  1. Jars of Clay has been one of my favorite bands since their debut-album in the mid-nineties ... however they haven't came back to KI since like 2001. I guess they have just dropped off of the Christian festival radar even though they played Carowins. Out of the list now David Crowder Band would be worth seeing, but I doubt I'll go to it. DCB will be at Bogart's later as well.

  2. It's the food prices that is killing me ........The ice cream is half the size it was and cost a small fortune. That is what is killing the Pass holders. Its hard to imagine $10.00 for four cones. I havn't checked on the pizza price with out the gold pass meal can anyone tell me?

Food prices aren't dragging the whole attendance or park down, even though they are and have been rediculously high for a long time. It's a tired topic, really, and it's never going to get better.

  3. The site where classic shows such as Clarissa Explains It All and Legends of the Hidden Temple has been torn down.

Two show's I've never heard of being called "Classic."

Hmmm, how the term classic must have fallen.

    Uh, here's a question.

How do you know it has been "torn down?" Did you see it from a news article or something? I had heard in recent years that they stopped doing the tours and it wasn't upket because they didn't film any live-action shows there, and the slime geyser was removed years ago.

  4. From what I always heard, these last couple of years the studios have been in bad shape. They stopped tours some time ago, and it wasn't well upkept. Probably because they had no use for it anymore. Their main focus now is the Nicktoons, not all the classic live action shows that were taped at the Studios.

    Sad news.

What will happen to the time capsule?

  5. The last time I checked the perimeter around the base divided by 3.14 multiplied by the areas around Action Zone, add that to the square feet of River Town and then divide by the circumfrance of the extra land to find the equation for 3945.42, find the volume of that multiplied by the square foot of Action Theater so that gives you 3.342.242, then you'll need to subtract parking lot square foot and divide 92.13 and get the equation multiplied by 10,636.

  6. It was on the edge of Rivertown by the bathrooms, basically where the Nick Central sign has been sitting for the last few years. It was a large cage that had neeting around it inside of which there were battle tank (boats) which could shoot rubber balls (the size of tennis balls) at the observation area as well as other boats and targets hanging from the air. The balls of course could not hit the observers because of the netting. Around the perimeter of the cage were air compressed "guns" that would shoot similar balls back at the boats, you could buy balls buy the bucket to shoot.

I remember I use to go around and try to find balls that had become stuck on the ledge of the cage near an opening in the net and you could pull them out and have a free ball LOL cool.gif

Ah, yes, then that is about the exact same thing that Wally World has, like I mentioned above, although it didn't have things hanging.

About how long ago was it? I've never seen any pictures.

  7. They have something similar to these at the small Wally World park in Liberty, Indiana, I think they're just called "battle boats" or something along those lines, but it is one person inside the ship and shoot balls out with a net surrounded the pool, and they also have guns outside the net where people can put in quarters (like WWC's fountains) and shoot balls at the ships.

PKI used to have something like that.

Really? I'm not saying you're wrong, I just don't remember. What was it like?

  8. Yeah you people might nto like the name, but are you really gonna stop letting your kids ride it, are you really that offended by the name change that you want to start a petition or something or make PKI feel your "pain"? Do you really think people are gonna stop coming to the park just because the name is different, 90% of the general public that comes to the park probably didnt even know it was The Beastie, just that small wooden coaster I can take the kids on with me, no matter the name or paint job its a great coaster for everyone like klock said, it could be worse, what if they decided they wanted another coaster or a different ride there, I think we should be grateful that we have such a classic coaster that so many can enjoy rather than whine about its name.

"Do you really think" anyone cares that you're overeacting? Of course everybody isn't going to have the same opinion as you and like the name. People have different opinions. It's what makes the world go around. Just because people don't like the name doesn't mean they "aren't going to let their kids on it" or "not come to the park." No one is saying that. Some of us just might not like the name.

  9. 10. Now that I'm back, Maureen presented some great information about PKI in 2006:

    - SDatHC will remain as-is

    - A Hanna-Barbera film will be showing at the Action Theater, apparently replacing the SpongeBob film, at all 5 Paramount Parks

I thought that PKI was getting rid of Hanna-Barbera. Can you elaborate on the ride? Also, how is SDATHC remaining the same? It can't be in NU and there is no more H-B Land. Will it be in IS?

    Thanks,

Yeah, HB Land gets revamped and replaced with Nick Central, and then a Hanna-Barbera replaced SpongeBob 3D at Action Theater? That makes about as much since as the sun suddenly crashing into the Earth.

  11. First off your the one getting your info from the wrong sources, had you taken the time to read through the topic you wouldve seen the link wooferbear posted about how both the EPA and WHO reports on second hand smoke are not only seriously flawed, but horribly innacurate. Go read the site, it has everything it says backed up and guess what.......second hand smoke.......doesnt kill you.

The Scientific Committee on Tobbacco and Health has proved time after time again that passive smoke increases the risk of lung cancer and/or heart disease, in both cases by at least 25% at the minimum. The SCOTH (Scientific Committee on Tobacco and Health) is made up of 15 of the most eminent medical scientists in Britian and the United States, and proved this as a counter against a smoker's group who challenged the government to prove the second hands moke is harmful.

The facts are right in front of you. You cannot honestly think that passive smoke is harmless when hundreds of people exposed of it from early childhood die from lung cancer and heart disease who otherwise had no problems! The facts are there, there is no getting around it.

  12. ^I agree with you man, I think its total crap when smokers dont obey the rules, especially those who smoke in line, its so much fun to bust them as an employee and I agree its an AWFUL smell and iritating to a lot of people. I, myself, dont smoke and think smoking is in now way good for you. Im just saying that all the hype about 2nd hand smoke being the 2nd holocaust is a load of crap. It smells bad, it agrivates allergies (I have them too), and its rude, but its not murdering people by the thousands everyday.

Wow, you must be pretty jaded if you're one of those people who buy into the whole "second hand smoke isn't bad" slur. Lung cancer & heart disease are 2 of the many common serious risks people exposed to second hand smoke have suffered from. Backed by over 2 decades of scientic research, there is "no safety" in second hand smoke. Children frequently exposed to second hand smoke early in their life can progess to have asthma attacks. Once when I argued with someone about this they said that Penn & Teller proved that second hand smoke is harmless. If you are like this person and your rebuttle is similar, I would like to wish you, among other things, getting your health advice from stage musicians.

  13. you would think that FOF would be open; if for nothing else to help disburse the crowd. It may very well be the first time ever that there would be a 1-hour line for the Carousel (j/k).

Why would they open FOF as the only major attraction open during WinterFest? Can you imagine the crowd for WinterFest with ONE roller coaster operating?
