planning on going to CP next season. I might end up thinking MF is the best coaster in the world. I dont know now though cause Ive never rode it. I was just saying from what I see, it looks boring. But I guess theres nothing boring about falling 300 feet at 88 degrees! One thing I think is really cool is the lift hill on it - it uses an elevator instead of a chain. Youre also right about TTD. It uses magnets to stop the vehicle, but not to start it. On the Worlds Best on the travel channel, they show it, and this long hydraulic thing comes down the track and slides under the car prior to launch. So that must be the cable thing. Sorry I just got confused. Why do they tell you to put your arms down just before the launch? Would it hurt you pretty bad going from 0-120 in 4 secs? Well sorry if I made anybody mad by that comment. I didnt mean to.
  8. Do you just get one ERT ride in that time period, or does everybody get to ride it as many times as their hearts desire? If I went I wouldnt be able to make it until 7pm, and Id miss the lunch cause I have to work. So do you think its still worth it? It is $19 for non-gocc and non-ace members with pki season passes.
  9. Its the LIM launch and the 90 degree ascent and descent that make TTD cool. I think Gemini looks cool cause its the same premise as AE - a steel coaster in disguise as a woodie, but it races. And the track looks longer and more interesting than The Racer at PKI - although The Racer has good airtime and is fast. Its just something I want to try. Ive never been to CP, I might end up thinking MF is the most awesome coaster in the world and Gemini sucks. Who knows. Im just saying that from what I have seen and read about MF, and the RCT model of it, it looks like it wouldnt be that interesting. But then again, Racers looks boring, but after riding it, boring is the one thing it isnt! Im just saying I like flipping and twisting and turning. Like if FOF and Vortex are good examples. And while SOB (forget what I said about waiting till next year, Im riding it first sat in october) contains only one inversion, it has two banked helixes. But you are right, im not the expert on CP - Ive never been. But all these coaster shows on Travel Channel and all that, always show Cedar Point. And I just think that M200XL and MF look like they might not be my favorites - but Ill have to wait and see till next season. I do think wicked twister and mantis look cool though. But I still say TTD is the one I want to ride most. Have fun at CP PKIPunk! I work every saturday... unless I request it off a month in advance.
  10. Do you think it would be worth it to pay the extra 19 bucks and ride ERT on The Beast from Midnight to 1am with the ACErs? I know they are having a get together sometime in october, and if youre not an ACEr but you have a PKI season pass, you can pay 19 bucks to hang out with them that extra hour.
  11. As I said in the last post... What I am saying is it goes fast, then slows down, then goes fast again, then slows down again, then goes fast again then slows down again. It goes into a couple tunnels. A lot of people like that kind of thing. I like rapid changes in direction more than I do in speed. I am sure Millennium Force is fun, but I was saying that there are things out there much more extreme. Take TTD - it rockets you 420 feet into the air and then pulls you back down. Or X - it has a 215 foot drop making it taller than Magnum 200 XL. But where M200XL just does the speed up-slow down thing over and over and over, X takes you through inversions, parabolic air time hills all the while the seats themselves spin and spin. I would much rather do something like that than speed up and slow down. If all I wanted to do was go down a big hill and go fast, I would take my friends' 500hp camaro down a back country road.
  12. Thats true. I didnt think about that. Instead of inversions I should have said clothoid-shaped- loops. Cobra-rolls, corkscrews, in-line twists and zero-g rolls are inversions too! I just like the sensation you get when actually doing a loop. But if you look at a coaster like MF or M200XL at Cedar Point they are designed to go fast. They dont even use parabolic air time hills - they use linear speed hills. I am planning on going to CP next summer, and Ill ride MF and those other ones, but the only ones I am really excited about are TTD and Gemini. I just think that hypercoasters are dumb. The silver bullet at KBF looks awesome. It has plenty of inversions, including the zero-g roll - make sure theres nothing in your shirt pocket! I was just thinking about something someone else put in a post a long time ago, where they said to tear down The Vortex and put in a hypercoaster. That would be dumb in my opinion. But if they replaced it with something better (not on the level of IJ but something that takes the level of The Vortex up a notch) I would be ok with it. Like I said a 4D or something like the Batman flying coaster at SFGA would be awesome.
  13. So its for the base jumpers or people who want to pay out the ears to reenact that scene in TR2 where they jump off the building with those flying suits?
  14. Actually knowing my luck they would tear down Vortex and put in that Lemony Snicket thing or the Spongebob Driving School. I hope they dont though cause myself, everyone in my family and most of my friends think Vortex is the best coaster. Face Off is too short. Topgun is fun but too short and has no inversions. FOF is too short. We like longer coaster experiences - and Beast and SOB have those, but Vortex is awesome.
