  1. It's usually at the discretion of the employee to tell but usually before the season starts, especially on a season when a major new ride is coming in, it's best to keep quiet until the season starts. Last season I got a friendly reminder from a fellow employee and a KICer after I said something really dumb about the construction fence I saw on training day to not discuss park matters before the park opened. Just be smart about what you say on here and you should be golden. On the same note. For those KI employees going to test ride Banshee over the next 2 weekends. Just don't discuss it on here or on other social media before the ride opens to the public. Some want the surprise come the 17/18th and the park wants the same too.
  2. I prefer saying driver. Makes it sound more important. However if they changed both to "Captain", even better. Would have my very own ready room.
  3. Well it's at least helpful. Thought according to this map the train makes an incomplete crescent of the face of the Earth. I'll take the exaggerated lifts over this any day.
  4. Have you seen the people who go to Kings Island?! Fanny Packs are among the most fashionable items worn at KI compared to some things people wear or lack there of.
  5. Actually I don't go to Haunt very often (almost years apart) so no I haven't seen the Haunt lines. You do make a strong point .
  6. The park might also be thinking ahead for future use of their queue lines. How many times a year do you see many sections of Diamondback's and The Beast's queue open and used. Same with Flight of Fear that may only use sections once a year or once every few years and for The Bat they just had to remove a section of queue that hasn't been used in almost two decades. If the park makes an entire section of queue that will most likely only be used for one time in it's entire existence as a ride seems ridiculous.
  7. Geddy Lee wails. Miley talks into a computer that makes her wail.
  8. They don't have one per-se- it's generally assumed to be most days in June, July and August. They have this day because they rented the park out for the event. As I understand though, so long as you buy a ticket and not interrupt activities with your own "agenda"- you're able to come. I've never been (i have a SP, so no reason to feel like I should pay for a ticket on any "special" event day: GLBT, P&G, GE, etc...). Jokingly, I "get" your comment though. I'm waiting for someone to sponsor the "White-Hetero-Male-age-18-to-49" Day! It will be flannel and jeans everywhere. Everyone else get's their day, right? They're was once a whole night for recent area High School Graduates, didn't work out well but it worked out in a way expected.
  9. Bubbarette. Bubba needs a wife for his next door neighbor.
  10. I would consider Elitch Gardens a major amusement park. Although it lacks any good rides other than Twister II and the very underrated Sidewinder.
  11. Usually they don't give out full day shifts on Holidays. If you do work on Easter it will only be half a day probably.
  12. He could pursue a career in being the GM of KI. Then he can ride whenever you want.
  13. Just picture Rob Alvey "WHEEEEE!!" -ing and "Batzeling!!!" and other Media Representatives enjoying the front while the peasants are sent one row back.
  14. I think it's personal photos only. If KI provided the Photo I believe it's okay but don't hold me to that I could be wrong.
  15. ^ Opening Day 2014, real life discussion... Person 1: So I told someone they're changing Flight Deck to The Bat on Facebook... Person 2: Whoa Whoa! did you capitalize "The Bat?!" Person 1: Well I guess not, I'll have to check... Person 2: Do you even CARE about the TOS?! Person 1: The TOS of what?, life?
  16. And in the bigger picture these are pictures of roller coasters, not Soviet Missiles. Just take a look at what EXACTLY we are all talking about before making a big fuss.
  17. It would be great if KI would have a season long concert line-up.
  18. Get in line at 9:50. They won't shut the ride down until everyone in line by 10 has ridden.
  19. I can take the yolocoaster and keyholling. I can kind of get over it and I can always respect a person for liking a coaster for fun and thrill. What really gets me is the banning people he disagrees with and the 1400+ dollar trips to a long string of obscure unknown international parks just for credits and bragging rights.
  20. Yesterday on the way home from practice (well the "Long Way" as far as my parents know ) I stopped by GWL to check out testing. I didn't see any of Banshee move but I did see The Bat have a train on the block brake I all of its orange and black glory. Also the station from the highway looks gigantic.
  21. I'll be on the trailer tower. Edit: I looked it up. this is an actual thing. Sorry to disturb.
  22. I forget its exact title but I believe it's called Alpenflug?
  23. The park uses a sound dampening wheel due to neighbor complaints. This results in a quieter roar and a rattling sensation.
