  1. And see a far superior version thereof to boot.... No, actually I've heard it is the same exact film...but I'm not spending the money to go watch a movie while I'm at a zoo. We get season passes to the zoo too, but I've never gone to the Sponge Bob thing.
  2. If your going to miss the Sponge Bob 3D movie, go to the Cincy zoo, you can watch it there for a small fee
  3. My brother-in-law is a school teacher, and has his summers off. He is interested in a job at King's Island this summer, possibly in guest services or security. Does anyone have an idea of the amount of money it pays hourly? And do they offer 40 hour week work weeks?
  4. I think you'd be surprised to know how many of us actually have true Indian (A-hem, or should I say "Native American?") decent in our long blood lines. My family gets to claim Shawnee blood...or so it makes a good story coming out of my Dad's mouth.
  5. I have noticed on the train ride that in the "ghost town" on the last building on the left that there is a sign hanging up that says something to the tune of "Do Not Feed Animals. They May Bite." Does anyone know anything about this sign? Is it from the old Safari ride? Another little interesting fact: Kings Island has it's very own cemetary! A real one: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...c=12936&hl=
  6. Gordon Bombay, Was that really a "real" gun in the dirt of the drained lake at Americana???? Or was it a squirt gun! That is so crazy, either way. I love the Vintage Coke bottle that you found in the dirt too...so eerie! When I see those pics and the youtube videos of Americana it really saddens me! I can't help but feel bitter toward Mr. Couch! I don't know what his intentions were, if they were ever good for the park, or he just had a run of bad luck? How sad it is to see a place with so much history just standing still in time, and rotting away. I have so many memories of Americana when I was little. My dad's company always had their family picnics there in the 80's like so many other companies always did. My mother-in-law tells me about my husband swimming in the pool when he was a baby...he swam naked! How many other people can say they got to do that in the pool??? LOL! If your looking to find the old Flight Comander line, all you have to do is go back behind the fast pitch game, it's right there. I actually went back there one time this summer to nurse a fussy baby! LOL! It's really eerie. Another thing I find interesting, if you do google earth of Kings Island, and scope it in a bird's eye view, you can see the old remnants of the Lion Safari ride. A couple old buildings, and a couple swamps...you can see where the monorail track used to lay as well.
  7. If the poster meant a college: First of all, you don't "Build a college"...a college is usually founded. If the poster meant a true collage, his post makes no sense... FYI: Just heard on the news tonight that COLLEGES are expecting at least a 24 score on the ACT's for admission now...
  8. Make this (The Gold Lot) parking exclusive for Gold/Platinum members, with a full time attendent checking passes so that it is enforced all year long and enforced at special events. Not enforced like it was this year, 3 or 4 hours a day when KI felt like putting a staff out there. More speed pass days with more than 4 rides as speed pass rides and more than once a day on those days. (a speed pass system like Disney uses would be fair for everyone). Discounted prices for the Back Yard BBQ for Gold pass users. Longer operating season, operate regular days up until HH. My cousin said everytime he went to KI this summer, (three times) he parked in the Gold Pass Parking...and he only had a basic pass. He said no one was ever there checking, so he just drove on in.
  9. I may, but my albums are packed in the garage. I'll take a look this weekend. Cool thanks! I bet other people would like to see your old pics too.
  10. Does anyone have any pics (good or bad) of the old play area in HBL called McScrappy's Farm? I have a distinct childhood memory of me and my family seeking shelter out of the rain in one of the playground slide things, and I'd love to see a pic of it...
  11. I was told at the beginning of the season that the path will not be reopening. That really stinks! Having to go through Coney Mall where that three point basketball game thing is at, right before you get to BLSC is awful! I hate going through there. It's too crowded, and too noisy! And when you have three children, it's just chaos.
  12. Has anyone been inconvenienced as much as I have by the closed path? It seems I spend most of my time on that side of the park, so maybe it's just me! I am looking forward to next year and the path being open again!
  13. ...and then they wonder why we have a pride night. By the way, not all of us believe in the same God, this is America and freedom of religion is one of are rights. All of are rights. I believe you mean to say "freedom of religion is one of OUR rights. All of OUR rights."
  14. How did your wife cut up the two sandwiches and not realize there was no meat!?!?!?!?! Now that's why I'd be worried about if I was you! LOL! HA HA!
  15. Ok, I'm confused...they still have "Nick or Treat" right? Isn't that for the kids? I know it's during the day, but won't the kids see some of the "adult natured thememing?"