  15. They can rebuild pieces of track and stuff that fall apart cant they? I would hate to see The Vortex go. What would replace it? Inversions dont seem to be the "in" thing these days. Personally I would rather ride Vortex than any hypercoaster at Cedar Point. I think the only thing that could replace Vortex would be a 4D coaster or another coaster with 6 or more inversions. Anything less, including something as dull as Millenium Force would make me and a lot of other people upset.
  16. I knew you werent the girl I worked with at Staples cause her name was Lisa. You just look a lot alike. I mean ALOT alike. But people tell me all the time that there is another person who lives in northern Cincinnati who looks just like me. So maybe everybody has a look-alike out there! Heres a question - whats the second elevator for?
  17. Do you actually work on the tower? As in do you go up the elevator and give that little spiel about not dropping things and all that? I think I might have seen you the last couple times I went to the park. Maybe not. But there was a girl - I didnt pay attention to the name - but she is about 5'7 or so, long blond hair, wears a white pki shirt that bears an UNCANNY resemblance to a girl who I used to work with about a year ago at Staples 456 in Anderson. I just remember cause I thought it was her, and was going to say hi, but her name was different. Oh well, dont know if that was you or not, just wondering. A trip to PKI isnt complete without a trip up the tower! Unless youre like me and go sometimes for two or three hours after work and dont have time cause youre hustleing around the park to make it onto all your favorite rides before they close! I didnt even notice the clock till like my fourth time going!
  18. This just in. Administrative officials of Paramount's Kings Island, a theme park about fourty-five minutes from Cincinnati, Ohio, were stoned to death after they released shocking news at a press conference. It was announced that in addition to the dastardly removal of the Antique Car ride, their twenty foot floral clock will be removed to make room for a new state-of-the art movie-themed roller coaster based on the Paramount Pictures movie The Italian Job. Only moments after the unveiling of the news, pieces of spoiled fruit as well as small stones (and some large ones) found themselves airborne. Two members of the admin were killed, and police have apprehended six suspects. One disgruntled park guest commented "Those idiots! Every year my family and I make a pilgrimage from Petrozovodsk, Siberia just to see that floral clock. It has inspired generations of Chekovs!" Due to such pressure, Paramount officials have decided to cancel construction on the Italian Job, restore the Antique Cars and leave the floral clock in place. Just joking, I made that up - I was feeling creative. But I doubt the clock will go - it is small, and its nice to be able to check what time it is. As I make my rounds, I use it frequently to see what I have time to ride and dont. But even if they do get rid of it, that wouldnt be cause to not visit the park. Even if they got rid of scooters, my favorite flat, I would be sad but I would still go. Sorry if I alarmed anybody, I was just giving you a hard time! PS - Im a lurker now!!! Whatever that means!
  19. I kind of agree. Parks need more relaxing stuff. Thats the big problem with CP. Its a main course of adrenaline with a side of adrenaline. I dont think Kings Island is heading there now, but they could take that turn in the future. And thats the worst thing that could happen. I never rode Tiques cause it looked ungodly boring, and my first (that I can remember - I went when I was 4 but dont remember it) trip to PKI was only a month ago and I have had other things to do. But I think it was a good asset to the park. I would have liked to seen it moved to rivertown or something - not permanetly dismantled or turned into a stupid Toon Carwash or whatever. But to make a long story short, I think they could use some slower paced things. I wonder if they could do something with that walk over to CDBB? Or open something up back in that area inside the train track circuit?
  20. You would never go back to PKI if they got rid of the clock? I could see if they got rid of the fliers or something but the clock?
  21. Another place to get really good movies is www.hussrides.com. They have movies of a topspin (Ripsaw at Alton Towers). They also have 3rd and 1st person movies of Delirium (Giant Frisbee).
  22. Whats wrong with being in the school band? Its no worse than being a football player or cheerleader. I didnt do anything in school except for homework (occasionally). But all those extracurricular people should be proud. Even the chess team!
  23. What about Montgomery Inn in Rivertown? I like LaRosa's (both inside and outside the park), as well as Subway. But Stunt Crew Grill has good food!
  24. Amen! Scooters are the best. Im still trying to learn to snap. You lean into the circle and push the handle all the way to the left to go up, and then abrubtly lean out and flip the rudder handle to the right, correct? I snapped a couple times, and they were really good ones. But it takes me so long to work my up to that point. I would think that being heavy, I would be easier to snap. I dont know how many rides I will get on it. I figure 7-12 the first four saturday, and 10am-12 on the last saturday - thats 34 hours. Plus I might go for a couple hours one sunday. And ill probably divide much of that time between Vortex and scooters.
  25. So you think Ill be disappointed if I save it for next year thinking its going to be awesome? I havent heard a lot about it, other than one of my friends said its like the greatest coaster in the world. But if it isnt all that good, maybe Ill ride it this year. Or maybe Ill ride FOF and Beast. Im looking forward to riding them all, I just want to save a few 'new' ones for next year.
