  1. Kumba was the loudest I can remember for the entire course, in terms of the "B&M roar." That said, the loudest coaster MOMENT I can think of was the eardrum-ripping sound at the top of the lift on SOB. YIKES.
  2. Tell that to Hersheypark concerning Skyrush. I personally haven't experienced it, but from my understanding its station was a nightmare on capacity its opening season (compared to what it could have been), with the one sided load and unload. Last year also included an attempt at rotating bins that apparently didn't work out so well, but apparently have been eliminated?
  3. The real question is: Will the themeing and effects last more than a couple seasons? Looking at BLSC, along with a number of other rides in the CF chain, I'm a bit worried. Hopefully the new regime at CF values the upkeep of such rides more (and in fairness, it appears they do).
  4. Uhm... No? Yea, its a bit of an illusion from the perspective we have. It is laying on the ground behind that section of supports
  5. ^Dang beat me. But here is the invite received by the Enquirer posted to this thread for everyone:
  6. Presumably, it is a night time announcement because it will play into the whole Banshee, scary field with "scarecrows" and owls and haunting noise things (and maybe camping)? Seems to all tie together so far.
  7. Looking at the webcam, I just saw it cycle with passengers.
  8. New twitter post: "Is that Owl Paccino?":
  9. Not to derail almost 12 hours later, but KK does NOT have kicker wheels at the top to prevent rollbacks. It does have magnetic trims it seems, but only to seemingly slow the train if it crests the hill too fast.
  10. Nope. That's someone's "wishlist" of a drawing for what they wanted TTD to be like, posted after it opened.
  11. So..... they took the effort to apparently fix what ever was wrong below the sticker, and still misspelled OCCURRENCE? Are we sure it is a new sign? Not that it matters... but still.
  12. The worst I've heard is CGA fanboys calling Goldstriker, GOLDIE or GOLDY. Makes me wanna scoop out my eyes reading that!
  13. I know this has been asked, but I'm not sure I've seen a response... does anybody have recent pictures or a report on any recent passings of the B&M steel plant in Batavia? Obviously this doesn't certainly mean something for KI, but it'd be a decent clue.
  14. I think it's pretty difficult to compare construction schedules to assume the statisitcs of the (possibly) new ride. Diamondback was started earlier, but there was a lot of land clearing and prep to do. As someone has mentioned, think of the Gatekeeper site a year ago. Or the I305 site the May before it was announced. Nowhere near as far along (or even started).
  15. The more extensive work at this point in the season for DB may have been due to the fact that a lot more prep work had to be done in clearing all the trees and grading the land. Just guessing here, but this site is already cleared and much more ready to go, so my guess is they wouldn't have to start so soon or be so far along. Then again, I don't know a lot about the specifics of a construction process.
  16. I've heard nothing but amazing things about the Intamin Mega-Lite coasters that have come out so far. I think in terms of intensity, Intamin takes the cake. B&M are great rides, but tend to be lower on the forces. Like someone said a bit ago, I'm not really interested in getting a taller, slightly different Diamondback, like Canada's Wonderland kind of did (even if Leviathan and Behemoth aren't all that similar). I want something completely different ride-wise....along the lines of the mega-lites, or Maverick or I305. Only time will tell.
  17. Maybe I was on to something earlier this week! A new patent as of April 24th!! http://www.trademarkia.com/Banshee-85913369.html
  18. Not to nitpick, but I said pretty much the exact same thing a few pages back, on Monday. In fact, it almost seems word for word: Not sure if it was completely coincidental or not, but if so, I guess I'm glad somebody else saw the thought process I did.
  19. Just my $.02 at the moment. Concerning the "evil phenomenon" causing "bone chilling screams," wasn't there a rumored name circulating last year for Gatekeeper that was similar to "Banshee"? I remember that the discussion happened, because people were questioning that since Banshee was changed to Mantis and that they would never use the rumored name for that reason.... but I can't remember the name thrown out there? Thoughts? Was this rumor based in documentation somewhere (patents, etc)?
  20. I know nothing about protocol, but every situation mentioned here is for EMPLOYEES climbing the ride. When it comes to evac'ing a train on the lift, they never wear harnesses, do they? I've personally never seen it, as the stair cases are built to be safe without them (or at least so it seems, again I'm no expert on all the code). I can't imagine if Gatekeeper breaks down on the lift, they would harness every person taken off the ride and walked down the ride. That said, I guess these people would qualify more under the "Employee" side of things... so who knows.
  21. Return to the old paint job on Racer? Thoughts? (from RCDB)
  22. I presume that this was directed at a post made after mine that has since been deleted? I have missed out on this thread for the last week or so. But to stay on topic, it's amazing how much the land was actually levelled for SOB. I never really realized that. I'm excited to see what's coming in the next year for the site! Can't wait to start following the "clues"
  23. Have you seen the area already? Scroll up to Captain Nemo's post on this page of the thread. There was a picture posted a few weeks ago
  24. I had a lady in front of me in line for TTD a few years back insisting TTD was launched with rubber bands. It was a slightly windy, chilly day and the rubber bands needed warming up so that's why they only launched 4-6 people per car. I realllllly thought she was joking at first, but then her boyfriend/husband agreed with her and said "I guess that makes sense." She was DEAD.SERIOUS. Now while the warming up scenario is actually pretty accurate, I just kept my mouth shut. Even my friend who doesn't follow the theme park/coaster injury knew what she was saying was absurd.
